I am not from Jersey and had a different vision and definition of small, simple wedding than most brides that live in Jersey :) We were struggling to find something in SOUTH Jersey within our budget that could create the simple, fun, "us" ceremony and reception we wanted for our special day. We wanted to throw a huge party and FUN was our byword. I finally just googled "Barn Venues Near Me" and The Barn in the Gardens was the first suggestion. I reached out to Nicole and explained that I didn't like the terms rustic and farmhouse and hated burlap but was looking for a simple, laidback Woodland/Tea party vibe that incorporated books. We wanted dancing and lawn games and a fire pit where guest could roast s'mores and this venue delivered all that and more!Nicole is AMAZING! Her prices are reasonable and her packages are so inclusive of everything you would need for your special day. She has almost any decoration you would need and really listened to what we wanted and delivered. She is easy to deal with and her event space is perfect! It's been a month since our wedding and people are still telling us how wonderful and amazing the venue was and how much fun they had. Our guest had such a good time and loved Nicole and the space so much they are recommending The Barn in the Gardens to anyone they hear is in need of an event space - regardless of where in Jersey they live :)

I went to The Barn in the Garden today for the Elmer Market and car show. I bought a bottle of wine, and a box of beer bread mix and some bacon pepper jam. The venue is wonderful for like a wedding or a party. I was told they will have another car show there on October 2nd. I will be going again. Great place.

We’ve celebrated several happy occasions here and couldn’t be happier with how things have turned out each time. The website gives a full description of what is and isn’t included, so it’s clear what the venue is responsible for and what the host is responsible for. I’ve read a recent poor review from a guest and most of their complaints should be directed at the host and not the venue, it sounds like poor planning on the hosts part and not the services the venue provides. Like I said, I’ve had several events there and understood what were my responsibilities so there haven’t been any issues. We’ve had a wedding, baby shower and memorial luncheon there, so on the larger and smaller side for all of the events and each one was perfect. We’ve had nothing but compliments from our guests, they always love the unique atmosphere that is always very inviting. I never hesitate to recommend this venue, I feel like the owner is easy to work with and tries to be accommodating with reasonable requests, pricing is fair when compared to others and we’ve been more than happy with each event.

I recently held a graduation party for my son at The Barn in the Gardens. Let me start off by saying how beautiful the venue was. The barn did not disappoint. It is exactly how it is described in its name, a Barn in the Garden. The layout of the barn and the landscape is beautiful. I loved all the rustic features and the outdoorsy feel of the barn. I was very impressed with bar trailer on site and how lovely it was nestled on the property and adorably decorated. My guests were so impressed by the barn my niece is hoping for her baby shower to be held there. The owners were super accommodating and welcoming to my ideas for the event. I would definitely recommend The Barn in the Gardens to anyone.

Had a wonderful time here for a graduation party. The landscaping is super nice with an abundance of character. The host was very accommodating and worked with us to fill all our needs. Will definitely recommend to friends!

Unfortunately, this venue leaves much to be desired and If I could give less then 1 star I would most certainly do so. Let's talk about the grounds of the facility first. The walkways were either grass or broken up uneven gravel or uneven pavers and in some areas just dirt. The landscaping was overgrown or dead. There was a couple flowered hanging baskets but they did not distract from the ultimate view of the dilapidated property. Walking into the barn it's exactly as it sounds- A barn. There were a few (maybe 3 or 4) small tables that seated 4 people. The rest of the area was open as a "dance floor" There were some scattered non matching furniture pieces around the barn, but some had stains on them. Walking out of the barn to a patio with 2 sets of patio furniture (which was fairly newer). step down off the patio leads to the above mentioned grounds and a big tent for the guests to sit. The tent itself had holes in the top of it so thank goodness it didn't rain. There wasn't enough seating for the guests so some people left. If you wanted to have a cocktail you would have to walk (carefully) to an old small trailer type of structure again with overgrown landscaping. Have to go to the bathroom? Your more then welcome to use the port a potties on site. Want to wash your hands? There's a tin basin with a spigot and a kitchen towel to dry your hands (which for 100+ people can get very wet). As for the food which apparently wasn't from the venue (but the venue assumed care of it) was left open probably an hour + before we were able to eat had flies and gnats flying on and around it. Dessert was never announced and no one knew where it was. The party ended at 10pm and the cake wasn't cut until 915pm. I saw guests packing up the food because the venue left it out. It seemed there was zero organization and no one readily available to ask for things.

Helen's Cafe hosted my daughter's 5th birthday party. Everyone had a blast. The staff is so friendly and the food was great. The giant pavilion In the gardens was wonderful as it rained on and off, but nobody got wet. Thank you for making her birthday an awesome one.

A lovely outside venue that shines bright in quaint, homey Alloway Township. Pinterest-worthy decor and lighting. It's what Spring/Summer/Fall dreams are made of! Very accommodating if you need an off-menu vegetarian or vegan option. I had a wonderful veggie burger with avocado and a friend had a veggie burrito. BYOB or Auburn Road Winery wines available for purchase. I only wish they were open more often, and maybe that they would ditch the plastic chairs!

Stumbled across this lovely place on our way to the beach. We loved it so much we stopped again on our way home. Absolutely beautiful family, excellent food, fantastic prices. Great outdoor seating with room for the kids to wonder and feed the fish. Can't say enough good things! Will be back next year:)
