Low Dive in Asbury Park is an absolute disgrace in how they treat customers- specifically the security. This past Friday night, a group of 20 of us, all 22 or 23 years old, arrived around 11 PM. The bouncer immediately denied us without even checking everyone’s IDs. He took the first PA license, claimed he “couldn’t see the UV,” then rejected three more IDs, including a VALID PASSPORT, before telling all of us to leave and refusing to even look at IDs from New Jersey or New York. He was rude, dismissive, and refused to let us speak to a manager.
This isn’t even the first time. Last summer, when we were all 21, we were denied entry again without reason. That time, the excuse was simply that the bouncer “didn’t like our IDs.” This is clearly a pattern of arbitrary decisions, abuse of authority, and power-tripping behavior from staff.
Every single one of us is of legal age, and we’ve been let in here before, including just last weekend. The fact that they continue to humiliate paying customers with valid IDs while showing no accountability or professionalism is appalling. We went to other nearby bars that same night with zero issues, proving the problem is unique to Low Dive.
Low Dive is unprofessional, disrespectful, and a stain on Asbury Park’s nightlife. If you look young, don’t expect fairness, respect, or even basic decency here.

With a fantastically friendly staff and management, or most of them - some know how to keep in touch but haven't. Last Friday I called police on sound manager Peter Mantas who went from being creepy to screaming and cursing and threatening me. By the following day the owner, Tim McMahon , trespassed me. He didn't even object to video I took where he contradicts himself numerous times. I am a disabled and Honorably Discharged Navy Veteran. United We Stand is about joining together with those we like or don't like even if we don't like them. The owner claims my music is terrible and staff doesn't like me around. The staff should be upset to hear this and it is in writing in one of the police reports. Staff has generously tipped me to say the least along with customers. Maybe I don't have the right to say I wish you all would say if he or she goes than I go. i do have the right to say i would do it for you. Guess ill be lucky if anyone reading this would even meet half way and give me the time of day. I couldn't take a paycheck in silence or buy drinks as a customer. Is it none of your buisness when someone is being bullied by owner and sound manager ? If you claim you don't want to get involved than consider your silence and enjoying their company is supporting them especially if you won't give me the time of day. I will attempt to post photos of me with saxophone and in my Navy jersey. My dog Melody too. Of course they will delete what they can or criticize me. UNITED WE STAND

Came here before a show for a happy hour and loved it. Great selection of beers on tap and “lucky one” lemonade that partly goes to benefit animals in need. The art on the wall was so vibrant and fun and they had the perfect playlist going for the event. Def want to come back when we’re in the Asbury area and see a band play! Immaculate chill vibes, perfect for watching the waves before a show or just a fun day out :)
Came out on a Friday for a friend’s bday party… such a fun time! DJ Atom Worth crushed the Yacht Rock night and had every person in the place dancing! Such a fun vibe for everyone to enjoy! Highly recommend!

Best 21st
Bouncers and manager were rude and rejected ID’s even though we are over 21 even after verification. Just lost our groups business for life. Do not come here if you are 21-23. They do not want your business
Amazing place and they loves dogs.
$75 for three drinks and an appetizer. Pretty sure they ripped me off but that’s what happens in Jersey.
bouncer named dave (don’t think it was his real name but whatever) freaked out on me when i showed him my ID. he looked at it for 2 seconds and told me he “didn’t like how it looked” and that i couldn’t come in because it was “crooked” im 23 years old its my real ID lmfao and then called my friends pussies for standing up for me don’t know what his issue is and he refused to check my credit cards to verify that it’s real, the other bouncer was no help. he tried to fight my friends outside the bar. literally insane never had this happen to me before
