The food was delicious. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. The shrimp enchilada special was very good. The dining room could use more lighting but it’s cozy.

We come here every year! We love it. Great food and yummy specials and good service! Best Mexican food in Avalon!

Went last night and it was delicious! I got cheese enchiladas in ranchero sauce and they were so good! My dad got pork tamales and I tried a bite...so good! My son got steak fajitas and I tried a bite...so good! My niece got the shrimp tacos, sister got the Mexican chopped salad with chicken, and mom got the fish taco and they all enjoyed their dinners very much too! (I didn’t try theirs because generally I swim with my friends in the ocean...I don’t eat them. And I was not feeling like a salad...pandemic was too long to not have fun last night!)Our server was an absolute pro, and I really mean that. And not just because she kept the complimentary chips and salsa flowing. The restaurant is a cute little place inside too btw.If you are in Avalon, try this place!(Little disclaimer...I don’t think they serve alcohol.)

Food itself: Delish. However, we ordered takeout and it feel apart. It was a FLAT out disaster. The Texas Toothpicks were divine, me and the fellas went to town on them. Would recommend, pleased my tastebuds.

Best Mexican in Avalon??? Must not be any other Mexican. Wow! I don't normally write reviews, good or bad. That said, this really was not good. The special grilled burrito appears to be boiled chicken and sautéed green peppers, onions and canned corn with a side of boxed rice and canned refried beans. Lots of cheese....I mean a lot!! The chips and salsa were a bag of store bought chips (still in the bag) and their "homemade" salsa. High hope for salsa , but no... We've been wanting to hit this place for years and what a perfect night..Cinco de Mayo!!! Nope... not even close. At almost 50 bucks for two burritos and chips and salsa, a big disappointment. You are way better off with Chipotle.

It's a great restaurant. The food quality is immaculate and the atmosphere is fun. It is a little loud once it gets busy but it's honestly a lot of fun.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Cape May County! It's a staple at the Shore!!! Love their chicken fajita salad!!

We drove 200 miles to have the Navajo Tacos. Worth it! My wife is a transplant from out west and we haven't had the greatest luck finding good mexican food. Tortilla Flats nailed the Navajo Tacos, and the Mexican Egg Rolls were great too. We'll be back again to try other dishes!

Some of the best Mex food available on the island!

We visit Tortilla Flats every summer while in Avalon. The fare is southwest style with unique spices and flavors. The blue crab nachos are amazing — fajitas, salads are also delicious. Homemade chips and salsa are to die for. BYOB.

As a family we wanted to try new Foods other than the normal pizza and fries and ice cream nights so we found this place. We ordered close To $200 and everything (no joke) everything was amazing. My husbands fav dosh was cowboy chili and mine was the chicken fajitas. My only negative comment is that they should automatically give tortilla Chips. I ordered guacamole and it was better than my own but i had nothing for dipping which was a total bummer.
