Loved the vibe, decor, service and BYO. Both women hostesses were warm & inviting. Our waiter, Dyl was great. The rigatoni with mushrooms, shrimp & pancetta was excellent. The lollipop lamb chops were disappointing & the bread was awful. Recommend serving quality bread, especially since it is first food impression. Overall a very good experience. Look forward to returning and trying the burrata & a meat entree.

Delicious BYOB. Cozy, casual atmosphere and great service. Our server, Dil, was charming and kind; only enhancing the meal! Highly recommend the Papparadelle Tartufo!!!

Let me say that the server was great, the atmosphere is fantastic, and it is decorated really well. BYOB, though they do sell some wine.
Food is overall very good, but they have a policy of ZERO SUBSTITUTIONS — not even a sauce or grilled versus breaded chicken. This bizarre policy makes me question the freshness of their food, and if you read other reviews, you will read that the food is not consistently of a high quality.
Gnocchi is not pinched and instead looks like mini scallops. It was not that good. Maybe would’ve been better if I could’ve had sauce with it, but since I ordered the portion that comes with broccoli rabe, no dice.
Salad was salty.
Dolce Fantasia is across the street. Belmonte’s is a few blocks west. Do yourself a solid and choose either one of those places. You will have amazing food with much more accommodating service.
I will probably NEVER go back.
Vegetarian options: Unable to make substitutions. Choose carefully or pick another restaurant.
Dietary restrictions: They *may* make exceptions to their substitution policy to accommodate restrictions. Tonight’s request was denied.
Parking: Summer parking will be a challenge.
Wheelchair accessibility: One step up from street level. Unsure if they have a movable ramp.

Early seating on Saturday evening. The fried artichoke hearts for starters were ok but could feed an army. Sometime later entrees served but exceptional.

Fantastic service--laid back atmosphere. And the food-I am a total snob when it comes to what passes for Italian food here in the US. Flavia's gets it right-with authentic Roman flavors and dishes. Pasta is perfectly al dente. The ricotta and pistachio cake is as good as the pasticcerie in Italy--specifically in the South. Bring yourself a good bottle of wine and enjoy the experience. Ci vediamo presto.
Flavia’s has a very quaint atmosphere. Having the choice of so many FRESH gnocchi is amazing and the service has been excellent every time I’ve been here. Such a great BYOB spot

Went to Flavias a few weeks ago on a weekday night. First reaction when we entered was the restaurant was super cute cozy and trendy. Our server Arianna and other wait staff were kind and attentive. They were super helpful with my tree nut allergy. The Gorgonzola gnocchi were scrumptious and we thoroughly enjoyed the other food items as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will for sure be back!

My fiance and I went to flavias on Christmas Eve and as always we were blown away. Not only was the food great, the service was incredible. We were celebrating our engagement anniversary and our waitress Angeles went above and beyond to make us feel special, and make our experience great. I will always recommend flavias, however, after my last dining experience I cannot recommend another restaurant more. Thank you flavias and Angeles :)

We booked a group of approx 30 which is never easy. We worked with Andrea to coordinate the experience which went off without a hitch. The group menu choices were diverse and paired nicely. The food presentation was professional, and the service was outstanding. Every course (from Pasta to Steak) was excellent and cooked to perfection. Everyone raved about the night!!

Had one of the best pasta dishes while vacationing in the Jersey Shore! Such a cute and quaint Italian restaurant. Had the Rigatoni Con Funghi and I wish I lived closer so I could have it once a week. The greens that came with my wife’s meal were 10/10 we still talk about this meal and experience from September
Our night at Flavia’s was absolutely lovely! The food, atmosphere and service are impeccable. It had such a cool and cozy vibe! Will definitely be back!

Disappointing Experience Despite Good Location and Atmosphere
We chose Flavia based on its convenient location and positive reviews, hoping to find a spot that was relatively close to our cousins. Our first impression of the restaurant was favorable; it’s well-decorated and has a nice atmosphere. However, the experience quickly soured once we looked at the menu.
Flavia’s menu mainly revolves around overpriced pasta dishes, with just four types of pasta available, each paired with a variety of sauces. Prices change depending on the sauce selection, but the menu is quite rigid—there’s no room for customization. For example, we asked for extra bread and were told it would incur an upcharge. While this wasn’t a major issue, we were taken aback by the lack of flexibility.
Things took a turn when a member of our party asked for a “to-go” order for her son who was at home. When placing the order she asked if they could substitute plain pasta instead of the potatoes and vegetables on a chicken dish. The response? An additional $16 charge for the pasta, which, according to our server, was "imported pasta." The total price for the dish would have been over $50, which struck everyone as absurd. She did not place that order. We then asked to speak with the manager, Domenick, who confirmed that no accommodations would be made—no substitutions, no adjustments.
It was frustrating to spend $1,120 on a meal for 13 people that was, at best, average in terms of flavor and portion size, only to encounter such inflexibility. For a restaurant charging such premium prices, it’s disappointing to see the lack of customer accommodation, especially from the management.
Recommendation: If you’re looking for a place with reasonable prices and some flexibility in menu options, Flavia is not the right choice. The experience felt overly focused on upcharging, which left a sour taste despite the decent atmosphere.

Flavia’s Cucina Romana is a wonderful spot for a great meal. At this point, we’ve lost count of how many times we’ve come, and we have NEVER had a bad meal.
Tonight the lamb shank special was excellent—tender, flavorful, and served with a rich, well-balanced sauce that tied the whole dish together. The chicken piccata special was also a highlight, with just the right amount of lemon and capers to complement the perfectly cooked chicken. Both dishes showed thoughtful preparation and attention to detail that left a lasting impression.
Our server, Mia, made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering helpful suggestions that guided us to these standout specials. Mia’s warm demeanor added a personal touch to an already enjoyable evening. Flavia’s is a place we’ll definitely return to, and we’re excited to try more from their menu. Five stars!
