We learned that this restaurant recently changed owners so we wanted to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice upgrades (white tablecloths, new menus, quality flatware, and beautiful decor) they made to enhance the experience.
Our server, Alexa, was very polite, informative and attentive. Raul, the previous owner remained on staff to run the day-to-day operations as well as prepare the fabulous meals. The food was delicious with generous portions. The value is outstanding! The new owner even stopped by our table to solicit feedback and even thanked us for our patronage (RARE these days)!
Finally, everything was CLEAN...no sticky menus, salt/pepper shakers, or food/trash on the floor.
Finally, they still have their Monday pizza special...a large plain pie for under $13!
I highly recommend The Shack for a great dining experience at a great value!

I am glad I came back to The Shack. I heard there was a new owner who made changes. My friend said in passing to try it again, that I’d like it.
So, I did, and he was right.
It was REALLY good and they made a bunch of changes just like he said.
It was super clean and really comfortable. The interior looked completely upgraded. New coats of paint. Pictures on the walls and most importantly, an updated menu.
The specialty for the new owners are crepes and if you like crepes you just found your new go-to breakfast nook. I had the blueberry and it was … ugh … just … so … good! They have a list of fruit drinks now, too, that are all squeezed fresh. I had the passionfruit, my partner the orange, and they were seriously refreshing. Service was solid, too. Young kids who hustled and couldn’t have been more polite. Really nice kids.
I couldn’t have left there happier. Honestly, I’m so glad I gave it another shot. That’s the reason I’m posting this so others will too. The changes they made are definitely worth another trip. (Again, seriously, the crepes. SO good).

Stopped in for breakfast this morning with some friends. The staff were super welcoming, the decor inside is relaxed and beachy - perfect for a casual meal before or after the beach.
I had the strawberry crepes and they were amazing! Fresh strawberries, whipped cream - just the perfect amount of sweet. French toast, eggs, hash browns, pancakes - all of it was so well done - and affordable! Also their fresh squeezed juice blends! I had the orange and beet juice - refreshing and such a nice step up from a normal breakfast beverage. Definitely looking forward to getting back for lunch and dinner on our next trip.

Not inherently bad, but the amount of meat on the tacos is laughable. Literally a tablespoon of meat per taco. I’d buy from here more often if they put a real portion of meat on the tacos. This has happened more than once too. To the owner reading this, ITS OK TO USE MORE MEAT

Yum! I'm so glad I found this place! It's so cute, white tablecloths make it feel so inviting. I loved the fresh blueberry and strawberry crepes. The best I have ever had! I will definitely go again.

This is a really fun place. We had lunch off the ‘tourist menu’. Good salads but we saw people enjoying Mexican food so we went back the next day and used google translate to translate the Mexican menu to English. Best meal in Long Beach island.

First off … best pizza on LBI!! We stopped on for lunch - had 2 slices of pizza and a soda - $20 covered lunch and tip. Friendly and courteous service - thanks to our Waiter (good luck at college). The Owner was in thanked us for dining at The Shack (no, thank you). Not the fanciest place inside but we’re not fancy people (just 2 of us) so it was just right, but there’s plenty of room for the whole family. Looking forward to coming back during Chowder Fest and next summer.

I had a fabulous server named Zach who I had the pleasure of talking to. His service and manner were impeccable, always attentive and trying to help. The food also tasted great and the place felt like home. The server definitely made it a great memory!

Very disappointed in The Shack. Went in person to order and wait for a cheesesteak. Asked for banana peppers. The woman behind the counter spoke very poor English and had no idea what they were. After some discussion with the kitchen staff in Spanish she said they didn't have them but had cherry peppers & jalapenos. She was asked to put cherry peppers on the side instead of directly on the sandwich. When paying, was given the option to tip 15, 18 or 20%. I ordered at the counter, waited and picked it up myself so what is the tip for? When no tip was included there was a dirty look from the woman. BTW the cheesesteak was terrible. The meat was old tasting and dried out, barely any cheese and the cherry peppers were directly on the sandwich in contrast to what was asked. Sorry Shack. Won't waste my money a second time.

Traveled to lbi for the day from 2hrs away, was hoping to discover a hidden gem but unfortunately was not the case. The 2 girls working were very pleasant but it was not the place for us. We had to send back our drinks because they were bad. We were the only ones there and had a longer wait than usual and only ordered 3 things. The food wasn’t great but we had to be somewhere so had to just pack it up. The chips and dip we ordered were unlike anything we’ve had before it was overall a strange experience and wasnt quality. Im not one to ever give a 1 star review but i feel like this place needs a lot of improvement.
