I have been coming here for the past couple of years to eat, and also trying to buy the place from Tom and Alex. Sadly, Tom passed away in August, but I finally got my chance to buy the place. This will be reopening as The Garnet Grill by December 1st, and will be open late so the folks at Tonewood can grab good grub. See you all soon.

Excellent Corn beef sandwich, nothing fancy about the place. Yet food was good and service was excellent.

Wanted to grab a quick bite before a 2 and a half hour trip with my boyfriend, and we hit this spot. Very homey diner feel, ran by an older couple. The waiter said he was the grandson of the two and I thought it was awesome for family to work together. Food was great, he got breakfast and I got lunch, and we always had our coffees full. If you’re ever in this area, stop by! It’s nice and cozy.
Also, it’s CASH ONLY. so make sure you have cash before you had to run out like I did!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Yesterday, I had an experience at a diner in Barrington that truly restored my faith in humanity. On a cold, rainy day, I found myself at this charming place, only to realize that they accepted only cash. As I awkwardly prepared to leave in search of an ATM, the waiter (who seemed to be the owner) warmly insisted that I stay and eat, offering to let me pay another day. This simple act of trust was heartwarming. But the kindness didn't stop there. When I stepped back into the rain to find an ATM, and returned unsuccessful, ready to take my car and leave, both the waiter and the cook (also likely a co-owner) came out into the rain, urging me not to leave hungry. This level of concern and hospitality is rare and precious. Even another diner offered to cover my meal, a gesture that added to the incredible atmosphere of generosity. Though I declined, I was deeply moved. After enjoying a fantastic meal, I managed to get cash and returned to pay, overwhelmed with gratitude. This diner isn't just about great food; it's a place where kindness and humanity shine brightly. A must-visit for anyone in Barrington looking for a warm meal and a reminder of the good in the world. #BarringtonDiner #HeartwarmingExperience #RestoredFaithInHumanity #CommunityLove

Nice family owned couple run the diner. They have the best breakfast potatoes in the area. I usually stop in for a good breakfast every other week.
