$80 for food poisonning and sickness. We ordered the gumbo and a burger. The gumbo was over salted and way overpriced. Came back home and both of us fell sick within an hour. There was no cleanliness. We were seated at the bar and one of the bar tenders sprayed alcohol all over my hair. Terrible service.

I'm adding additional information to my original review. I went back to the R Bar and the same issue occurred. I ordered two glasses of grapefruit juice which were listed as $4 on the menu. I gave the bartender a 20 and received $9 in change. There was no receipt explaining the charge only a paper that said I was due $9.34 in change which they rounded down and gave me nine. Adding New Jersey sales tax, $8 would be $8.53. I was charged $11. When I questioned at the bartender claimed she had no idea why and handed me $2. So apparently my complaint from last time was not a one-time thing. The prices are whatever they feel like charging you at the time not what it says on the menu.
I purchased two glasses of wine that were $11 printed on the menu and $11 on the online menu when the bill came they decided they were $15. While they did credit me after I questioned it the response was next time you have to note that prices are subject to change. So be aware prices are not what they are advertised! If I did not question it my bill for two wines would have been $8 additional or 36% more than what the menu read.

Food here was solid. Everything we had was good. Cocktails were decent, but a bit too sweet IMO, but if that's your jam, that's good. Maybe it's true Bourbon St vibes. I probably would go somewhere else rather than return here, but it's not bad.

Always love coming here to see what's changed on the menu or for the blue crab beignets.

The staff here was very nice. We went on a weekday night. It's closed early. The food was good and everything was reasonably priced. We first went to the outside area it was nice and cozy but a little chilly so we moved inside.

Lovely looking place but the gumbo was thin and way over priced with very little in it..roux was tasty but for the money wasn't much to it .

Great vibe and excellent service. Place is in a little dicey of a neighborhood. There is no parking lot, you have to park on the main road or residential side streets. Pork chop was a 10. Steak tartare was a miss for me. It was over seasoned with some sort of dressing and it was ice cold. Usually it’s closer to room temperature. Roasted oyster app was delicious. Big miss for me was the deviled eggs. I love a classic deviled egg and this was far from it. I didn’t like the flavor or texture. My wife had fried shrimp po-boy while was very big. I tasted a shrimp from it and it was fantastic. A nice fresh shrimp and properly fried. I didn’t try the gumbo. But it was in a very thin broth. I personally enjoyed a thicker gumbo with lots of okra and roux. My wife loved the cocktails.

We love this place. Everything is top notch. We sat at the bar and watched the bartender make an assortment of amazing, unique drinks. Staff is friendly and the food and service were a 10. Jazz Trio was a soothing background perfecting this city like bar/restaurant setting. We will continue to go there. One of our favorite spots.
Have dined here several times. Lively atmosphere with bar area and table service. Menu is creative with good specials. Service is friendly and consistent. Enjoy bring friends and family because we know it will be good at this well-run establishment.
Cajun influences abound in the menu. Loved blue crab in soup and appys. Funky and relaxing atmosphere. Cocktails were a standout. Like to see a couple more wine by the glass options.
We were outside on R patio and the atmosphere was great, we could actually hear each other talking. The food is alway great and our waitress “Chuck” was absolutely outstanding. FYI the beignets and oysters are out of this world.
Nice environment!
