Went here for the first time last night as a Valentine’s Dinner. My fiancé always wanted to go. Was about a 35 minute drive and 1000% worth it. From the free parking a half a block away in a church lot to the passion the staff shows - the place is top notch. They know it is a unique place (I mean the only French Afghan restaurant in world lol) so the staff and primary server is ready with any and all questions. He offered a quick rundown of menu. Took him two minutes to explain everything to us and narrow down exactly what we were going to order. The food was presented well, the wait was short, and staff was there for any request. Best part is the atmosphere and look. You feel that you’re somewhere special. Recommend for a unique family dinner or a place to take your significant other for an amazing night. You won’t be disappointment. Will be back.

We went here for my and my twin’s birthday celebration and the restaurant mistakenly gave our $60 custom cake to another table and gave us their Walmart cake, AFTER realizing their mistake.

Mistakes happen sure. But this restaurant’s owner/manager’s response was to offer the other table’s cake. No discount, no dessert, no responsibility taken. We each paid $90/person for dinner that night ($1,000 total bill), and that’s what they choose to do for their guests ??? That’s low.

Choose to eat here for food and atmosphere, and appreciate their servers for trying. But everyone should know how embarrassing the managers are towards their high-paying guests. Do not give them anything to hold for you.

My second time visiting this restaurant and it is one of my favorites when in Atlantic City. A reservation is required and it is a BYOB. Try everything on the menu, you won't regret it.

Best food I've had in a while! Atmosphere is phenomenonal. You won't find a restaurant anything like this anywhere. Truly one of a kind experience that I highly recommend! If you want to wow your family or friends, this spot is a must go! Service was great and attentive too.

Absolutely amazing experience from the min you enter the place it’s like you traveled all the way there. Super stylish and unique decor like I’ve never seen before. The service is great too. And most importantly the food was very tasty. A must stop if you’re in the area. It really made me feel like I was in another country.

We were in town with friends and were excited to try this place. Given the good reviews and our love of Persian/Afghan cuisine, we here looking forward to a good meal.

We were greeted by a friendly lady at the front who seated us and our waiter was also very friendly and helpful with making suggestions for what to order (his wife is the owner/cook). The interior is nicely done and you feel like you’ve been transported to another world sitting in some courtyard. You’d never imagine this from the outside given the location of the restaurant. These were all the high points.

So why the one star review? The food and the ridiculously overpriced pre fixe menu. We were only told about the $70 per person price after we were seated and looking through the menu. This is something that should have been posted on their website or mentioned when we made our reservation. Being forced to get a 4 course meal would be justifiable had the food been delicious but it was very disappointing.

The appetizers were good which got us excited for the rest of the meal. But it went downhill from there. The soup was bland like chicken stock with some mashed rice. None of us could have it. Our entrees came out next and they were absolutely terrible. I ordered the koobideh kabab platter, one of my favorite foods which I eat often. The Kababs were tough and rubbery and what made it worse was there was absolutely no seasoning. Even salt would have helped. The rice was also not the usual buttery fragrant rice one expects in a Persian dish. My husband’s lamb in his Uzbeki pulao was also disappointing. Our friends had similar feedback on their meals.

The desserts were mediocre at best but that’s a matter of preference. The tiny baklava piece was fine but the chocolate mouse and firni both felt like they had been prepared a while ago and refrigerated given their texture.

It was clear that there were cuttings corners everywhere to save money. For example, out platters came with only half grilled tomatoes, we were given only two desserts to share amongst the four of us when we all purchased the meals and the meat was poor quality.

I can’t for the life of me understand the high reviews here. I do feel bad leaving this review but I feel compelled to be honest.
