We love(d) Porta so much we had our wedding here in 2023 but every time we’ve returned since I’ve been slightly more disappointed each time. It’s starting to feel like a rip off for the amount of food you get for the cost, and a lot of the servers are sort of standoffish and unfriendly, and the hostesses are pretty clueless/inexperienced.

Our son and now daughter-in-law held their wedding at Porta Asbury Park on Halloween. Everything was exceptional. The atmosphere was perfect, the food delicious, the staff attentive and professional. They set everything up exactly how the newlyweds wanted it to be set up and did it in a very short amount of time. Extra shout out to our son and his new wife for organizing a spectacular evening. do not go out at night here. security put my boyfriend what looked like a chokehold while kicking him out when he literally didn’t do nothing and was just standing in line to use the bathroom. Then we proceeded to ask why he was kicked out and they either said “i don’t know” or “we cannot say”. super unprofessional you don’t treat people like that it was very inhumane and traumatizing on my end. I would understand if you get kicked out for starting a fight but this has also happened with someone else I know for literally just existing.

They racially profiled my boyfriend and patted him down claiming they were patting down “everyone in line” when they didn’t pat down any white people. Then the employee proceeded to chase me down through the line yelling at me that I shouldn’t be claiming it was racially motivated while another employee tried to pull him away from me. As we entered the facility another black man came up to us stating that they did the same exact thing to him and then they patted down our Asian friend who was in shorts and a t-shirt so there was very obvious reasons not to pat these people down other than their race. Very disappointing will never go back.

Food is great but the managers could care a bit more about their place of employment. You tell them their delivery services are not functioning correct and they seem to think thats a suggestion not something worth fixing. They really should stop doing delivery if they don't care about it.

I've been here so many times with my husband over the years and the food and service were always great, so we booked a small private party here for our wedding reception and were seriously disappointed. We had 35 people and opted for the long table against the wall in the main dining room. Our guests arrived first and we arrived about 20 minutes later after pictures. When we got there, our server didn't acknowledge us for drinks for 15 minutes (I've served for a long time and you always acknowledge the people who paid or the bride and groom first.. we were both). She continuously forgot my dad's drink order (he was paying for drinks so it wasn't ideal) and had to be reminded a few times. Lastly, they had one server on our table and it was clear that she had a few other tables so was running around like crazy and very hard to get ahold of when we needed something. I had to keep getting up to get someone's attention which prompted dirty looks from the staff that were standing by the kitchen. I will always love this place for a quick meal, but never again will we hold or recommend Porta for a private party. With the money we spent, I believe we could have had better service elsewhere not to mention no dirty looks from the staff for looking like I was bothering them.
UPDATE: I reached out to Karina as the owner requested and it’s been over a week with no response.

Super loud, expensive, and extremely limited menu (especially if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg). Picnic style seating so when it's crowded you could be bumping arms with the stranger next to you. Pizza took obscenely long to arrive!

First visit. Seated around 2:15 outside 10/4. Waitress was not friendly at all. Definitely don’t think hospitality should be a career for her. Seemed bothered by us. Was just trying to have lunch with my wife and grandkids.

We had a great experience! My husband and I sat at the bar for dinner. We started with meatballs, which were absolutely delicious!! My husband had a pizza and I had the raviolis. Both were so good. Paul, the bartender, was so welcoming and personable! We will definitely be back to sit at Paul’s bar!
