Garden salad with crispy chicken. 6 slim slices of chicken, blue cheese dressing had to be thrown out! Called and told them, no care, no we will get you more chicken, refund nothing, dead air! Done with this place. Stayed quiet last time assuming short staff etc. JUST A BAD PLACE TO EAT!

Our waiter was great, but people who came in after us ate before us. We think it might have been because we ordered entrees versus the quicker fry meals.

I understand"...good food isn't fast" as it says on menu, but waiting 55 minutes for a hamburger and a sandwich is really pushing it. Help was nice but far from attentive. food was basic, but certainly not worth the time we sat waiting for it

Why would you hire a bartender that has absolutely no experience! And neither does anyone else working right now. They can’t find a bottle of gin!!!
Food was delicious, waitress was patient and helpful. Only downer was a little bit of a wait. But, like it says on the menu, 'fast food isn't good, and good food isn't fast.' This was our first visit. We'll be back.

Well it feels like you just walked into your grandmas dining room. The service takes forever, so does the food, when the food finally came out both of your meals were cold. My margarita was unbearably sour. The help was nice but terribly slow. No urgency in the place. Just not a good experience.

My friend and I visited for the first time yesterday, as we like to try out "new to us" places while out venturing. I googled Spencer's Place after looking into local restaurants in the area, and we'd decided to stop and try Spencer's on our way back to Keene after being in VT all morning. When we arrived, we were able to find convenient parking right off the patio. We decided to enter through the front door, and as many tables were available and we were told to sit anywhere, we chose a table at the front by the window. The tables and restaurant were comfortable and clean. We were offered menus and after a few minutes, the waitress, who was very friendly, took our drink order. Drinks came promptly, but then we waited. And... waited. A couple came in after we'd gotten our drinks and we're waiting to order our food, sat down, and were waited on-and the waitress took their order, despite them entering about 10 minutes after us. My friend and I discussed seeing this-and almost left. However, the waitress came to our table next and took our food order.2 other tables were waiting for food, and one guest asked how much longer it would be before their lunch was served. This group of guests had ordered just after we entered, and at this point we'd been there about half hour. They seemed happy when their food arrived, so we looked forward to being served as well.We waited another 40 minutes and my friend asked how much longer our food would be. The waitress said there was only one cook there, and it shouldn't be much longer. About 15 minutes later, we were served. My food was good, however it was not as expected. I got a Thanksgiving melt which said it was served on toast. It was served on toast ... One slice. It was not suggested as open faced or a single slice of toast, on the menu description. However, it was very good. The "gravy fries" it came with were like frozen store brand fries, tasteless. So, I dunked one in the gravy Id asked to get on the side. The gravy was mediocre at best... But I did dunk fries in them as they were tasteless. Even though the "sandwich?" or melt was good, I don't feel it was a $14 meal.My friend had asked the waitress to make her a drink, letting her know it was our first time there, and she really couldn't suggest any one thing. She delivered the drink to the table about 5 minutes after our ice waters came out, but didn't ever tell my friend what it was, or what was in it. She just said "I think you're gonna love it", and walked away. When the check finally came to us, it showed that the drink was a lavender lemon drop, it was small, dainty and light purple. It was also $10. My friend did not finish it, as she didn't think it was good. But no one ever asked her whether the drink was ok, either. She ordered a Reuben as her meal, and only ate 1/4 of it, and a few fries. She did get a box and bring it home, but wasn't in a hurry to finish it. We had also ordered shrimp cocktail as our appetizer, but the shrimp were water logged and dripping, and the cocktail sauce tasted like it had pickle juice in it?... She also ordered a side of onion rings to go when our meals were delivered, and we didn't get those until we were about to leave... Our total time there was an hour and 40 minutes.I chose this place because I love supporting local. I also love finding quaint little spots, as my husband and I have found some great food this way. I also love the story behind Spencer's place, and was very excited to visit.Overall, I am very glad we chose to stop there. The food was just ok, and took a long time to come to us. However, with only 2 people on staff, and 4 tables with guests or seated at the bar, I feel the cook and server did the best they could to keep guests comfortable despite the wait. All in all, the check came to $58.00. Was it worth it? I'm not sure. Would either of us visit again? I think we would. I'm hopeful that they can find the help they truly need, so that they can be bett

Spencer's Place is a one and done for me. I took my friend there for his birthday. He enjoyed his sandwich, but my steak tips were touch. I paid $2 extra to have sauteed onions and mushrooms on top of the tips. I received a spoonful of a shriveled up mass that I think had once been onions and mushrooms. And the waitress didn't have any knowledge of the special arrangements I had called ahead and made regarding my friend's surprise birthday dessert. Even though a piece of cake was eventually brought out, the surprise was ruined.

My boyfriend and I went here for our date night and were very happy we did! Lacey, I believe was her name, was our server and she was so nice, attentive and so pleasant! She made us feel at home and being a vegetarian, I was so happy that they had an awesome veggie burger!

We were really excited to try another local spot, unfortunately this will not be a spot we return to.The server was nice, had a smile on the whole time. They could be better about clearing plates and filling water. Minor details. The ambiance is decent, with some adjustments could feel more intimate and less "diner-esque".The food is bad enough that we both feel sick after choosing to eat here for our date night. Literally everything is fried to death. The fries are void of actual potato. The fish was encapsulated in batter that is akin to a corn dog in terms of thickness, thicker even in some spots. For the price, you hardly get any fish. The spinach and artichoke dip was also void of spinach/artichokes. It was a hot cream cheese dip, with that being the only flavor, no garlic, nothing. Served with unsalted chips and plain pieces of bread. My partners habanero burger seemed to be a frozen patty and was drenched in sauce... less is more. When bringing the absurd amount of batter to our servers attention she chuckled and mentioned that they hear that a lot. Interesting...So, as a chef or business owner you should start listening and make adjustments. Overall extremely unsatisfied that we spent $70+ on food at a restaurant that has no business charging these prices until further improvements toward the quality and flavor of the food are made.We are big foodies and generally have nothing but kind words for our local establishments. We want local places to thrive. From one business owner to another, I hope you heed this advice and do better.
