The restaurant is nestled in the beautiful town of Walpole. The staff was warm and welcoming. The food was fantastic, I had the steak frites and it was wonderfully prepared. The servers were attentive and polite. Couldn’t ask for a better dining experience.

We have been going to Burdick’s for years. Very upset that food quality was poor. We went for Oktoberfest and they were out of the weinershnetzel. It was not a large menu how could they be out of an Oktoberfest staple.
Also it was Oktoberfest. No German music. They really need to rethink this.
Atmosphere is a little tired. Needs an update.

Definitely not a
Small town NE restaurant. Found the menu to be a bit pretentious and pricey. I prefer something a bit more down to earth.

Lovely staff and the atmosphere is serene. The eggs Benedict was delicious and the brunch cocktails were perfect. The only suggestion would be to more cleanly shuck the oysters and serve them on a bed of crushed ice. The avocado toast was good and the field greens are a great compliment.

Went for my husbands bday. Made a reservation for 4 and received a call back later stating "due to staffing issues they are only serving lunch menu tonight and we should check their website to see if that would still work". So we did and it looked fine. When we got there we were given the Tuesday lunch special menu. It barely had anything worthwhile but we went ahead and ordered the 3 Salmon Salads and the 1 Steak Frites, 2 drinks from the bar and 2 glasses of wine. The Salmon salad had so much pepper in it that we were choking and coughing. We had to remind them to bring our dad his lemonade after 20 mins. My dad's steak (hanger) was so tough he could barely eat it and honestly the waitress was way to nonchalant, so the service was not up to par for a $228.94 bill. Not worth it! It used to be amazing...now not so much. Very disappointing both the service and meal.

My husband took me for dinner to Burdicks restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I'd been before with a friend for lunch and it was really very nice. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for dinner.Firstly we ordered the cheese plate to share which was nice. A mistake was made with the cheese I chose but the waitress made it right. My husband ordered the burger without all the trimings and regular fries. He was convinced that truffle oil had been added even though he specifically asked for them without it. Waitress assured him it hadn't been added. Needless to say he didn't eat them.I ordered the hanger steak which I asked for well done but came way undercooked. It was also very tough and the sauce tasted awful. The way the plate was presented was disgusting. What a mess! Sauce was all over the plate and the fries were soaking in it. Waitress did take it back to the kitchen but it really made no difference. She did her best but the food just wasn't good. I couldn't eat it.My dessert and coffee was given to me on the house which was a nice gesture. The whole experience was a huge disappointment and certainly didn't warrant the pricey check.Don't think we'll be back here.

Lovely, beautiful restaurant with amazing ambiance, but just ok service. I got the American breakfast. EVERYTHING was over cooked. My over medium eggs were well done like everything else on the plate. When asked for jelly for my toast, I was charged EXTRA. Really ? I mean, REALLY ????!!!!! Drove 45 minutes for special breakfast with my partner.I've eaten in many small diners across the country and overseas that may not have had the atmosphere, but had fantastic food. VERY disappointed.

One of my top 5 all time favorite restaurants. Only complaint is I have to choose from several favorite dishes and it's never easy. The burger is the BEST BURGER EVER and lemme tell you, I'm a burger snob. Ken's Salad is a classic and the salmon is always perfectly cooked. The quiche Lorraine feels like eating a hug. Salad always flawlessly dressed. The blue cheese dirty martinis and aperol spritz are top tier. Love the French onion soup on a chilly fall day. Obsessed with the fries. Seriously. It's all so good. I love to sit inside and outside and we've never had a bad waiter. Can't wait to go back.

We're extremely unimpressed. My lady and I went for our 4 year anniversary. Our reservations were at 6:30. We got seated and from there we felt mostly ignored the entire time. Especially when the staff catered mostly to the regulars and their friends coming through the door. One the wait staff even seemed to turn her nose up to us as she passed by.I'm a classically trained chef who's been the head chef of a few places and honestly I've never been more underwhelmed in my life...The food was way too expensive for how bland it tasted. We ordered a rib eye and their bistro burger. Both were cooked to specifications as far as doneness is concerned ish... but both lacked flavor. I can easily make better steak at home. The burger was soggy and completely raw in the middle, no bacon what so ever as was listed on the menu... plus I had to eat it with a knife and fork do to how wet it was minutes after it was placed on the table. Fries were fairly cold and poor quality...We went for a good night out, plus I just didn't want to cook for our anniversary. As far as desert is concerned... hard to mess that up right... wrong...Cremé brulee was 5 different textures. With a mild fishy flavor... didn't taste squat for hazelnut in the orange hazelnut cake...I've noticed people complaining about the same issues a few years ago. Change up your menu!!! And stop being so pompous that you ignore the complaints. You're not that special...We left extremely disappointed. Probably will never go back again. And I live close by.For those wondering if you should go do yourself a favor and save some money go to a long horns. It's cheaper and taste better. And to the restaurant if you're going to pass yourself off as a fancy restaurant... be a fancy restaurant!Do better!

A new chef seems to still be finding his or her footing. Hopefully the quality goes back up to pre-covid standards. The bartender does an excellent job, though.

I remember Burdick's as having good food and that was reliable. My friends took me to dinner last night and I have to say it was really disappointing. The steak was tough, the fries soggy and the salad needed dressing. The bench seats are uncomfortable, a draft was coming through the window at my back (almost put on my coat). Entering, we walked straight into a reservation table, through some annoying curtains, and exiting we walked straight into an exterior post. Very strange!Management comes and goes. I hope the old Burdicks will rise again!

We went here shortly after Christmas, I believe it was the 27th. I ordered the quiche, my parents had the gruyere omelette and my husband had a burger. We ordered a bottle of prosecco for the table, and ordered other drinks throughout the meal. We all had the fries, three of us truffle style. There were so many fries we were able to take them home and each get two more servings from them. Way too many. My quiche came out absolutely black burnt, the food runner put it in front of me and then dipped. Our waitress was seemingly reassigned to the bar and it took many minutes, maybe up to ten, to get anyone's attention. When I finally got someone's attention, I pointed out that my quiche was burnt and all they said was "yep" and took it away. No apologies, or offer of a complimentary drink while I waited and watched the rest of my family eat. Everyone was mostly done by the time my new quiche came out. It looked nice, but after a few bites it was actually cold in the middle, and underbaked. My family was done eating and I absolutely was not going to wait for another. We used Burdicks chocolate mice as favors at our wedding and previously had wonderful experiences here. We were visiting from out of town and were hoping for another amazing experience but were all kind of disappointed with the plainness of our food and the sub par service.

Our family of four loved everything! We appreciate the staff changing and updating our reservation due to the snow storm. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and amazing! Both of our daughters enjoyed their mocktails. The oysters were just perfect and everything was seasoned just right! Such a wonderful family meal together. Thank you so much!

4.5 stars. Burdick's has long been our favorite for special occasions, but some things were off at a recent holiday dinner. Service was attentive but slow, understaffed for a Saturday night. Oysters, onion soup, and desserts were outstanding, but mains were just okay. My oven roasted chicken, atop mashed potatoes and covered with potato strings, was tasty but a bit silly, like KFC on steroids. There was overall a lack of vegetables and color. Note on cost: a glance at the menu reveals that the per-person price of a meal with a glass of wine is in the $30‐50 range, $50-100 with appetizers and dessert.
