I don't know what was better...the food or our server Dylan. All his recommendations were excellent and on point. Will definitely be recommending to others as well as coming back soon.

I’ve eaten there many times and the food is wonderful. Also the servers are very friendly, welcoming and professional. They really take care of you! My favorites are Sarah and Judy! They are sisters! Flavia’s is fantastic!

Sarah is an amazing server! She’s kind, attentive, genuine, respectful, and so much fun. (And she’s actually a six star cook herself too!!! 🤫)

If I could give 10 stars, I would (but I guess Google has rules)

Let me set the scene: I walked into Flavia's Cucina hungry, slightly grumpy, and convinced no meal could cure the existential dread I’d built up during the week. And then… Sarah appeared.

This woman is not just a server. She’s a culinary fairy godmother with a notepad. She knew the menu like it was Shakespeare. Her recommendations? Divine. Her timing? Impeccable. Her vibe? Immaculate. She floated to our table like a breeze of hospitality and made us feel like we were royalty who had just returned from war. I would trust her with my life—or at least with my appetizer choices.

Speaking of which: THE ARTICHOKES. I don’t know what kind of spell Flavia cast on those things, but they were buttery, lemony, crispy magic. I had one bite and saw my ancestors nodding in approval. I thought I didn’t even like artichokes. Turns out I’ve just never had them touched by the hands of the gods (and plated by Sarah).

And then came the truffle gnocchi. Excuse me while I weep. Perfectly pillowy, rich in truffle, just the right amount of creamy without being clingy. Like the kind of relationship you wish you had. I considered proposing to the plate. My date understood. Even encouraged it.

All in all, Flavia’s is now my Roman temple of deliciousness. And Sarah? Sarah is the high priestess. Go for the food, stay for Sarah. You’ll leave full—in belly and in spirit.

Flavia's is the best restaurant in Asbury Park NJ. The food is incredible, ambiance is amazing, right in the center of town. You will be so happy you chose Flavias.

Our server, Dylan, was exceptional! He was very friendly and provided outstanding service—even though it was a very busy night, he was able to provide the same good care of his other customers. (See photos of the him in action at the table next to ours.) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved the vibe, decor, service and BYO. Both women hostesses were warm & inviting. Our waiter, Dyl was great. The rigatoni with mushrooms, shrimp & pancetta was excellent. The lollipop lamb chops were disappointing & the bread was awful. Recommend serving quality bread, especially since it is first food impression. Overall a very good experience. Look forward to returning and trying the burrata & a meat entree.

Let me say that the server was great, the atmosphere is fantastic, and it is decorated really well. BYOB, though they do sell some wine.

Food is overall very good, but they have a policy of ZERO SUBSTITUTIONS — not even a sauce or grilled versus breaded chicken. This bizarre policy makes me question the freshness of their food, and if you read other reviews, you will read that the food is not consistently of a high quality.

Gnocchi is not pinched and instead looks like mini scallops. It was not that good. Maybe would’ve been better if I could’ve had sauce with it, but since I ordered the portion that comes with broccoli rabe, no dice.

Salad was salty.

Dolce Fantasia is across the street. Belmonte’s is a few blocks west. Do yourself a solid and choose either one of those places. You will have amazing food with much more accommodating service.

I will probably NEVER go back.

Vegetarian options: Unable to make substitutions. Choose carefully or pick another restaurant.

Dietary restrictions: They *may* make exceptions to their substitution policy to accommodate restrictions. Tonight’s request was denied.

Parking: Summer parking will be a challenge.

Wheelchair accessibility: One step up from street level. Unsure if they have a movable ramp.
