I'd recommend you try something new every time you're here being every dish we've had has been some of the finest dining in New Jersey. Very hit and miss. One of us took the lobster which was very good and two of us the halibut which was so overcooked that it was dry and tough, the accompanying sides were average. Not an establishment of fine dining at these prices one expects better, and the decor was so bad it was funny. Service was excellent.

The service is always wonderful. Most of the food was excellent. Unfortunately, 2 people got the Lobster, Shrimp BLT. It was awful, very oily lacking any flavor. We left disappointed.

We love Cafe Loren and have never been disappointed. Korean bbq shrimp and Caesar salad and then Apple butter glazed salmon which was so deliciously Falkland the best pear and blueberry short rib! Nick is one of the best servers! Lauren is an amazing owner and her chef owner husband is just over the top. We feel so welcomed and valued and we appreciate everyone's efforts to make the dining experience perfect. Great that they extended their season. Hope that's forever now!

Kudos to Cafe Loren for staying open to mid November in Avalon. Need more of this in Avalon to make it a great resort. Had a good meal. The mussels in cury sauce was good but the sauce was heavier than I remembered from the past, Dining partner really enjoyed the blueberry shortribs and the soup. The Halibut was good but over cooked and the tomato chutney was too sweet. The coffee pannacotta was delicious but needed to be firmer and cooler. Service was good.

Cafe Loren is consistently excellent! We live in Cape May, and there are lots of great restaurants here, but we regularly drive to Avalon to dine at Cafe Loren -- it's that good! Food and service are always top-notch. Nick, our server, always remembers us even though we only manage to get there 4 or 5 times a year. I could describe the food that we ordered, but honestly, every dish we have ever had here has been just great! Wonderful place -- as I told Lauren, the owner, we feel truly grateful for Cafe Loren, and look forward to our next meal there.

I was a bit disappointed here. The food was just okay. It tasted like the food was intentionally under-salted (maybe for clientele with diet restrictions), but there were salt & pepper shakers on the tables. Our table was directly under an air-conditioning register, which repeatedly spattered or dropped condensation water onto our table and food. I realize this was not within the control of the staff, and they did their best to dry off the register with a rag during our meal. Generally this made me a little nervous about bacteria from the duct reaching our plates. Management should definitely have this mechanical issue corrected. On the bright side, they have a great selection of house-made desserts. We tried the “iced coffee” panna cotta which was delicious. A real treat.

Every course was refreshing and delicious. The scallops appetizer are always on point. The artichokes appetizer was amazing as well. The seared tube entree over kimchee fried rice was very tasty and made perfectly. Michael our server was a pleasure, knowledgeable and spot on with his recommendations. Absolutely one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Scallop appetizer was fantastic as was the halibut and tuna entree's. Great service, busy but still pretty quiet. A great place.
