About Berkeley Bar

Berkeley Bar is a fabulous location with a very good breakfast cafe and pizza place on the ground floor. It is a great casual spot to eat and meet, with sunny and accommodating conference spaces. The hotel is clean and well-run, and the staff are helpful with requests and questions. The Penthouse Jr. room is described as awesome, with a beautiful bathroom and a comfy bed. The place has seen better days—some furniture shows wear, like cracked chairs and water-stained tables—but that’s minor stuff. Parking on the street is less expensive than the $50 daily fee. The on-premises Italian restaurant had fantastic tomato sauce but struggled with service, with long waits for drinks and food. The chicken parmesan was overcooked and the new chef was said to be inexperienced. The hotel is lucky to have Curtis, whose hospitality is above and beyond—whatever you need, he’s there. Overall, the hotel is pleasant, but the restaurant experience left much to be desired.
