Normally we have pleasant experiences at this location, but on our most recent visit we were not informed upon entering that they were closing. Being that it was still near tea time I was in the mood for a green tea but the staff were unable to provide descriptions of their selection without consulting a manual. Being that they are a local provider for Mariage Frères I wanted to make sure that I was ordering something to my palate and having been to Mariage Frères locations in Paris I know the variety they have to offer, I have four canisters of their loose leaf teas at home as it is. Upon making my selection I had asked that it be steeped at a lower temperature to match the variety, but I was told that it was not possible. I made the mistake of mentioning the correct temperature and the woman behind the counter let out a noticeable sound of disgust or frustration over my comment. It was then around this time that we were informed that they were closing and my wife and child would have to eat their cakes outside. After letting my tea steep I was saddened to see that only one bag for 16oz of water was used. Mariage frères provides two bags for this size. To make matters worse I was given the green blend of Jasmine instead of the l'Opéra that I ordered. This is a favorite place for my family to go as a treat, but I will be thinking twice before returning with them due to our experience this visit.

Dietary restrictions: Not many gluten free options among the patisseries but items with gluten, alcohol, and nuts are clearly marked.

Beautiful shop, but when the Cafe is closed the food is subpar and reheated and the staff don't seem well trained. A lot of the items are overpriced by most standards. Probably wouldn't come again.

Went into cafe to buy some chocolate. My wife and ask if chocolate was gluten free since I have celiacs. We bought candies and a cake asking numerous times if the cake was gluten free it was not. We later looked up on there website about the cake where it clearly says it has wheat. They should train there employees better.

The chocolate is amazing here. Food was good but a little pricy for what we received, selection was a bit limited, but the espresso martini was perhaps the best I have ever had. I’d recommend trying it out.

Gorgeous! Can't wait to come back. We had lattes and chocolates in the café. Staff was patient and friendly. Chocolate mice and penguins are ADORABLE...and delicious. So many flavors packed into such a small treat.

Their drinks are well made and generous. The chocolates are also hand made and delicious. Either pre-made boxes or make your own selections, seasonal treats as well. Parked right out front, too!

We absolutely love their chocolate. My 2 year old is in love with their holiday shapes and also loves their chocolate mice. It's pretty pricey but handmade and in my opinion well worth the price. If you stop in you have to try the iced chocolate.

This place is adorable, and the staff here are ALWAYS exceptional, but the management of Burdicks REFUSES to put tipping capabilities on the credit card machine. What the heck? Literally every other coffee shop in the U.S. right now allows tipping, and unless the owners of Burdicks are paying these (amazing) employees $40 an hour, I don’t understand why willing customers like myself aren’t able to tip if we want to. In 2024, many people, including myself don’t carry cash on us (they allow you to pay via credit card BTW, but you just can’t tip)And for the record. I’m a real Walpole resident. My name is Dan McCollister, and I don’t know any of these people personally, nor did any of them tell me to write this. :) I am doing this 1,000,000% of my own volition cause I think it is uncool and unethical for a business not to allow their underpaid staff to make tips. ?

My partner and I love this place for coffee drinks and pastries, I always bring out of town guests. The counter staff are friendly and helpful, everything is delicious.
