Our waiter. Blake was excellent. I ordered the chicken Cordon Bleu, which was new to the menu. It was cornflake, encrusted, chicken with ham and Swiss cheese. There was no cornflake crusting or any type of crusting and no Swiss cheese inside the chicken. It was the beginning of a new menu item, but still was disappointing.

Our server Pat was wonderful. She was very helpful with our dinner decisions after we found out that there were no oysters and that the filet Wednesday night special listed on the menus ended on Labor Day. She was very attentive and the filets which we all ordered were absolutely delicious. Our out of town guests are still raving about how tender they were. Thanks for a lovely meal and kudos to Pat for being an excellent server.

Ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. Be seated and order between 4-5:30. I had Prime rib and my husband had half a rack of ribs. It came with a salad, rolls and dessert. It was my first time being there after a friend of mine recommended it. The food was delicious, seating was comfortable, booths and tables. We had a booth and I felt like we had privacy. Staff, including manager were so friendly. I have lived at the Jersey shore for 50 years and can't believe I never tried this place. I will definitely go again.

Overall excellent. Entire staff is very friendly and efficient. Location in Avalon is great, although parking can be problematic in peak season. Very good variety on the menu, and the early dining prix fixe menu is terrific. Will become a regular dining venue for us at the shore.

Usually we have great service and we love eating here. But it was quite odd when we sat in our booth there was a dirty Band-Aid on the table. My daughter had to asked to have a cleaned -gross. then when we received our water, it spilled all over the table. No apology for either. She just continue to set up other empty tables. In addition to the condensation there was a pile of water. I had to ask for a napkin from the 2nd waitress please help clean up. We were going to get soaked. Quite odd that the 1st & 2nd waitresses just left that water there initially & walked away. We were grossed out by the dirty Band-Aid, it really spoiled the whole event but this was odd too! . The burger was well done and cooked to perfection. Service got better as the night went on -but slow to even get an initial drink. Place was not full or that busy. Quiet. We will try again-really off nite for them -new faces- 1st person who sat us needs customer service course.

Great meals. Prime rib perfectly cooked for me and crab and spaghetti. Very delicious just a bit spicy. Everyone was quite pleasant!!! Will go back in a heartbeat!

The Rock'n Chair never disappoints. Good food, service and atmosphere. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and attentive. The bar is the absolute best! They have live music throughout the week and we never fail to strike up a conversation with others at the bar. This place is great!!

Stopped by for lunch before picking up our keys for the beach house rental. Food was fresh, the salads were HUGE, very filling, and our server was nice (I can't remember her name, sorry!). Will definitely stop by again.

We had reservations at 6:45 and ended up getting to the restaurant early. They were still able to seat us and honored our request for a table instead of a booth. Our server was great and the food was very good. We liked that there was a lot to chose from on the menu. We will definitely come back again.

I don't recall EVER giving a 1-star review. I'm not exaggerating when I say this may be the worst dining experience I've ever had at the shore. Firstly, easy reservations via Open Table, and upon arrival we were promptly seated. We placed our order (2 adults and 2 children). Forty-five minutes later we still had no food, and kids were at the end of their patience. We called the server over and asked what was happening with our order. We were told the kitchen was swamped. However, within 5 minutes appetizers and entrees were delivered at the same time. Not a problem on its own, but literally every item was cold or barely warm. Clearly the problem wasn't the kitchen's preparation, it was the delivery. The server came and asked if we were good. We said it isn't and described the problems. The server said she'll get the manager. He came a few minutes later and we told him about it. He said the kitchen was very busy and that's why it took so long. We explained that the food being so cold suggests it sat for a long time before being delivered. My wife asked it we could at least get a fresh order of calamari since you could actually see the oil solidifying. He said he could do that if were willing to wait another 40 minutes. We said you mean you cannot put a rush order in to partially make up for a screwed up order. He said he has no authority over the kitchen because it is controlled by the owners and chef. He summarized by saying somedays everything works well and other days everything goes to crap. What an attitude! Not rushing back here.
