Our favorite restaurant on the island has lost its sparkle. My daughter treated me to a dinner for my birthday. A Wednesday night on October 1, it was quiet, and the server was sweet. The food however was awful, frozen shrimp, dressing from a jar, cold French fries, 2 tiny fish and chips, wine that is measured. The good ole Tuckers is dead. And what we paid for this nightmare is beyond sad.

Went for Saturday night dinner with our Pupster! We sat on the upper deck, arrived close to sundown! The sunset was breathtaking as was the Seafood! 😊 The seafood salad was scrumptious and large enough for two! Salmon, shrimp and lump crab meat on top of cob salad …cocktails were delicious…
He had the Watermelon Mint Martini light and refreshing
I had Tuckers Tikitini light flavors mixed well!

Great spot to grab dinner. Food is solid if expensive, but pretty on par for the rest of LBI. Come here for a beer and upscale pub style seafood. Also if the weather is nice don't miss out on the roof at sunset. It's first come first serve so can sometimes be hard to get a seat during the high season but if the weather is nice it beats out the dining room for sure.

We go whenever we are in the area. Sitting in the upstairs deck is fun. The food and service are both outstanding.

Two girls working as hostesses make the entire experience negative. We were 20 min early for reservation during off season when most tables were empty. They told us we would only be seated near the time of reservation. We said we would wait outside and asked how we would know table is ready since they don't give buzzers. They said they would call us. 10 min past reservation we go back to check. Two of them chewing gum and chatting. When asked about reservation response is it is ready. Complete disrespect and lack of interest in working as hostesses.
Truly some of the worst service I’ve ever received ( our server Sydney should really not work anywhere near customer service). We waited 2.5 hours for incredibly mediocre food with no offer to comp anything, drinks were astronomically expensive for what we got ($16 for a coffee with Irish cream, for example)— Overall just an incredibly disappointing experience, atmosphere, and food, especially given how empty the restaurant was. Don’t bother reading the good reviews.

We spent several hours here on Saturday night. A couple of hours at the bar and then dinner. Drinks were great and the bartender was quick and attentive. At dinner we had the cheese curds and French onion flatbread for appetizers (both amazing) and Flounder picata (so good!) and fish and chips for entrees. They were very busy, but it all came out great. Our waitress was wonderful. We'll be back.

You know, every once in a while you stumble on a place that reminds you why dining out is still worth it in an age of QR-code menus and joyless chain food. It’s called Tuckers Tavern, tucked just off the bay, and it’s everything that’s good about America on a plate.
First, the atmosphere: warm lighting, nautical woodwork, and a buzz that tells you people actually like being here. It doesn’t feel corporate; it feels earned. The staff knows what they’re doing — attentive without hovering, and they can actually describe a dish instead of reading from a laminated card.
The food? Outstanding. The clam chowder is creamy but not heavy, with real clams — imagine that — and the crab cake is all crab, no filler. Their flatbreads come out crisp and smoky, and the burger is so perfectly seasoned you start wondering why anyone ever put soy protein in meat.
Drinks deserve their own segment: a smart craft-beer lineup, solid wines by the glass, and a bartender who knows how to make a martini that tastes like a martini, not a science experiment.
Here’s the bigger point, though. Tuckers Tavern isn’t just serving food; it’s preserving a tradition — a space where families, neighbors, and the occasional out-of-towner can gather, talk, and enjoy something honest. In an era where too many restaurants chase gimmicks, this place doubles down on quality.
If you find yourself near the coast and want a meal that makes you glad you left the house, Tuckers Tavern is the stop. Good service, good food, good company — that shouldn’t be radical, but these days it almost is.

The waitress was very good. The food service and food in general was not good. No decent salads, and the seared tuna was terrible.
Friendly attentive bartender.

Tucked away off Engelside Ave overlooking the bay in Beach Haven is Tucker's Tavern. We've eaten there at least four times and our taste buds are always tantalized. The littleneck streamers are amazing and so fresh but the best part is the broth of clam juice, fresh spinach and tomatoes with parmesan melted crostini bread for dipping and you'll want to order extra bread. Their homemade soups are delicious. The ahi tuna was so fresh with the jasmine rice cakes. And the grilled salmon and crab cakes are so fresh. Add in captivating cocktails and delectable desserts capped off by great servers who truly believe in all this place has to offer. And if you have a special occasion, they'll treat you to a special dessert. What a terrific time at Tucker's!

Generally crowded and very noisy but outdoor dining areas are great. Food is consistently good but not particularly noteworthy. Diverse menu with something for almost every one. Nice bar, very popular with the locals. Service is excellent with friendly managers roaming around. Unfortunately surcharges credit cards. Despite having a parking lot parking can be a challenge.
