My wife and I enjoyed the knife and the fork . We seated on the 3rd floor. My wife had the lamb chops and I had the beef and reef. Meat cooked perfectly. We shared two sides. Mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and reasonably priced .

Had dinner with friends there last night and had another good meal. Our friends liked their crab, spinach and artichoke dip. Everyone's steaks were good, although mine & my wife's were a bit undercooked. Loved the Pommes Soufflé and Goat Cheese Au Gratin Potatoes. The service was good, and the prices are par for the course for this kind of restaurant in AC. Overall, well worth a visit.

This is a classic location in Atlantic City, serving steaks and seafood. The meals are always perfect. The staff is attentive and helpful. If you visit Atlantic City, this should be on your list of activities.

Went here while in Atlantic City based upon a recommendation. Been around since like 1912, so it certainly has history. There was a line to get it right around 4pm as everybody wants to get a bar seat. Went here w wife, daughter and her boyfriend. We were seated upstairs, and our server Anthony was very nice. 4 large shrimp cocktail to start was very good. My wife and daughter got French Onion Soup and like it. They both loved their 8 oz Filet Mignon and mashed potatoes were very good. My daughter's boyfriend and I both ordered the 16 oz porterhouse. We both did ours rare as opposed to med rare per Anthony. He said if came out to red, we could go back in and get it heated up but it was fine. My only complaint was for both of us the meat was hard to cut, and stringy. Not sure if our knives were not sharp enough or what but while it was good, I have had better, but get the ambience thing. Also got a dirty martini that was not dirty. 2nd one was better. Doesnt deserve an excellent, but is more in the very good territory.

We met friends for dinner, 3 couples in all, though this was a first for us. The building is a landmark in Atlantic City history, and the restaurant makes its mark on the map of culinary achievement. With a variety of choices for both appetizers and entrees; we ate in a cheerful and reasonably quiet setting. Our waitress , Flavia, was attentive, and fun to speak with. Everyone on staff executed their roles perfectly. And the manager was exceptionally prompt and kind in addressing one of our party's medical concerns. My husband and I have a summer home in Cape May but will be happy to drive to AC to dine here again. We look forward to it.

I have been here before with a larger group and was blown away by the food and service. The libations were outstanding as well. The waiter was a amazing and was able to ask my likes and help me pick something I would love. It worked. Last night, I made a reservation for my wife and I and I was so excited for some great food. I raved about it to her. We arrived a little early and sat at the bar for a few drinks and appetizer while we waited. The bartender and drinks were very good. The Sliders were also pretty good. We then sat on the upper floor and were greeted by a very friendly wait staff and finally by our waiter. He was very nice, witty and informative. He knew the menu well. Nothing about the staff was a problem , they were great. The problem was the actual main courses my wife and I ordered. My wife ordered the Cowboy Steak and the waiter informed me that the Lobster Thermador was their signature dish. I said I'll take it. I ate some of my wife's steak and it was lacking spice and flavor. There was no dipping sauce and it was not very good. In fairness my wife like medium well and that sucks for a steak, but this was not good. My Thermador looked good, but when I was eating it I realized it was not hot and rubbery. The taste was just ok. I was devastated and embarrassed when my wife said this is not good. I always give a restaurant 3 chances and I am not sure if I will here. Again, libations and staff great, food just ok.

Another great culinary experience. 6 diners; 5 different entrees. Veal Milanese; a generous portion, cooked perfectly, crusty on the outside and tender on the inside. Mushrooms and pecorino were not overpowered by the broccoli rabe. Halibut: Generous portion that was flaky and moist. The leek and Swiss chard accompaniment was superb. Seafood Risotto: A healthy portion, very rich however not in a negative way and extremely flavorful. The shrimp, scallops, crab and mushrooms were excellent. Lamb chops: seasoned and perfectly cooked to order (medium rare), moist and tender. The accompanying bordelaise was rich however not overpowering and a perfect compliment. The potatoes were moist and the perfect side. (As a foodie, the best potatoes I’ve ever had.) THE SPECIAL: Wild Salmon with prosciutto speck; Amazing surprise of collective flavors. The speck created a crispy shell to the perfectly cooked salmon. The service was well paced, attentive without being intrusive. As a frequent diner, I notice the interactions and activity of the waitpersons and the management overseeing operations. All of my experiences have seen Lauren Boyle greeting customers, remembering them, and constantly overseeing the operations to offer support and guidance. Thank you for another wonderful dining experience, see you soon. Regards, Joe

What a cool and historic place to come dine at! I got the knife and fork inn special, it came with bread, corn and crab chowder, a buffalo tomato salad and lobster and filet. The service was excellent! I always had my water full and my bread refreshed. I’ve never had crab and corn chowder, it was tasty I liked it. The tomato salad was sooo good it was so fresh and delicious. The best part was the lobster Thermidor! I had never even heard of it before I came here but it was sooo flavorful with the cheese and other sauce mixed in and the filet was cooked perfectly medium rare. This was one of the best meals I had in Atlantic City and honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. Very nice! I definitely recommend!

The service was impeccable. The food was outrageously delicious. We were a party of 4 celebrating my Mom's birthday. we had an amazing dinner. The filet mignon was so tender and cooked perfectly medium the lobster thermador was very flavorful. We also had the short rib super tasty and tender. The sides were good, and the calamari was light and not greasy. The dessert was wonderful. This will be our go-to place whenever we visit Atlantic City.

If you find yourself in Atlantic City at lunchtime in a Friday, the Knife and Fork’s $20 3 course prix fix lunch is a winner! Huge portions, wonderful waitstaff and delicious classic American food. Be sure to make reservations as Friday lunch is always busy!

My husband and I were very excited to try this restaurant while in AC. We had the garden salad, pommes soufflé, porterhouse steak, and apple ginger cobbler for dessert. Overall the food was excellent with the exception of the porterhouse steak. We ordered the steak medium rare and it came out perfectly medium rare but the cut of meat just seemed to be very cheap. The meat was not tender or juicy at all and the seasoning was extremely lacking as well. So while everything besides the porterhouse was on point, it was very disappointing to have the main course be so lacking. I would go back again but would avoid ordering a steak.

We ate here for NYE - food was mostly very good, with a few misses. Steak was properly cooked, halibut and crab cake entrees were good. Lobster on the seafood sampler was badly overcooked. Main issue was service - we felt very rushed. Our waitress didn't take the time to go over the menu at all, and her assistant was hovering over our table to clear items before we had finished them. Not a good look or feeling for a fine dining experience.

Good food Good and friendly service Older decor but well preserved We usually go to Docs Oyster House when in AC, owned by same people, but changed it up this time. I like Docs better, see my past review, wife likes here..hence the 4 stars! Would go again if she won't let us go to Docs!

Everything we had was delicious - bacon slab app, lamb chops, filet mignon, lobster risotto, and cocktails. The setting is historic and classy. The one knock was the service (which, unfortunately, was painfully slow). We were seated near a few large parties and I would like to think that had something to do with the service - but it still detracts a bit. Drinks and apps were efficient but then (I believe) the wait staff simply forgot to take entree orders. While this certainly delayed our meal we still had a fantastic experience and will certainly return for another meal next time in AC.
