Maria’s is a classic local mom-and-pop diner that’s earned its place in the neighborhood. Service was fine, though a bit slow to start after self-seating. The food, while plentiful, was bland and forgettable, the savory options lacked flavor. On the flip side, the sweet baked goods looked great and seemed to be the main draw. Prices were fair and the place stayed busy during our Saturday visit. Worth supporting for its local roots, but the kitchen could use a bit more spark.

Food was spoiled!! Potatoes was from another day. Food was not fresh at all. As I complained about that. Another black couple had 🪳 roaches crawling on their table. She literally was upset because they refused to eat and ask for a refund . The lady at the front register was upset because I refused to eat the spoiled items. She then basically refused to ring me up. She took a customer that was infront of me. Then came my turn she walked off and decided to ignore me. And from my experience I don’t think it was mainly about the food but it was how she looked down on me (us) 😒 we black ppl have to stop given these type of ppl our money. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!

Great little Spot on Atlantic Avenue corner. Next to Sydney's Korean/Vietnamese restaurant.
Small run by 3 women & the cook. Fresh, delicious breakfasts/ fine coffee and neighbor feeling to the place. Had very good serving of French toast w. lots of delicious fresh fruit-strawberries, blueberries and bananas. Coffee is fresh & good as well. 2nd time we've been here. We have become Atlantic City aficionados and this small, cheerful café is another plus to the city's appeal

Super place to enjoy a meal in a friendly environment. Locals and visitors with free parking too.

The best diner breakfast I've had in years, probably one of the best on the East Coast. If you're in Atlantic City, skip the overpriced brunch and head to Maria's.

Everything you'd expect in a tiny diner. Chill atmosphere and great food. I had the corned beef and hash with eggs and grits with cheese. Everything was great and the coffee was perfect. I came here once over 5 years ago and remembered to come back recently when I visite. Just as good now as then.

Came for breakfast for 2. Good italian sausage omelet and steak and eggs. Friendly and decent service. Good assortment of hot sauce. No frills type of place, always good to come back to.

Found this place on google while visiting Atlantic City. Wanted to find a nice small breakfast place. This hit the spot. it was busy, but there were open tables. Service was quick, breakfast was good. A solid breakfast option.

The worst experience I've ever lived!

Upon arrival the restaurant was full, we were 8 people, at the entrance of the restaurant they told us there are tables at the back of the restaurant, we arrived and joined the tables and left space for people to circulate (upon arrival they only told us that there were tables in the back) but at that moment a staff came out of the kitchen and made a face of repudiation and disgust when he saw us, and murmured something while complaining, 5 minutes later a waiter arrived to serve us and told us that it was not possible (something which we understood) but we did tell him the terrible attitude that the other had Employee by preferring to put on a bad face and attitude before communicating that that could not be done.

This is the second time I go to this place because there are no good options in the area, the first time the attention was also terrible but it was during the summer and I thought that because of the number of people they were busy but this second visit showed me that their service is terrible along with a deficient and rude staff

The terrible attitude of your employees makes your place worse

The food wasn't anything special but the people were fantastic. Unfortunately as you watch the cook and the waitresses, you're touching the food with her hand quite often. I saw the cook literally grab bacon with his fingers and put it on my plate before it came to me. I saw waitress make a waffle and then put all the strawberries and then push it down with her hands before she put the whipped cream on there. They use a plastic glove to make toast but everyone shares the plastic love and it just sits there as they need it.

I frequent this diner when in AC, and recommend it highly to my friends, but this trip...too crowded, long wait. When the two of us were finally seated by the kitchen an rest room, 4 others patrons came in and were served before us. After this we decided to leave and we were asked if we were paying cash or credit? We stated that we had not been waited on and why we were leaving.

When I came in the gentleman asked us if we wanted the bar or a small table in a corner. We declined and said we will wait for a table. My husband gave his phone number. We waited inside but the gentleman stated that we couldn't stand there, I said sorry and I understood. Went to wait outside. 15 minutes go by, 3 sets of people have left. Not one call. 2 sets of couples walk in and they get sat immediately. 5 minutes later, still no call at all. I don't mind waiting or them being busy, but not calling us and letting others just sit down without a wait, is honestly rude. I usually go to Perry's Cafe for breakfast but I was excited to give their food a try to end my vacation before I left home, but didn't get to and definitely now will never chose that spot when I go back.

Update: called me 35 minutes after we gave our name & number for them to call us. No thank you. I seen people drive up, park, walk in and get seated.

Maria's is a great little spot for a quick breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. The standouts so far are the cheesesteak omelette and french toast, but the iced coffee was really good too! You might have to season your own eggs and potatoes to your liking.
