I held a baby shower for my daughter in July (2025) and I can’t emphasize enough what a wonderful event it was! We looked at the space on a quiet day in March and knew how perfect it would be so we didn’t go to any other venue on our list. As our date approached, I was getting nervous that parking would pose an issue (we had 65 people coming) so I called the venue at least 4x to ask about it and each time I was reassured there would not be a problem! Even though it was a Sunday during peak season? Again, total reassurance! And they were right! Besides that, they never made me feel like I was a bother! The food? Absolutely delicious! Presentation? Perfect! And staff?? Couldn’t ask for more personable and friendly people! The Grenville is BYOB and I was concerned that I didn’t purchase enough champagne for our mimosa bar ( some of the guests were a bit indulgent!) The staff said I had enough but if I didn’t, someone would run to a local liquor store to purchase more. They were so reassuring and accommodating! I plan events for a living so I have a very critical eye when it comes to behind the scenes details. The Grenville completely exceeded my expectations with regards to quality, service, and pricing. Thank you for making this a very memorable event!
The Grenville is a grand, old lady from the Victorian years of the 1890's. As owners of a house built in the 1760's, the Grenville, with its pink paint, gingerbread architectural decorations and huge front porch was at her best on a warm September evening. We ate dinner on the porch and the food was excellent and the server friendly, informative and attentive. The beet salad with Feta cheese and a vinegar forward dressing was fresh and well balanced. French onion soup was one of the best I've eaten. Croutons and melted mozzarella made the soup hearty and filling and seasoned with what I think was sherry and Old Bay. My wife loved her Halibut over rice and asparagus while my lamb chops were perfectly seasoned, though a bit under cooked close to the bone. The requested medium rare was quite rare near the bone. For the price, the 3 chops felt a bit stingy.
Overall, this was a very good meal in a lovely setting and the Grenville is perfect for either a romantic dinner for 2, or for any special event with family or friends.
They offer beach bags and towels and bikes for free which is nice, breakfast was very underwhelming but that is standard for all hotels, I just assumed it wouldn’t be the case due to the fact that this is literally a restaurant as well.
Very nice place will come back again thank you
First time staying at the Grenville. LOVED IT! Had a great room on the 4th floor. Clean, bright, AC was not only controlled by me, but was quiet even when on full blast. Beach literally right around the corner. They provide chairs, umbrellas, towels and badges. Never had a problem finding parking even in August and coming back late in the evening. Rooms must be sound proof...never heard anything from the rooms next to/around me. Came back one night late, loud party next door (heard them when going in), heard nothing in my room which was on the side of the party! Didn't have a chance to try dinner, but the menu looked great! Can not say enough about the staff! I will be back! Thank you Grenville!
Wife went to a bridal shower and had a great time.
Beautiful facility and good food.
“First time staying”We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Greenville hotel in Bay Head N.J. The location is just perfect for the beach walking distance to restaurants & shops in the area. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Rooms are small but they are clean which is a big plus!!
Hotel included umbrella, beach towels, chairs, beach tags, and bikes.
Continental breakfast it’s ok “ it’s continental breakfast “( coffee could be better :)) just a small suggestion….
Will I come back ? Yes!!!
Will I recommend? Yes!!!
Spent several days at the hotel and it was really nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It was so nice that the beach passess, chairs and umbrellas were included with our stay. Had dinner on the front porch and the food was delcious.
The Grenville Hotel is probably one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed in! They have everything you could possibly need during your stay in Bay Head. From beach badges, umbrellas and chairs to hot coffee and snacks, you will be well taken care of. The rooms are lovely and well stocked- blackout curtains, mini fridge and freezer, giant tv screen, extra pillows, and a blaring AC. You’ll feel like you’re basically at home!
The giant front porch is perfect for leisurely breakfasts and lunches.
Staff are so welcoming and helpful, allowing us to use beach badges and amenities early on the day of checkin as well on the day of departure.
I can’t wait to return to Bay Head!
Please do stay there!!!
This is the most amazing place. Staff is so pleased

Great stay! Makes it easy to be a beach bum 😎
Compared to any lowkey beach inn i’ve stayed at along the Jersey shore, the Grenville was the most comfortable with clean modern rooms and effective self controlled AC. The location is perfect for Bay Head. Most importantly, the staff was beyond wonderful in helping plan my surprise engagement, especially Maureen!! Highly recommend the location and staff for a weekend stay or special event.
Our time at the hotel was so delightful. Service and food were excellent. We were able also to host a mutual friend and she loved the location and food. Beach was nearby so convenient, private and clean.
Thank you for your warm hospitality.
Ive been meaning to write this review since April. This is a hard one because it was a tough time for us. We came down to pick up a family member from the hospital to come move to pa with us. We decided to come to the shore and make it a weekend for my kids as they had birthdays in April, turning 18 and 16 years old. My oldest was also graduating this year so I wanted to give them a nice trip. So did the family member. We got there, and the family member had booked the rooms, she didnt mean to do it through a 3rd party site and she ended up getting something different than we needed. It was ok at first because it was a big room with a king bed and a small twin. But when we got up there we realized it just wasn't going to work, so I was going to pay for another room. They fixed the problem immediately. They actually gave us the room next to the original room for my girls, for free due to the mix up with the third party. I was beyond grateful and impressed. I just couldn't believe the care they showed. The building is beautiful. If you are into early century buildings this is a perfect location. If you want a modern, totally perfect hotel with no charm and no history, move on. Leave the room for us that do. Unfortunately, our weekend of fun, turned into a weekend of horror. The family member had been in the hospital for about 4 months. We went to dinner after we unpacked and she started drinking a couple glasses of wine which fine. Do you. However, when we left she wanted more wine and got vodka too. She gets to the room and starts blasting the tv with music to 100 percent as if she owns the place. It took me until 3am to get her to lay down I wake up at 645 she is gone. She comes in with tea and vodka. She then destroyed the outing to bayhead and the aquarium due to being so drunk she couldn't walk. Got back to the hotel shes acting a fool. Eventually it got so bad it became a domestic situation. I have cptsd. I cannot tolerate blasting music and her behavior. She struck me and that was it. I packed all my stuff and went to the kids room. They had a smaller room with a king I was fine but she kept that tv at 100 percent and was banging on the walls. My kids wanted to go home. We had done nothing at that point for them. I was furious. I finally decided to go to the front desk and pay for a different room. I was crying and shaking. The night worker male, I cant remember his name but he immediately put us in a different room, one that if you weren't looking for, you cant find it. On a different floor across the hotel. He refused to take payment, said please just take the girls and rest. We hope you stay the rest of your trip. The room was beautiful. Large enough for all 3 of us. Quiet. And most of all we were safe. In the morning I went down to pay, they refused to take it. When the drunk family member went to the desk trying to demand our new room number, they refused to give it to her. They kept us safe. A hotel and employee group like this is damned near impossible to find. They care. They care about our families. I couldn't of asked for better treatment for my girls and I. We will never go to a different hotel from now on. They won my loyalty through care and compassion. My daughter wants her future showers here. They win when it comes to family and human care. Every employee protected us. They demanded the trip be salvaged for my kids. What more can we ask for. A business like this needs to be supported at all costs. Thank you to everyone at Grenville for making my family feel like a piece of your family. We will never forget your kindness and hospitality and most of all, your protection and safety. Please continue being amazing. We need more humans just like all of you. We hope to see you soon. Seriously. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Ive never been treated better in my life. Please support humans that care. This is them. Book now! You will not regret it. I promise! You may even run into a ghost if you're into that kind of thing. 😊
We had my daughter’s bridal shower, just this past Saturday and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with the process. From the very beginning, communication was awesome, staff was incredible in helping set up, the food was delicious and the guest raved about the venue. Thank you to the Grenville for simply just doing it right
