“I had never heard of Bellows House Bakery, but I soon discovered they make delicious cookies and brownies. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to receive a Next Day Air delivery box of sinfully delicious goodies from a client. The assortment was large and the task was daunting, so after work I invited my sugar-holic staff in my office for a closed-door chocolate sampling session. Soon all 6 women had strong opinions. - We first tried the Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookie, which has a great chocolate taste. The consistency is good- not too hard and not too soft. The cookie is large and heavy and big enough to share. It's a great treat for any choco-holic. - Next, was the Almond Butter Cookie, which after the chocolate cookie, tasted a little too plain but very good. It has a crisp and flaky-like consistency and we quickly discovered that cookie eaters fall into two categories- those that like crunchy, crisp cookies and those that like soft, moist ones. The almonds added great texture. - The Double Cream Cheese Brownie is more of a cake than a brownie. It wasn't a bad size- neither too thick nor too large. The brownie connoisseurs among us felt that it was moist and delicious. - The classic Chocolate Chip Cookie was next. It is very chunky and filled with chocolate. Some likened it to Soft Chips Ahoy. Our bellies were getting filled; Our comments were getting fewer, as we were zoning out on sugar highs. - Raspberry Crumb bars, sit on a shortbread crust and are topped with an oat and pecan-studded crumb topping. Delicious and addicting. - Belgium Chocolate Ganache Brownies were not a big hit with my staff, but perhaps their taste buds were getting dulled. Most felt it was too sweet and the texture was messy. - There certainly were enough cookie types to choose from. Milk Chocolate Butterscotch is a large cookie. My tasters preferred the smaller cookies, where you can choose your portions. This cookie has a rich butterscotch taste. - The Peanut Butter Chip Brownie was delicious. The consistency is nice and chewy, with a subtle peanut butter and chocolate flavor. - Last, but not least, was the Belgium Chocolate Chunk Brownie, which are delicious brownies made with butter, cocoa powder, and walnuts. The warm brownies are topped with a nice chocolate walnut icing. It is very sweet and by this time we all had a sugar rush. I was amazed 6 petite women could devour all that chocolate goodness. They said Chocolate makes them feel loved and special and tastes great as it melts in their mouths. Nuff said. Overall, a very nice gift to receive and/or give.”

“I don't normally review fast food places because they are what they are. I mean I am grabbing sandwiches from inside a gas station right? However, I was so happy with our service today. They were busy with two people manning the shop. Our server was ...I think his name was Joe. He at first seemed a little frazzled with how busy it was but he was actually just lovely. He told my husband about his weekend and his nieces, and how many he had, all while making our sandwiches. He was just a happy friendly guy and you don't get to see that very much lately. Our sandwiches were the standard, normal, nothing to scream about kind. And when we cashed out we saw the tip option and I never tip for food I am picking up at the counter. That just seems ridiculous to me. But because we liked this guy so much, we tipped 20%. We will be back, Subway is a big OK, but Joe was pretty cool.”

“It’s not your typical seat an be served cafe/restaurant. They have a delightful counter staff that will take your order the kitchen staff will make it an usually one of them brings it to your table that they give you a number for an then you are responsible for picking up and separating your waste from recycling down to your trash in the appropriate buckets. I have been frequently showing up at this cafe since I found it and I must admit it is a great spot, minutes from Walpole NH and other fun local towns! Grab a bite!! Explore!”

“The Moon Dog Cafe is a great place to grab a bite if you are in downtown Bellows Falls. They have yummy food and great friendly service... Susie was a perfect hostess. Bright atmosphere full of smiles.Free 2 hr parking down the street makes it easy to visit.”

“Pizza Palace has a very large menu with lots of choices. The owner is extremely attentive to their customers, and making sure they are happy is clearly a priority. The food is great, with large portions. (We always get take out so I didn’t review the atmosphere.)”

“My wife and I go out of our way to visit the best organic artisan bakeries in New England, and around the country and world when we travel, and Orchard Hill is without a doubt in the 5-Star echelon. Go to their shop on a Saturday morning (early if possible, they often sell out) and get excellent baked pastries and treat breads. Obviously different folks have different taste buds, but to leave a 1 or 2 Star rating for these committed, generous, hard-working artisans who consistently produce the finest baked goods - as evidenced by the overwhelming 5-Star reviews - sounds spiteful rather than honest words from an educated palate; do ignore them.”

Both myself and the person I went with took a few bites and didn’t like it so we were unable to finish it. However, what lead to my dissatisfaction is we both got sick from the sorbet and have very upset stomach’s just a half hour after eating it.EDIT: Our money was refunded the same night I originally posted this review without me having to call and ask. This leads me to believe that this occurrence is not normal and the owner(s) is an honest individual. I would absolutely do business with them again. “Hot bar for food is always good quality ingredients and variety changes day to day, same with the salad bar and any food made to order is always great. Been coming here 10+yrs and have yet to be disappointed.
