I was really excited to try this place after reading good reviews and seeing pictures. But unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience.It’s a small place with a couple of tables. We came on a hot august day and their air conditioning was broken. That’s not the worst of it for us though, I felt bad for the man cooking.They have lemonade and fruit punch and ice tea only for $2. I asked if they make it here and he said yes. When we tried it though it was just powdered flavored water. I was expecting something home made but I guess for $2 it’s not going to be that.We ordered the great catch for $40 it comes with shrimp, fish, chicken wings and lobster and two sides. They were out of lobster and said would double up on the fish and shrimp for us. I asked for the shrimp sautéed. He also said it was going to be 25 min.40 min later we got our food. We took it home which is 30min away and there were 3 pieces of fish, 7 shrimp a handful of fries and broccoli and no chicken wings. The fish I couldn’t even eat, it was hard as a rock, super salty, the parts that weren’t hard were chewy and some of the fish smelled so fishy and rotten. The shrimp were not sautéed, they were fried. And also super super salty. The broccoli was good but there was a super small portion. Fries were bland, which is surprising since everything else was a salt lick. They were also a bit too greasy and not too many either.Compared to other fish joints in the area this is sub par. In jersey city surf city has a fried fish platter for $33 has 4 pieces of cod, around 10 shrimp and calamari and lots and lots of fries, much better deal and tastes better.I ended up calling and letting them know they left the wings off. At that point I didn’t try the fish so I didn’t tell them the fish was bad. she did say she would credit some money back on our credit card. But a couple of days later the payment went through and no credit. Very disappointed.

I dnt understand the only soul food place been waiting for and is garbage! My Mac and cheese was only baked in butter no cheese lol salmon had a rip Like tasted for doneness lol I didn't taste nothing else I threw 35 in trash and 5 dollar tip lol im Puerto Rican and I could throw down better than this!! They don't care cause they think all are white ..no I seen afro American in there you failed..food sucks!! 35 bucks ?

Absolutely amazing shrimp, grits, and collards! I miss the Southern comfort food since moving back to the N.east coast and these guys know exactly what they are doing! They make to order, so be prepared to wait a little bit (call a head of time) and you'll be all set! Sidenote, they offer outdoor and indoor eating but its more of a takeout place. Just a few chairs and order at the counter.

Placed an order through Grubhub, not only was my food late, I was never notified they were out of wings! When I called I was informed so I changed it to something else, the delivery guy arrived and is asking for a tip which I did it through Grubhub, I told him that and this man had the nerves to ask me how much did I give! Never again ordering from this place.

The food is amazing here I come almost an hour away just to get there food. The Mac and cheese and candy yams are amazing and don’t get me started on the whitey fish it is so fresh and cooked to perfection the wait time and drive are definitely worth it

I was disappointed. The Mac was dry and lacked seasoning & love. Collards I would have liked seasoned more and cooked more. I couldn't get yams or waffles so I had to settle for what was available. The spicy garlic wings were good.

Saw this restaurant on Google and decided to stop by. I ordered fish, shrimp and grits. this was by far the best seafood i had in the area. The portions were good size portions. definitely was full afterwards. Customer Service was excellent! Im definitely coming back to the spot on the regular
