Need to give a shoutout to Son of a sailor. We went for the first time tonight and we were blown away by the hot lobster rolls. Best we have had - anywhere! Crazy amount of meat and super tasty, perfectly cooked! Don’t hesitate to try it. Amazing!! can’t wait to go back - was told they are open through October 12!

Whatever you are doing, do not stop. You put out the absolute best food. I was halfway thru my dinner, dancing around the kitchen, when I told my wife and kids I was going to leave a Google review because the food is so good. Keep up the awesome work!!

Both the hot and cold lobster rolls are to die for. I would drive here from anywhere just for them. Not cheap, but oh, so worth it. Roll is overstuffed with fresh, tender, delicately (perfectly) seasoned lobster claw meat. Huge chunks of it. Never had another lobster roll like it, soooo delicious. Zero fillers. Staff is friendly, seating is only outdoor picnic tables and some basic courtyard seating, but it's fine; you are here for the awesome food!!!

Best seafood joint I've had the pleasure of dining at, in this area. Food: tasty, fresh, and good serving sizes. Other places tend to overcompensate for mediocre quality by overseasoning food and salting it heavily. At Son of. Sailor, however, the flavor of the fresh seafood comes first! The flounder, scallops, shrimp, and clams I had were all super fresh and were perfectly seasoned. The scallops, especially, had such a nice sweet, mellow, savory flavor.
Service: staff were friendly and were able to give me suggestions on what to get! Had to wait a little bit for the food but the food I got was well worth it.
The price was decent, especially for the area.
The outdoor dining area was clean!
Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for delicious seafood for a reasonable price.

I spent the day in wildwood and wanted a seafood dinner before heading back to pa and i googled what was near us and this place came up 4.8 stars so i said thats it thats where we are going and thank god we did it was amazing service the girls were so helpful the food was amazing and the portion was even for me to have some tomm so it was definitely worth the money spent

Nothing negative to say here! Ive recently had a bad crabcake encounter at another restaurant and at Son of a Sailor, they are awesome!! The crabcakes are DELICIOUS and there is absolutely zero fillers in them...100% jumbo lump (see pics)! My BF had the crabcake and filet and that was great, as well.
Just be aware, they do not have inside seating. You can choose to either eat on the patio or take it home. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

Best takeout seafood in Avalon! I've had the Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich twice in the last 10 days and it was awesome both times. Thick cut, lots of spice, slice of Jersey Tomato and homemade sauce (mustardy and delicious, not shown below). Their fries are crispy too. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely delicious. I had the broiled flounder and it was perfectly prepared, excellent portion size (enough to even bring some home), sides were amazing. Super relaxed vibe, everyone was very friendly. Exactly what this town needs, my only regret is not going there sooner!! Will definitely be back ?
