Polpo Ristorante Reviews
Unfortunately, my daughter and her friends had a terrible experience this past weekend. The manager is an absolute jerk. Because he is family, they aren’t going to do anything. No apology.
Sadly, this is not a diverse, friendly atmosphere.
The Polpo in Bryn Mawr is still amazing.

We went yesterday to the worst experience at a restaurant.
My birthday along with my sons birthday was planned and scheduled for six at Polpo.
They sat us next to a loud party of twelve who had brought whiskey and liquor enough for a frat party!
We could not be reseated as the two main areas we overbooked and it was obvious the restaurant was short staffed as we waited half hour to be seated.

Polpo Ristorante offers a large menu and numerous specials, even on weeknights. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, with outdoor seating options including tables along the sidewalk and a semi-enclosed area. The service is generally good, although it may be slower than preferred, especially during busy times. The menu features dishes such as caesar salad, rigatoni and shrimp scampi, and risotto primavera. The restaurant has a loyal following and is a nice change of pace from other favorite spots. While some food is described as bland, the restaurant has received positive reviews for its burrata, caprese salad, risotto with grilled shrimp, house spaghetti, calamari fritti with mascarpone cheese, and pasta carbonara. Customers have praised the service, particularly the recommendations from the staff, and the pleasant indoor dining experience. Visitors also highlight the cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and friendly staff, especially the waiter with a great sense of humor. The bread served is exceptional, thanks to the talented bread master, Hanh. However, some dishes have received mixed reviews, such as the steamed clams and certain chicken dishes. Guests have enjoyed the specials like lobster ravioli, osso buco, and short ribs. The restaurant is a BYOB, offering good value, and many customers express a desire to return, especially after a positive dining experience. Due to its popularity, it can be crowded and noisy, especially during the office season. Service can sometimes be slow, with requests like bread, butter, and ice taking multiple tries. Food is often delicious, though some entrees may arrive cold or delayed. Desserts are consistently praised as delicious. The outdoor area is beautiful, with plants and lit trees creating a nice atmosphere, but reservations for outdoor seating can be affected by private events, and the indoor space may feel dated with bright lighting and odd art on the walls. Overall, the food is enjoyed, and service is friendly, making it a favorite for many customers despite some minor issues with service and ambiance.
