American Bar & Grille NEVER disappoints. We come here every single time we stay at the Borgata. The ambiance and decor are warm and inviting and the seating is such that you don't feel crowded, even when the restaurant is packed. The servers and their teams always provide exceptional service and food & beverages delivered very promptly. This visit on 7/26 we were a party of 5 and had exceptional service from Vincente who took excellent care of us. The chef is amazing and we have enjoyed everything we've ever ordered since this restaurant opened. Menu changes a bit with the season and the summer menu is great. We started with Jersey Corn soup--to die for and the Berkshire Farm pork ribs ,which comes with cornbread is always a must-have app. Entree highlights this visit were the Branzino special, swordfish over a bed of jambalaya and the grilled pork chop. The trio of sides is a great economical option and allows for sharing as the portions are generous. Definitely recommend to make a reservation, which is very easy via the MGM app. Had we paid full price it would have worked out to be $60+ per person but use Borgata comps if you have them. Highly recommend.

Came in around 7:30pm on a Sunday with no reservation. Only seats available were at the bar until 8pm. No problem. Space was cleaned up right away and our orders taken. Woodford Old Fashioned was fine. The pear martini was mixed and poured in front of us with a nice little flourish. And it was delicious with surprisingly delicate pear notes. Was looking for light fare so we just ordered Brussels sprouts, truffle garlic fries, and spicy Italian sausage pizza. Fries were amazing with little globs of garlic, Parmesan, and parsley all around. Sprouts were crisply cooked with a sticky sweet (but not too sweet) glaze. The pizza was a little unexpected - rather than little chunks of sausage, it was a wide slice of what looked like bologna. Pizza itself tasted good but there’s a nonna somewhere offended with what they called Italian sausage. Place looked nice and the place was definitely abuzz with patrons.

Usually have a better experience, but I don't think we'll be returning after our recent visit.

First, the dirty seat.
Second, the waiter who poured the water spilled it all over our silverware and plates.
Third, could not understand our waitress at all. She made a face at us like we are trash because we didn't order wine.

Wr normally tip 40-50% here. Not tonight lol.

We were two black women who came to your restaurant on 5/6/2025. The wait time was longer than others who weren’t blacks. Waiters were loud and disrespectful. However, the food was good. Train your staff how to serve people appropriately regardless of how they look.

Food was great. Started with gem salad and k-town chicken. The salad was fresh and delicious. Only issue was for a salad with peaches, more peaches and make sure they are sweet. The peaches were lacking and flavorless. We shared the pork Milanese and it was tender and cooked perfect . Needed a touch of salt. Also had the summer corn side. Drinks were great! It was noisy but overall a great time. Will be back. Here are a few pics of eaten food!

A group of four of us went to the restaurant for cocktails and food during the Super Bowl. We were not received nicely at all instead the server was very racist and removed all menus from each person shortly after we sat. We asked why are you taking the menus we are not done ordering so he would give one back and keep three. He would come back and take the one we kept. This despicable behavior from the waiter continued for almost 2 hours. It was a horrible experience and my suggestion for the management is to do better when hiring your racist staff totally disgusting.

While the service was excellent, our meal was unfortunately underwhelming.
The bread, a usually enjoyable starter, was served with unsalted butter which lacked flavor. My wife's margarita pizza was also disappointingly bland.
I ordered the burger medium-rare, hoping for a juicy and flavorful experience. However, the thick patty arrived well-done with a texture reminiscent of an overcooked meatball. Thankfully, it wasn't dry, but it didn't satisfy my burger craving.
The highlight of the meal were the fries accompanying the burger.
Overall, the food fell short of expectations, especially given the promising start with the excellent service.

After our Christmas in Concert show, The American Bar & Grille was the spot to cap off the evening. Intimate, trendy, beautifully designed, and perfectly lit, this restaurant practically whispered, “Yes, here
this is it,” as we strolled past others. And it absolutely was.

We kicked things off with drinks. My partner ordered the Heineken Zero—the only non-alcoholic beer option on the menu. He’s easy to please and had no complaints, but a little more variety for the sober crowd wouldn’t hurt. I, on the other hand, ordered a New Mexico Sparkling Brut wine , Beautiful to photograph? Absolutely. But the taste wasn’t for me—it was either too refined or too bitter for my palate. That’s a me problem, though, not the restaurant’s fault.

The team execution? Impeccable. It felt choreographed—like watching a perfectly synchronized ballet. The table concierge and managers clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows. Every step was thoughtful, smooth, and left me so impressed I could clap for them right at the table (but I settled for an internal standing ovation). Hospitality artistry like this is what draws me to dine out, and American Bar & Grille went above and beyond in this category.

For appetizers, we chose the White Bean Bruschetta and PEI Mussels-Frites. While both were delicious, the mussels stole the spotlight. Picture this: tender mussels in a garlic white wine sauce, paired with cannellini beans and served over a luscious béarnaise sauce, complete with truffle fries. It was a culinary masterpiece, crafted so intentionally it forced us to put down our phones and savor every bite.

For the main course, we shared the evening’s special: Wild Atlantic Cod in a brown butter sauce with radishes and green beans. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone with this dish was the best decision of the night. The cod was cooked perfectly—light, flaky, and melting in your mouth with no trace of “fishiness.” Each element on the plate complemented the others seamlessly, and before we knew it, the plate was wiped clean. Bravo to the kitchen for such a standout entrĂ©e. 👏

We ended with dessert: Cheesecake CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e. Delicious, though admittedly a bit heavy for me. If I were an award-winning chef (and I assure you, I am not), I might scale it back—maybe 75% smaller, round it out, and give it a more “less is more” look. But hey, this is American Bar & Grille, not a tapas bar, and indulgence is the name of the game. Still, the taste was undeniably on point.

The Final Word: For $125 (including apps, drinks , entrées, dessert, and coffees), we enjoyed a flawless dining experience in a stunning atmosphere. The food was exceptional, the service was unmatched, and the ambiance was exactly what we needed to end our night.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that doesn’t just serve food but elevates the entire experience, look no further than American Bar & Grille!
