This place was such a good breakfast spot. It was just a short hike through the Tropicana to the Chelsea tower. I took my youngest son who is special needs and in a wheelchair. They were very considerate and went out of their way to make things perfect. The servers are very attentive and friendly and the food comes out fresh and quick. We shared the hungry man combo 2 which included 2 eggs, potatoes, meat (i chose pork roll) and 2 pancakes (i got chocolate chips for my son). The pancakes were some of the best i have had. They were lighr and fluffy, thin but not too thin and had the perfect amount of chocolate chips. This was my first time trying pork roll and it was very good. The potatoes were a nice portion and the eggs cooked perfectly to order. It was so good we came back 3 days in a row. Thanks to all the staff at Gilchrist!

Gilchrist's at the Tropicana is a charming, old-fashioned diner. It is connected to the Tropicana, and while it may not be the most modern in terms of aesthetics, it's a pleasant spot near the beach for a meal. For breakfast, I ordered two eggs, turkey sausage, grits, and toast. Regrettably, the food wasn't as enjoyable as I'd hoped; the grits were runny, and the sausages were cold, though the toast was quite good. Considering the price, I was expecting a more satisfying dining experience, but unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed.

Gilchrist was a letdown, especially considering the hype around it. The location might be convenient if you're near the beach, but the food didn’t live up to expectations at all. The chicken salad, which some rave about, was underwhelming — lacking freshness and flavor, and honestly felt thrown together. The Italian omelette was average at best, nothing memorable, and a bit overcooked. The place tries to give off a cozy, laid-back vibe, but it just came across as cramped and noisy. If you’re looking for a quality breakfast or brunch near the water, there are definitely better options than this. Wouldn’t recommend unless you're out of choices.

Gilchrist is a great little spot for breakfast/brunch, especially if you’re looking for something casual and close to the beach. The chicken salad was to die for — super fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of seasoning. The Italian omelette was solid too — packed with veggies and cheese, and cooked just right. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, with a cozy feel that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Whether you’re fueling up before hitting the shore or just looking for a good brunch near the water, Gilchrist is definitely worth a stop.

This is actually my favorite place!!! I come to New jersey 3 times a year, and I visit Atlantic City just to have breakfast at Gilchrist!!

I wish I could give them 10000 🌟 🤩

For all the times I've been there, I stuck to one menu.. 2 blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs well done, link sausage, soft bacon and apple juice!!

It can't get better than this 10/10
