They used to be good until they switched owners. Now the base for the ice cream is sooo milky and tastes bad.
But if you like that kind of taste, by all means this place is good for that!

The beach is a beach but an Avalon Freeze is sublime. Super friendly staff. Saw the owner hosing down the sidewalk early one morning. Walked there after the Murray Mile ocean race a few bucks short of what I needed to treat my companion. Gracious staff trusted me to come back and make it right. True Avalon hospitality

Prices aren't horrendous, honestly, for being a summer go-to spot in Avalon. Soft serve is creamy and not gritty, which sometimes it can be. There are plenty of toppings and cone varieties. Has a nice little sitting area on the corner, and they recently changed their napkins, which are better than the ones they had at the beginning of the summer. It is cash only.

Have only been there twice and ice cream was melting before they even served it both times. Quality was average for taste.

Great little bar w/ nice lunch menu...nice atmosphere...
Just keep in mind that they only have two flavors of soft serve ice cream, vanilla and chocolate. But it's very smooth, creamy and delicious. Plus there's lots of toppings to choose from. Also, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Grilled octopus extraordinary! Veal Loren very best veal I’ve ever had and the presentations are beautiful. Mushroom soup was a seasonal delight! Paige was our server and couldn’t have been more professional and kind. Ten stars for Cafe Loren.
