White cruddy stuff on the blinds and on a picture ( don’t want to say what Ithink it is ) , holes in the curtains and they don’t match , tub won’t drain , AC is loud and doesn’t get cool enough, no refrigerator and the ice machine was broken . But that’s it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fabulous location. The desk staff won't tell you (?), but there is a very good breakfast cafe/pizza place right on the ground floor. Great casual place to eat and meet. The conference spaces, though some are inconvenient to get to, are sunny and accommodating. Excellent spots for presentations. Nice bars. BIG DRAWBACK: the hotel pumps in heavy fragrance in all common areas. Made some of my fellow conferees ill. Otherwise, amazingly clean and well run!

I booked this last minute since I couldnt find my other reservation. I did miss the entrance on the street a couple of times but when I walked in-it was absolutely beautiful. The check in was great. I was a little early but they let me to my room. I was floored. I got the Penthouse Jr. and it was awesome. I had a beautiful bathroom, a very firm couch, a desk and chair, mini fridge, and a super comfy bed with comfy pillows. I never went to the lounge since I was there for a concert at Terminal 5 (which was in walking distance)

This is a terrible, run down property. The rooms are disgusting for any traveler who stays in anything nicer than a Holiday Inn. The carpets are wet in the rooms. The hallways are dirty. The building is nearly 100 years old and you can see and feel that across all aspects of your stay. I would sincerely recommend staying down the block at The Asbury Hotel. Save yourself the trouble of overpaying for a dirty stay. I don't want to tarnish the staff or their efforts, there is simply nothing they can do to overcome a lack of investment in the propery.

The Hotel was mostly pleasant and maintained though you could see it has been around for a while. They, like many hotels, have a daily resort fee and parking is $50 per day. The hallways to the rooms were dimly lit with tiny spotlights, like in some sci-fi movie. Coupled with the choice of dark brown, black, and gold for carpeting didn’t convey a friendly fun atmosphere. They have an on prem restaurant which we decided to give a try. It’s an Italian themed venue. The waitress was very good, and the tomato sauce /gravy was fantastic! But they did not have their S#7t together. We ordered 2 glasses of a “House” cabernet that took 25 minutes to arrive at the table. 25 mins?? The waitress explained they were out of that and had to run out to the store and purchase some. Again… huh?? After the appetizers we waited another 35 min for our simple order or chicken parmesan. We were told that they forgot to put our order into the kitchen. The chicken was burnt, and they also had used very thin cut cutlets which had turned to leather. Now we were told they had a new chef who was not up to speed. Again… Huh?? When we got check(s) we were present with a separate one from the bar for the wine. $14 per glass for “House” cab. The bill said it was Josh Cellars Reserve. “House cab”?? So Hotel is OK, …. The restaurant…. Not at all.

Ok I like to give my reviews as pros & cons Pros: Location, close to beach & boardwalk across the street, spacious if dated room, cool AC, amenities like the pool, patio areas, ping pong tables, pool table, friendly front desk staff, dog friendly, comfy beds & lots pillows, clean, adequate storage space Cons: Loud even on top floor very late at night, very loud hallways very late at night (I think they get a lot of wedding parties), bathrooms are tiny & awkward, sinks are sooo low & don’t drain, no fridge or microwave in room which you would expect at this price point, not even a coffee maker but there is free coffee in the morning at the cafe, $70 for our small SUV to park which is kind of ridiculous after summer season is over (would be expected in season tho), dog friendly can get annoying with all barking, cafe doesn’t make food to order, things are premade & I received 2 stale croissants, make other breakfast plans which is a pain!!! All in all, I would not stay here again at this price point but would consider it at a lower price in the future, however not excited to come back.

Staff was very friendly, room was clean and updated, location is perfect, dinner was very good! Pool was a bit over crowded but it was 90 degrees and sunny on holiday weekend, cool bar at the pool made up. Great stay

The hotel mezzanine was beautiful, if a bit underutilized. The pingpong and billiards table was nice to see activity in the lobby, but it got a bit rowdy with the late night crowd. The valet service is understandably a bit pricey$50-70 for being beachside. However, after I told the valet staff my ticket number, he said he would go to get the car. Half an hour later, I checked to see the progress and delay, and another valet staff member said the ticket was never processed. He quickly got the car but the delay was inconvenient. Beautiful hotel front and location. In house pizza bar and cafe open late hours is nice. Everybody comments on the dated interior, but it has considerable charm. The rooms could use stock mini fridges/microwaves/coffee machines. And the windows for ocean view rooms are locked, so if condensation builds up from the humidity, you cannot unfortunately open the windows. So the ocean view becomes wasted.

I’m not sure why the reviews of this hotel are so bad. I thought it was very nice. It’s a historic hotel, so of course it’s not going to be brand spanking new. It’s in a great location, right across from the beach. The woman at reception who checked us in was super nice and friendly. It was clean and the furnishings and decor seemed updated. It was interesting to read about the history and the history of Asbury Park in the lobby display. The pool was nice (only bad thing about it was the screaming kids, but that’s the parents fault, not the hotels). Had a great martini and conversation with the bartender in the hotel bar. (Wednesday night in August, forget his name) .Most NJ Shore hotels are way worse than this one. There is a brand new hotel In Asbury Park if you want to pay three times the price.

The room at the Berkeley had some concerning maintenance issues. The carpet was torn in places, and the doors and windows did not seal properly, allowing noise from the hallway and outside to filter in. There was a damp, moldy smell, likely due to the bathroom lacking ventilation. The air conditioning vents showed signs of previous mold remediation efforts. The room appeared to have been renovated on the cheap, with little attention to detail. When I tried to call the front desk, the phone often went unanswered for long stretches. For the nightly rate charged, I expected better upkeep and service than what I experienced at this hotel.

If you want a pool and to be across the street from the Ocean, probably the best most reasonable option in AP. Close to everything on foot, tons of food and drink and music options, wonder bar and stone pony. Beds were good, decent sized room. Room lacked a small refrigerator, no accessible power outlets in room 715, unplug the TV if you want to charge a phone. Pool area was nice and the wait / bar staff very friendly. Word of advice to the pool area staff.......you could make a fortune in drinks/tips if you would look around as you walk amongst people looking to be served, scan the crowd, stop staring at the floor.

We had four rooms reserved and had to push two back by a week. We were told over the phone it wouldn’t be a problem and that was reiterated at check in. However we were charged for all four rooms with no changes made. Poor service and communication from the front desk, zero follow up with customer service and we’re out $1000 that cost the property about 40 future nights while we support a project in town. We will not be back.

The location is great. We went on the holiday weekend and it was very busy for parking. The rooms are good with King Beds. It's an older hotel and we've been here before. Friendly staff. Great boardwalk with great options throughout the day and night. Many options for eating out and the staff gave us some local suggestions that were perfect.
