This was a very nice and friendly place to visit

Ordered the jerk chicken takeout w/o rice. The waitress, who was very nice, was concerned that I would pay full price for the dish and asked a lady who seemed like the owner if the item could be reduced. The lady made it clear that it would be the same price and stared back at me. I was fine with paying full price, however, I would have appreciated more lettuce or vegetables. I did not receive any of that and only attitude from the owner or manager.

I did not feel accommodated as a customer and frankly feel disrespected. No wonder the restaurant was almost empty during busy times. The jerk chicken was decent, it is shame that it was tainted by the ignorance of management.

Their advertised hours via automated phone message a d website says they're open, but for two days consecutive, they've been closed, providing no updated information regarding operation hours, gravely incoveniencing Patrons. 3👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

HORRIBLE!!! Disappointed to make this review. First things first, the waiter named Nat was very disrespectful and had poor costumer service and needs to be checked she didn’t apologize or have any sympathy for our situation. Got an attitude after just trying to explain to her what we didn’t enjoy. Still wanted to pay for it but she kept arguing. I had very good hopes on this restaurant. Food is horribly mixed. Certain seasonings is very strong and certain not. Food either over cooked or not cooked at all. Simple chicken tenders and fries were horrible. Chicken tenders weren’t seasoned. Fries were extremely hard. They only stock on Monday's so most things you won’t get a couple days after because they haven’t “re-stocked”. There garlic butter is disgusting. Taste like mustard and lemon. Nothing like a regular garlic butter. Yams taste like tumeric and it’s HORRIBLE. Please don’t come here with hype you will be disappointed. I’m sorry I even had to write this review. Waste of money and overly expensive for a small portion of food; I got a half of potato and one piece of broccoli for the self love boil. You guys will definitely disappointed . You should see the faces of people eating here. Very upsetting. Also we told the lady no tip and she still tipped herself. Stole 10 dollars from us!!! NEVER GO HERE.

I wasn't expecting this place to be too good, after I tried some other local spots but it was soooo good! We loved everything we ordered! My personal favorite was mac'n'cheese and coleslaw, it was exactly how I like it. Catfish was delicious as well! We did wait about 30 mins but it was totally worth it! Sylvia's has nothing on them! ❤️

I’m visiting Atlantic City and Place my order for pick up . the pick up time was for 7:42pm 10/19/2024 . Got there it wasn’t ready . My order was ready at 8:30pm . I got a boil platter . I was supposed to get two corn and only received one . I was supposed to get broccoli didn’t receive any . Was supposed to get potatoes didn’t receive none . Overall I wouldn’t recommend any of my people to come here tbh .

My family and I come here for dinner every time we’re in Ac. Everything was amazing and fresh. Service was A1 and let’s not forget about the prices are very affordable.Servers and owner were very pleasant.

Service started out great, but after we got our food it disappeared. Food was not good at all, it was bland and even though it appeared to be seasoned. I never cared for precooked chicken being reheated in a fryer and then be sprinkled with flake salt. This was a total waste of money and unfortunately I won’t be returning.

The food is really bad, as a matter of fact bad is not a good enough word describe how awful this food was. I bought two dinners and two wings. The wings were ok even though they weren’t seasoned good. The 1st dinner was a Turkey Wing dinner, it was not good at all. It might be the worst soul food I’ve ever had. The only soul food that I can remember that was comparable in bad taste is Junior’s in Brooklyn, NY. Their cheesecake is some of the best is the world, but their food is nasty! Anyway back to this Foul Food. The Turkey wings were not seasoned well, the Mac & cheese tasted like they used the wrong kind of cheese and didn’t have enough of it. The yams tasted old and uncooked like they heated them up in a microwave straight out of the can. No butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, syrup, or brown sugar. Then they put the turkey wings over yellow rice. Which I thought was odd, but said what the hell they’re giving me the hookup; 3 sides most places only give you 2. I was sadly mistaken, no hookup at all; the rice was minute rice and it was overcooked! The gravy they put on the turkey taste store bought. The best thing I had was the little piece of cornbread, that I didn’t even know came with the food. The only reason I gave this place a try is, because Kelsey’s was closed. I figured they aren’t that far from each other, this place can’t be that bad right. No, who ever is cook here needs to go to Kelsey’s and watch the chef there to learn how to cook! I don’t usually write reviews. Especially negative ones, especially about my people, because I know this type of stuff can take food out of peoples mouths. But For real unless you guys have two cooks, I don’t see how y’all can stay in business with the food tasting as bad as it does!!!
