Amazing. Great place. Must be, since it's been around since 1800s. So good. With a visit for sure.

Waiter was excellent. Food was excellent. They make very good drinks. Even valet service was prompt. Highly recommend! Plenty of gluten free options.

Not an expert on oysters but enjoyed trying a variety of them. Soup was outstanding. Mixed drinks were too. Recommend going when the piano bar has someone playing, really, really cool.

Dined at Docs on 9/30 and it was extremely mid. Hostess sat us at our table, but we were not approached by our server for almost 10 minutes. Drinks were very good shoutout the service bar bartender. Appetizer, we got the tuna which was decent, definitely not the best. For dinner I ordered the lobster tail with a loaded baked potato and my boyfriend ordered the flounder and crab meat. The server did not prep the table with sharp knives or a replenish of water. I was SERVED A RAW LOBSTER TAIL. Working in the service industry in Atlantic City, I know what a raw lobster tail looks like. Flagged down the server, he took it back to the kitchen, which in turn I got a lobster tail that was just barely up to par. Server knowing it was an anniversary, did not take dessert or a drink off.
Entire meal and service were bad considering Dock’s is a fine dining restaurant and landmark in Atlantic City.
Happy hour seems to be what is keeping that place alive.
KNIFE AND FORK is the better option of the 2.

Finally made it back to Dock’s Oyster House in Atlantic City after hearing the buzz from Philly news, Forbes, and everywhere in between.. and wow, it absolutely lived up to the hype! Chef Stephen nailed it, and our server Walter knew the menu like the back of his hand with spot-on suggestions. No matter how many times you go, it somehow still feels like a once-in-a-lifetime night out. Hands down one of my favorite ways to spend an evening in Jersey!

Great happy hour and seafood. I have always enjoyed their cocktails and wine selection. Sometimes they have a live piano player

This was my husband and I’s first time visiting Dock’s Oyster House from Philadelphia, and it truly exceeded our expectations. We sat at the bar for happy hour, and Rich was our server. He was attentive, kind, and such a skilled bartender. His drinks were perfectly crafted, and every bite of food we tried was absolutely top tier.
What made the night unforgettable was the warm hospitality. While I was still deciding on the lobster mac & cheese, a server walking by shared her recommendation, and moments later the chef himself came out from the kitchen to personally ask if I was ordering it. To my surprise, he brought me a lobster mac & cheese on the house for my birthday. That personal touch made the evening so special.
Dock’s knows how to combine great food with genuine hospitality. A quick tip: arrive early. People start lining up outside before the restaurant even opens to snag a spot for happy hour, and now I completely understand why.
This was truly a birthday dinner to remember, and we can’t wait to return.

I had high hopes for Dock’s Oyster House, but unfortunately our experience fell short on several fronts.
The location does not lend itself to the fine dining experience the restaurant projects. The area was unsafe for strolling (particularly if you're dressed up for a special occasion) which made “arrive by car, leave by car” a necessity rather than a choice.
We had to wait about an hour to be seated despite having reservations. The front desk staff were noticeably unhelpful and indifferent to any questions. Their lack of professionalism suggests a deficit in training. Our waiter greeted us by telling us he didn't want to come into work that night but was forced, which also set a less than welcoming tone...
The food itself was inconsistent. One dish (the flounder and crabmeat) stood out as enjoyable, but the others lacked flavor. Considering eating here can easily total $200, the overall execution was disappointing.
The atmosphere also felt exclusionary. In a packed dining room, we were the only people of color present. Adding to the sense of being unwelcome, the restaurant refused to acknowledge my birthday unless we purchased dessert on top of what we had already ordered. For a place positioning itself at a high tier, withholding a small gesture like a birthday cupcake (or whatever it was) was unnecessarily rigid.
It was difficult to get any server's attention when we were ready to pay, and we witnessed a waiter pressuring the couple next to us to leave, despite them not lingering for an unusual amount of time. Even they were taken aback.
The experience lacked the warmth, hospitality, and culinary quality anyone would expect from a fine dining establishment. While Dock’s Oyster House may have a long standing name, we would not go again. There are much better fine dining options in Atlantic City that are more welcoming and attentive, so we plan to frequent those instead.

We went for happy hour and stayed for dinner. The happy hour appetizers came out quickly and were good. The restaurant is beautiful and has been a family business for four generations. Dinner was delicious; our server, Gina was knowledgeable and suggested some great dishes. Our anniversary dinner was extra special. Highly recommend and we will return as soon as we’re back in the

Dock's seafood is one of the best seafood houses AC has to offer. The food is excellent and your service is just as good. Great food, great atmosphere and valet parking.
