While walking the boardwalk, my girlfriend and I wanted dinner but could not nail down a place to go. We came across Loteria. The menu looked amazing and the restaurant did not disappoint.
Jack was both the bartender and server, and was constantly on the move. Even with the pressure of handling a few tables and people at the bar, he was kind, friendly, helpful, and efficient.
The establishment has a cool, dark mood and feel that's both quiet and calming.
Our gin and vodka drinks were strong and delicious. The chips for the guacamole were hot and the tacos (pollo asado, carne molida, camaron, Al Pastor, and carnitas) were all unique and flavorful.
That meal satisfied us both in ways we never expected.
Turns out this was our best dining experience overall during our five days in AC — thanks to Jack and the kitchen crew.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We really enjoyed our tacos and the blood orange margarita was yummy. Will be back!
I don’t know how to describe the inviting allure of this place, especially since the boardwalk of Atlantic City appeared quite depressing, filled with cheap, overpriced souvenirs. When this place caught my attention, I wanted something refreshing to beat the heat. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar to enjoy a drink when the owner kindly offered us samples before we purchased full cups. He was a fantastic man with a great spirit and a beautiful soul, and hearing about his ideas for other businesses he was planning was genuinely inspiring. I felt a connection to his presence as he shared his background. The attention he gave to his customers was priceless. The drinks were fantastic, and although I didn’t get to try the food, looking at the menu made me confident I wouldn’t be disappointed with the Mexican cuisine he offered. I would recommend this place a thousand times; even if you don’t order an appetizer or a full meal, the great drinks and conversation at the bar were absolutely worth it.

We stopped in during happy hour and were initially excited to check out the menu. After just a few minutes of looking it over, the server asked if we were ready to order. I politely asked for a few more minutes, but when she returned, she was noticeably rude and told us that if we weren’t going to order, we couldn’t just sit and stay. I was planning to order a piña colada, but the pressure and attitude made me lose interest. My husband did order a drink and enjoyed it, but the overall experience felt rushed and unwelcoming.

The location is good and haveing a place to get put of the heat was nice. the food however is bad. none of the meats we tried were prepared correctly. The carnitas looks like it was cooked in a slow cooker and is soggy. the alpastor was just weird and dry. the worst part is they didnt grill the tortillas or even heat them up. so it was soggy and on a cold tortilla.

This looked like a cute little place from the outside so I decided to walk in any try it. The food was okay, flavorful but the quesdilla was a little on the dry side. The tacos were delicious but very small, as my shrimp taco only has two little shrimp in it. The bill was a lot pricier than I was expecting. Be aware of that 18% gratuity they sneak into your total price.

As a Latino, I’m truly disappointed. The food is practically a luxury Taco Bell but at least Taco Bell adds toppings absolutely no flavor in the food. The place is beautiful and servers were extremely nice and welcoming but they kept forgetting our refill and we never received any sauces that were asked. The food was more americanized than anything so it felt like false advertisement.

The portions are pretty small. The only interesting side was the elote street corn, which came in an 8oz plastic cup for $14. The corn was incredibly dry and tough and not flavored in a desirable way. It seems very lazy to serve all the food on a bare metal tray. They also didn't have any to-go containers. It seems like the managers have completely checked out.
