A group of six of us went to dinner at Via Mara. The waitress was very personable, but did not do timely follow up after our salads, meals and coffees were delivered. It was not crowded in the restaurant. The food was warm and the broccoli was actually cold. We have been at Via Mara for many years and we were disappointed this time. It will be some time before we return.

I’m so very disappointed with my meal. I had ordered bruschetta for an appetizer. When the dish came out, the tomatoes were hot and had melted mozzarella cheese on top. My husband ordered clams casinos. Which he said were just clams with a piece of bacon on top. For entrees we ordered chicken parmigiana and veal parmigiana. The best we can say about it is, the red sauce was good. We also ordered the pasta with a garlic aoli sauce. There must be a shortage of garlic, because there was very little in our pasta! It had no flavor.?We will not be back!

Slow. Underwhelming. Overpriced. The whole experience just monopolized so much of my night that I don't even have the energy to commit to one of my long reviews.Let's just say we were there for 2 hours and I probably spent about 3 minutes at the end scarfing down my $40 plate of veal because I was just ready to leave. The veal portion was small, And it came with a side of linguine and marinara which basically tasted like it was diner linguine and marinara, You know the kind that drips water at the bottom of the plate. The marinara sauce so red that it tastes like overripened bitter tomato. Ugh,

Parking: Small lot. Had to park across the street.

Service was slow despite a half empty restaurant. Food was very bland…lacked flavor. Two shrimp dishes both had overcooked, hard shrimp. House salad dressing tasted like pure oil. Very disappointing experience for my wife’s birthday dinner - which was hardly acknowledged by staff.

The only negative if you can call it that, is the salad leaves something to be desired. The entries were wonderful and the staff, professional.

I have been here many times. I usually get the veal parmesan and garlic bread. So amazing. I am Italian and it's delicious. Nice romantic atmosphere. If your in the area, check it out.

Best Italian restaurant on the island. That's why it's been in business the longest out of the other 10 Italian restaurant on the island. P.S. actually owned and operated by Italians!

Dinner took 3 hours. Portions were tiny. Food was not good ( I wont say terrible, but certainly well below average). Went with the whole family and all of us were extremely disappointed. Don't wasted your time or your money.

Had dinner here this week with a party of 3. Service was fine, but we know now why there were only 2 other tables occupied. Prices are high, portions small (even in a post Covid world with supply and labor issues and given the location). The salads that came with the entree had one slice of cucumber and no tomato and the house dressing was all oil, no vinegar. Our dinners (linguini and one small meatball, a chicken dinner) were so bland we could not rescue it by adding pepper, salt and grated cheese. Sorry, but you really need to look elsewhere. But the good news - we went out for a light dinner afterwards that was fun at the beach bar/restaurant at Icona Avalon.
