Shout out to management for being vigilant. To Victoria for supporting the bar by running out sides of ketchup to us while the bar was slammed. Dillon and Matt were super great. Wanna send them some special praise. Keep those 3 employees as long as possible.

The service was polite/friendly and not too in your face which we appreciate. It's a small establishment that's a little on the dark side, the music was a little loud for the size of the space. We went during happy hour, there was one other table with guests at the time. We ordered 2 dozen oysters and 2 dozen clams, beer and a cocktail. We found it odd they only had a selection of 4 oysters to choose from and only 2 beers on draft. The cocktail was ok, nothing to write home about. The oysters were flavorless and the mignonette was just ok. We had to ask for extra lemon as we were only given 2 wedges for 24 oysters. The cocktail sauce was good and we were offered tobasco. It's a shame they didn't have extra horseradish like most oysters houses provide/offer. It took 45 minutes for the clams to arrive and they were a mess. We could see the person behind the bar trying to shuck the clams and could tell he was struggling. When they arrived they torn up and also flavorless. We heard such great things about this place and were so disappointed. We wouldn't have minded the wait if they were busy, we'd totally understand. But not having a competent shucker at an oyster house is rather disappointing. Needless to say we won't be back.

It's definitely called a bar for a reason! The drinks were great, and everyone enjoyed the raw bar too. We wished we tried more appetizers, to keep in mind for the future! Service for entrees was a little slow, and although the food was fine I wouldnt come back for a big meal. The burger was good, although they don't ask how you would like it cooked, so they assume medium-well. What we did love was their teriyaki ketchup with the fries! The salads and the lobster roll were fine as well. I'm looking forward to trying their weekday happy hour in the future!

We stopped in yesterday for apps and drinks and had an awful experience. We got wings, oysters, a beer, and a cocktail. We would've ordered more but after the apps we decided not to bother. The oysters weren't properly cleaned and all 8 were grainy. They were also room temp which was super gross. Our wings were drowned in sauce and to the point where it was excessive and miserable to eat. The server brought both drinks and both apps at different times so we couldn't eat or drink with each other. We had to get up and ask for napkins and plates. The server never checked in or asked if we needed anything, so refills were a no go. All in all, a waste of time and $90.

Outstanding place. Tuna nachos are incredible! Slight issue with our order, but you can tell a lot from a place on how they handle an issue (mistakes happen). They handled it and the food was phenomenal. Will be a staple of an Asbury Park trip.

Asbury Oyster House: A Down-to-Earth Seafood Haven Away from the Boardwalk Hype!Tucked away snugly within the Asbury Convention Center, Asbury Oyster House offers a no-frills dining experience for folks looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the touristy boardwalk. This unassuming joint not only provides a peaceful retreat but also serves up a fine selection of locally sourced oysters and seafood delights that will leave your taste buds satisfied without burning a hole in your pocket. One of the standout features of Asbury Oyster House is the genuine dedication to showcasing the best oysters the region has to offer. The "shucker" here ain't shy about giving you the lowdown on the five or six different oyster varieties available. He takes pride in explaining the flavors and origins of each shelled beauty, making sure you're in the know as you dig into these briny treats. On my recent visit, I took it upon myself to sample every single oyster variety on the menu, and boy, was it a journey worth taking. From rich and buttery to crisp and subtly sweet, each oyster had its own distinct personality that kept me coming back for more. And let's not forget the fresh clams, my friends. Those little guys were as delicious as they come, delivering a satisfying taste of the sea with every juicy bite. It's clear that Asbury Oyster House takes pride in sourcing top-notch ingredients that make their seafood offerings shine. But here's the kicker, folks: the bartender and "shucker" in charge goes by the name of Scott S, and let me tell you, this guy is a force to be reckoned with. They call him "Shuck Norris" for a reason—he's a master of his craft, cracking open those oyster shells faster than you can say "seafood frenzy." Scott's a down-to-earth guy who not only knows his way around an oyster but also knows how to keep the good vibes flowing as he shares his knowledge and weaves captivating tales from the world of seafood. You can't help but appreciate his blue-collar work ethic and his passion for what he does. Now, let's talk about the prices, my friends. In a world where boardwalk joints seem to think they can empty your wallet with a smile, Asbury Oyster House is a refreshing exception. Here, you can savor an exceptional seafood feast without feeling like you've been taken for a ride. They keep it real with prices that won't leave you crying into your pint, offering a welcome haven for folks looking for quality without the gimmicks. In conclusion, Asbury Oyster House is a humble spot away from the boardwalk hype, serving up honest-to-goodness seafood flavors that hit the spot. The "shucker" will guide you through the oyster selection with a down-to-earth demeanor, and the fresh clams won't disappoint. With the charismatic "Shuck Norris" at the helm and prices that won't break the bank, this unpretentious gem in the Asbury Convention Center is the place to be for blue-collar foodies in search of a satisfying and wallet-friendly culinary experience.

Worst experience ever! I’m from out of town and decided to stop by while on the board walk and the waiter seemed very annoyed while seating us, but I wasn’t sure why? He didn’t say anything after seating us, just asked if we wanted to go inside or sit outside. He then placed the menus down on the table without another word. I assumed that the closing time was at 10pm and waited to order until sometime has passed and he still didn’t come back to the table. All he had to say is that we close at 9! Why be so ignorant!? There were people sitting at tables so why would I assume otherwise? I then tried calling after leaving to talk to someone about what he had done and they immediately hung up the phone twice! Communication is key and I will not be returning.

Happy hour was fabulous. Oysters & clams on the half shell, along with drink specials. Nice surprise when musicians began playing at 6! Very talented. Slow service.

The food was terrible. Plate was dirty. The 'rib eye' was absolutely not a rib eye. I don't know what it was but it was about 1/4-1/2" thick. Would not recommend.

Stopped by here for lunch while visiting Asbury. Oysters were fresh and the tapas were delicious. We were told it could be a long wait but it took only less than 5 minutes to get served. Kudos. Menu items are a bit pricey but I guess that's just Asbury Park pricing.

Nice, friendly place to stop for drinks and tapas on the Asbury Park boardwalk, inside the convention Center. Really enjoyed oysters, clams, and some tasty wings, along with a couple local IPA.
