So many visitors to Atlantic City come to this block to visit White House Subs and miss out on the actual best landmark on the block that is Formica Bros Bakery right across the street. The bakery that creates the bread which is the real star of those famous sandwiches. Everything i have ever gotten from this tiny cafe and bakery is outstanding including the bread, pastries and baked goods and chocolate covered delights as well as their cannolis and tomato pie slices. The tomato pie actually deserves its own sentence to acknowledge how great it is; the bread and crust have a great crunch consistency and chew in all the right places and the sauce is exceptionally well balanced no too sweet and not too tart. just right and rivals any u will find in Philly or South Jersey. I also enjoy and the different sweet bread breakfast loaves and muffins. They also have several cakes that i have never tried but based on all my other experiences would no think twice about getting if need for a special occasion. Lastly I must say they make some of the best non chain store coffees, espressos and lattes i have ever had anywhere in the country and are a must pickup whenever i am driving by and need a quick pick me up for the ride home to PA. The staff is extra friendly and quick to help u pick the best item for your needs. And for such a small store it is incredibly comfortable, clean and well laid out to fit a whole lot of food and a few tables looking out onto Arctic Ave. Love these old authentic independent stores and will always be a visitor as long as we both are around.

Quite a selection of Italian cookies and cakes. We bought pizzelles and 2 flavors of biscottis. Price was reasonable. Cookies were good. Later in the week we bought crème puffs and eclairs. Again we were pleased.

We were looking for a bakery you grab some dessert items. Not being familiar with the area, Google and Yelp were my besties for this mission.We found Formica's and drove over. Very limited parking in the area. By the time we parked and knocked on the door, they were closed. However, (not sure if it was the owner), someone motioned to the side door and let us in. It's a small spot with no seating.But, lots of different sweets. Chocolate covered pretzels, cakes, cookies, homemade snowballs.We got an assortment of items and were on our way. Everything was great.Check them out!
