Unbelievable fried chicken and the service is great — a real family type of place and they make you feel so welcome. Hidden off the main road. The food reminds me of my family’s Louisiana home cooking, it’s one of our favorite spots in the area for sure!

Thank you Chef Jan for your years of service to the community and making everyone who came and ate At The Table, feel like they were home. You will be missed but never forgotten. Glad we were able to eat one last time and champagne toast with you today. I have your number so I know where to find you! Love you!!

Food was awesome. Sadly they are closing March 1. The plate size was perfect to the price.

The food was delicious, huge portions with a nice variety to choose from. Ms Janice was very nice along with everyone else who was there. I would definitely recommend coming here and would definitely come back again.

My family came here for moms birthday. Great soul food spot with many down home choices from salmon cakes to fried chicken. The star are the sides!

One word: Salmon cakes. Let's make sure you get this right the first time. Repeat after me: Saaalmon cakes. If I want to be more specific (which I do and will) the plural 's' stands for -- ready?: A couple of nice plump, savory -- this means well-seasoned and not drowning in salt -- perfectly cooked salmon cakes. At least, I've never had burnt nor raw ones, and my family can vouch for this claim. So far. Also, you get a choice of black eyed peas rice or brown rice or kale...maybe there are others. Just check the menu or go straight to the welcoming family who owns slash serve your order with a steady side of warmth. Final word: Salmon cakes. Extra word(s): Mac and cheese. All I can say is: this is it. Eat it. Periodically repeat. Then deal with your consequence(s) later... (You only got yourself to blame for your lack of self-control... And don't get mad so quickly, be nice. The year's about to end, and that means another beginning... *hashtag: notetoself*) Bonus: located down the shore, baby! Asbury. What more could you ask??? Additional notes: Haven't gone back recently, though I should soon, but I'll look for photos I managed to take in the spring, summer, and fall without drooling all over my phone... -- promise. Wait, expecting much aren't we? Have you any idea at all how difficult it is to hold off devouring something sooo tempting right under your nose, and all for a mere snapshot? Seriously. Get a clue. And get the word while at it...: Saaalmon cakes. To end this lengthy commentary, I give this table 4 stars. Why 4? Because if you have been following my yelpings at all (in spite of my hiatus...) you'd know the story. And the story goes that humans are flawed. I speak for myself first. It's just the way I'm wired. My little mind can only comprehend and, hence, assign a perfect score to that unreachable, intangible (at least while we're still here...) place called heaven. Now go. Don't you have better things for your time than spend it on another one of my yelpings? Oh, no? Well, then read away, for food's and foodies' sakes. I'll be putting up more long-overdue reviews of stars and spots I've encountered thus far, as time permits... Go now. Be well.

Superb place - fantastic pasta and inexpensive too! The best thing is that they have gluten free option!! Open more places please!

Love love love At The Table!!! Short of traveling up to Harlem, this is as good if not better! And the fact that they can do so many items as Gluten Free puts them way ahead of much restaurants serving any kind of food. This place for both food allergy sufferers and non is amazing. They have both eat in and take out. If you're staying, plan on having a relaxing leisurely paced meal. One other note, make sure you check the hours that they are opened before heading out. BYO!!!

We enjoyed an amazing meal and the wonderful company of the owner and her family after a day at the Sea Hear Now festival. We grew up in southern Louisiana and have eaten a lot of great, southern food along the Gulf Coast. We found this place by chance, since we parked nearby. We were thoroughly impressed by the food. The food is made with fresh ingredients. The owner has adjusted recipes to make healthier versions taste even better than the usual. My husband had a generous amount of juicy fried chicken & perfectly cooked asparagus. We shared a black eyed pea and beet side salad. I had the tilapia with sweet potato topping. I wished I could have finished it all but my husband ended up eating my leftover fish as soon as we got to our truck. We both enjoyed generous servings of collard greens (Oh, those collard greens! ❤️❤️ I could have eaten them out of their supply.). The cornbread was perfect. We live four+ hours away but this place may be calling us back. If you’re fortunate enough to meet and talk with the owner, Janice, you’re in for the full treat.
