Great vibe, quick service, consistently amazing food! I normally sit at the bar, friendly atmosphere, locals in winter, lots of vacationers summer season. Walkable around town and up to the boardwalk. Sushi always fresh, service always great.

Beyond delicious!!!! Not pictured was the best of all, chili shrimp appetizer. So so so good. Danielle was fabulous! We enjoyed everything and will be back. Such a fun vibe too. Great cocktails! For Asian food they were also super accommodating to GLUTEN FREE. They were able to make most soy dishes GF, that was an extra bonus!!!

Have been to Taka 4 times in the last 8 years. Each time - I have said to myself I would never return. Each time I have been cajoled into returning by people encouraging us that it’s very good and we must have had a singular bad experience. Came back to Taka tonight since it was the only place in Asbury that still looked lively at 7:45 at night. We ordered several menu items including hot appetizers (chili shrimp - overcooked, Edamame dumplings - pasty with no flavor, and pork guoza - mediocre and atleast edible). The chicken “curry” was actually inedible with a flavor reminiscent of the powder packet that comes with supermarket ramen noodles. The sushi (firecracker roll and salmon aburi) was really not to our liking and felt a strip mall sushi would have been similar in quality if not better! In all, I think Taka has a great location, nice vibe, great service and appears to be a well run establishment …..EXCEPT for the food! I will not return!

Amazing food and experience. Our servers Alexander and Katrina were the best! The Spicy Rosa Rita is a must try. Also recommend the crispy spicy tuna and short ribs for appetizers. The sushi is so fresh and the portions are great. So many different options and everything is amazing. Can’t wait to come back soon.
I really want to give them a 5, but they always put the to go wasabi and ginger in the same tray as the sushi and I always forget to ask not to do that. The logical thing would be to put it in the round cups they put the eel sauce in. I hate wasabi and ginger and it always disappoints me that some of my sushi gets ruined. Otherwise, this is the best sushi in NJ!

Had a reservation at 5pm and was seated right away for a group of 4. We decided to eat outside. Restaurant is spacious, the outdoor seating area was a little more cramped and the chairs were a bit wobbly. The staff was friendly and attentive. Food arrived in a timely manner as well.
The cocktails here are boozy and delicious.
For apps we got the pork fried rice balls and the pork baby back ribs. The rice balls were excellent. Came out super hot and the texture was so crunchy. The fried rice filling was full of delicious flavor. The baby back ribs were on the sweeter side and fell off the bone. Really enjoyed the flavor.
For entree I got the braised short rib. Also came out piping hot and was truly impressed by this dish. Portion size is generous as well. The short ribs were super tender and flavorful. The green beans weren't really seasoned but honestly was not needed with how flavorful the short ribs and sauce was. The wasabi mash was such a nice twist on the typical mash it really brought the whole dish together. The fried onions on top added a nice crunchy texture.
For dessert I got the orange and creamsicle gelato. Super delicious and creamy way to end the meal.

The food is always so good here. My husband loves the ribs. I love the rainbow roll and green salad. They also have great apps. And if you drink you have to get a blackberry margarita. They are amazing! This is a great spot for groups or for a date. Definitely recommend making a reservation though if you want to sit at a table.
