Back in January I planned my sister bachelorette at the Seashell with Brittany’s help. 2 Rooms were requested and booked through an external link. Confirmation letters were never received untill management was contacted. A confirmation letter was then received but with the wrong dates. When confronted about this mistake this resort told me they were not responsible for any mistakes made on their confirmation letter. I was eligible for their particular refund of about $200.00 but would be responsible for taking the remaining $1500.00. This of course was requested to be refunded due to their reservation making abilities- when the sea shell report responded that we were taking food from their families mouths. Long story short I would not recommend booking any stays with this resort or participating in any business with them for that matter.

Stopped here for a drink in one of the two outside bars, very packed very loud right on the beach excellent view but way too busy for me, live bands which conflicted with the live band next door, if you like crowd and loud ones this is the place for you, I won't be returning

Really enjoyed the Tiki bar at the Sea Shell! We were there for a beach day, and walked on near the sea shell. We came here for drinks and lunch. Overall service was quick and food was pretty good. I had the spice crispy chicken sandwich and it was flavorful. Sandwiches come with max salad or coleslaw, I chose the coleslaw. There's an upcharge for fries and other sides. Others at the table enjoyed the coconut shrimp and poke bowl. The drinks were tasty too (my favorite was the tbone). I also loved the atmosphere of this place, half of the tables were on the beach and they had a DJ and live band. Only downside was the price - about $200 for three lunches (no appetizers) and a few drinks each. Overall, a great beach bar

Had such high expectations for this hotel based on the overwhelming majority of great reviews on Trip Advisor. Although we did have some enjoyable moments, we most likely would not return. Here’s why. First off, it is 100% a motel. You pull up to a parking lot and all the rooms are right in the parking lot. Outdoor lights are left on all night long outside each door (for safety obviously) but unfortunately that also meant a bunch of gnats/flies made their way inside every night when we returned back to the room. We must have killed 10 during our two nights there. There were gnats in our bathroom our entire stay. Not sure if there is an underlying moisture issue causing that. Quite annoying. The room and bathroom were very small for $600+ a night. The beds were very comfortable but the wall AC was incredibly loud every time it kicked on. The pool was unfortunately a huge disappointment for us. It was way smaller than it appears in the main photo that is used online. I was shocked that there were no lounge chairs surrounding the pool!!!! There are chairs to sit (upright) but it’s definitely not a situation where you could lounge by the pool and relax. It’s also extremely tight to walk around the pool. It’s a shame bc the property is quite expansive and seemingly they could have allocated way more space for the pool area. However the pool is surrounded by safety gates and limits the walking space a great deal. The pool was also too cold for my children so they refused to go in. If it is supposed to be heated, the heat was definitely not working this weekend. We ventured off to the beach instead where was I surprised to find that there were no lounge chairs provided by the hotel. When the hotel referenced their “private beach” I assumed they meant the beach near the ocean was private. Instead, the private beach they reference is actually a sandy area with lounge chairs by the actual hotel (not by the ocean). The real beach was extremely overcrowded and not private by any means. The vibe at the Sea Shell tiki bar/outside area is definitely a fun, shore vibe that’s awesome for groups, live music and great for hanging out and drinking. It’s not a place to come to relax by a pool for a relaxing getaway. If the pool area was larger, heated and had lounge chairs, it would’ve made such a huge difference. Breakfast and complimentary waters would’ve been greatly appreciated too. But when you can’t lounge at the pool and the beach is uncomfortably overcrowded, it defeats the purpose of a summer getaway for us. Would much rather stay elsewhere with a relaxing pool experience and bigger room and then come to the Sea Shell for the cool bar vibe, great live music and fun with a group of friends.

I am as much insulted as disappointed by this “small business”. Brittney was helping my sister to book my bachelorette party. At first she seemed very helpful, talking through a few things… unfortunately through this process the wrong dates were booked. My sister emailed with Brittney multiple times stating the dates she meant to book for, Brittney didn’t take the time at address this error. Needless to stay we did not show up for this reservation since the dates where wrong. When I was speaking to Britney about this unfortunate occurrence, I accepted partial fault for this mistake. Brittney refused to accept any faults of her own. She said to me “I wasn’t asked to double check the reservation it so why would I” in regards to noticing that the dates my sister emailed about didn’t match the booked dates. “I wasn’t asked to” seems immature, lazy and lacking the care a small business should have for their customers. In the end, the seashell took $1500 dollars from us. I offered much flexibly with this refund, including spending this money at the resort. They refused to refund us or to accept their part of fault in the situation. The icing on the cake… Brittney felt the need to tell me that this was a “small business” and this money was coming from her family’s pocket… that for sure is not hospitality in its slightest. Small business have heart and flexibility to make their customers happy. Small businesses still accept that the customer is never wrong. Sadly the seashell is either a failing small business, or a heartless corporation.

We spent the last week in LBI and our rental was one block from the Sea Shell which we walked right past to get on the beach every day so we spent a lot of time at the bar and Palm Grill. For our last lunch we had the buffalo wings, tater tots, shrimp cocktail, steamed clams, and an eel roll with brown rice. My twin sister and wife had 2 Miami Vice cocktails with floater and then 2 Strawberry Daiquiri's also with floater (shot) and I had 4 Miller Lights. Our waiter John V was great and made our lunch perfect! Great service can greatly enhance a dinning experience and John was right on the ball checking on us ooff and on even though it was very busy and bringing me a cold Miller just as I was finishing mine. The location right off the beach is perfect. Our new GoTo place in LBI.

Motel right by beach, that was nice . Room was small but clean and nice , comfortable beds , housekeeping was good. Pool was nice but I was stunned in a negative way, there were no lifeguards , with lots of little kids in the pool as well as older kids rough housing in the pool . My issue was the management , in particular Tina , the Manager of Housekeeping . Her philosophy seems to be all patrons are Thieving liars, looking to steal from the motel She was very discourteous , disrespectful, rude, and sadly downright paranoid that all customers are liars looking to get away with whatever they can. Next time I will stay elsewhere, where paying customers are treated with courtesy and respect

Traveled here for the second year in a row for the July 4th Holiday. My opinion is there is no better place on the Jersey Shore than Beach Haven. Seashell is a great option as you can park your car in their lot, have easy access to the beach and popular restaurants (make sure you reserve). Seashell has excellent, solo artists and live band options each day. Food by the pool is mediocre with few exceptions, but fine for burgers. Stay on the second floor if you have the option, or you will be hearing your upstairs neighbors to all hours of the night. There is no more neighborly consideration in America anymore, so be prepared. To their credit, front desk and security team were very responsive to noise complaints after 10p. Beach haven is definitely a party place, so be prepared to party, or risk being dissatisfied.

This place is so much fun and the drinks are cheap. They have a great bar and the music is fun.

We just left this resort after our family spending $15, 000 on 6 rooms for 3 nights. Upon check out when I was returning our room key bracelets they charged us $50 for 5 missing pool towels. At some point my children got the towels from the front desk. Apparently you get a yellow towel card when you return them. Something my CHILDREN claim they were never told when they got the towels. Someone in our party returned the towels at the end of the day so we did not have the towels. This was all explained to the front desk and I got nothing except the guy showing me in his log where the towels were signed for. It was obvious a KID signed for the towels, it was not mine or my husbands signature. My husband then called the hotel and spoke to the manager, HEATHER. She gave him some sarcastic and unprofessional responses and said the only thing she could do was only charge us $25 for the towels since it was posted all over the hotel that we had to return the pool towel cards. We knew that, but we had no idea the towels had been taken. So basically even though we enjoyed our time at the resort, that pool towel experience ruined it for us. I hope the $25 was worth losing customers.

It's a decent place for a drink and an app, but don't have expectations above that. Some are in bathing suits off the beach, and dogs are allowed in the off season. Their black and blue tuna appetizer is one of my favorite menu items on the whole island. I wish they still had table service at the tables in the sand.

Favorite summer hangout! Best bartenders around! Shout out to Brent, Dave, & Ryan. Tom the owner is always there and cares about his patrons. I notice a negative review talking trash about this establishment do yourself a favor and see for yourself!

Stopped by for a relaxed outdoor lunch - another excellent experience. We have lived our summers on the island for over 27 years - rented for many years before that. The Sea Shell continues to improve with age and offers a varied menu for all customers. Their bar has standard and specialty choices that are consistently good. The appetizer and lunch menu is varied, (we prefer seafood options on the island), and the fish are always fresh. There were multiple visits this summer, just got around to the review. Kudos to our server, Matt, always observant and there with recommendations and fresh drinks. Worth a stop if you haven't been there yet. (PS: check out the live music schedule - great bands!)

My family and I discovered this place, when during the height of covid. We took a ride down to LBI for some Chicken & The Egg takeout. We parked near the resort and fell in love. We ended up staying for a few nights the following week and fell further in love! We booked for our end of the summer getaway this year, excited to see what the resort had to offer without covid restrictions and we were not disappointed! There are so many good things about this hotel and 2 minor issues, which do not change our 5 star review or our love for this place. I include them below in an effort to be totally transparent. Check in was easy and quick, room was even ready early! Love the room key wristbands. Any time we can leave all our stuff in the room and just enjoy the pool or beach or tiki bar, we are happy. Room for 2 adults and 2 children, age 11. 2 Queen Beds on the 2nd floor. Plenty of space for us all. Was so surprised by daily housekeeping, its been so long! Loved getting fresh sheets, towels and an nice clean floor every day. We appreciated all the hooks inside and out for hanging towels and suits. Very nice shower, we love the controls in the back. We knew we would not have an assigned parking space but oh boy did we under-estimate how long it would it take it get one. My husband drove around both lots, while I checked for people walking back to their cars. It took at least 30 minutes! But at the end we got a spot, and never moved the car again! Loved the pool, all the bands and music around the bar, and the bartenders near the sand were awesome. Every night we sat and ate dinner or a snack and listened to the music, and enjoyed the scenery. Highly recommend seeing Ty Mares perform. Great voice, great personality! We found all the bands and music to be top notch. Food was also excellent. Ok, back to my final, minor negative, the windows in the room are covered with shutters which provide total privacy and look beautiful, however they don't keep the light out. Which would've been ok, however the balcony light stays on all night, I assume for safety reasons and I kept waking up thinking it was morning. The staff was all so kind, attentive and seemed to really like their jobs. I was so impressed by the level of attention to every detail. We can not wait to come back next year and will be calling as soon as booking opens. Hope to return in the off-season with our dog!
