I came here to celebrate after the game, expecting a great time, but it turned into one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. What should have been a fun outing was completely ruined by the waitress's behavior. She not only argued with me for no reason but also spilled my drink on me. I still smell like alcohol because of her carelessness and disgusting behavior !

When I told her I wanted to finish my drink, she didn’t care and rudely squeezed the whole can, making a huge mess. Her lack of professionalism and outright disrespect was shocking.

This place is an absolute disappointment. If you’re going to run a business, you need to hire staff who know how to act appropriately. Her behavior wasn’t just rude—it was completely unacceptable and honestly disgusting. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Worst, ghetto establishment I’ve ever encountered.

Good music. Good tastes great especially when you’ve had some drinks, which from this place are fairly priced and taste decent. Nice spot to chill with friends and enjoy a good DJ.

This place is an absolute trap. They advertise drink specials but "run out" of them when you try to order. I would understand if the place were full, but when it's half empty at 4pm, come on! Overrated and a cheat.

Servers waitresses are trying to rip you off any chance they get by adding more drinks on your tab and stuff you didn't order and over charge you play close attention to your bills when you get them happened to me and friends of mine

This spot is definitely a hidden gem! They offer really great happy hour specials and even have trivia night on Wednesdays! The food was excellent and service was fabulous. Ambiance was cozy, but definitely not a quiet spot! A very lively Hoboken style bar. Would definitely recommend!

Stopped in for lunch. Friendly service. Shrimp Tacos were excellent. A decent selection of whiskey and whisky.

The issue here was the DJ.. I asked him on 8/10/24 if he could please play some soca or reggae he said ok and I said thank you ? you are awesome. I went back to my table and he started saying that people were calling him racist and telling him what to play… I was stunned that he was actually unstable and got racist from what I said….. the place is awesome but that dj apparently has some deep seated emotional issues and needs help…. For last night the rating was a 1 for me…

Im giving one star because the bartender was great but the DJ is the worst I’ve ever heard and the kitchen closed super early.

Daniel Berru... he goes by the name of "D". He made our day by being himself. Let me tell you how he did it:

1. Personality: he was friendly, delightful, and SMILED ?!!!!
2. Knowledge of the menu: he help my date navigate the menu. By the menu I mean... take a pic of the QR code and figure it out. He navigated the phone and also KNEW THE MENU, THE SPECIALS, AND THE BEST THINGS TO ORDER!!!
We order the: Margarita Pouches Passion Fruit and Mango are the best flavors. Steak and Eggs brunch, wings, chicken pesto panini.
3. Consistency checked in on us: how many times do only see your servicer twice??? Once to order and once to pay? I LOVED that part most.
4. Vibe: the place was dead, but "D's" energy made it feel like we had our on personal server.

Let's sum it up:
Food... GREAT
Atmosphere: Great music was pretty good.
Service: IS THE REASON TO COME. Ask for "D" because the level of service I received was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Thank you Daniel Berru!!!

I came here almost a year ago with coworkers and we were instructed we could not sit inside due to a single coworker being under 21, despite not seeing any signage or any postings on the website about this.

The service was subpar as servers seemed to mainly focus on guests inside the restaurant, rarely coming outside to check on guests in the front. I do recall having to repeatedly ask for drinks that we ordered as the staff would often forget.

The group was not satisfied with the drinks either as the pouches were not worth the money. I have debated on going back to give this place another try although my first visit still haunts me.

Jersey has disappointed me, over and over again. So here we find our selves at The Whiskey Priest. Nice name and this is where the positives kind of stop. Parking isn't the greatest because it's in a residential area. I am officially making it my business to only visit establishments in New Jersey that get a rating of no lower than 4.7. And even a 4.7 is a risk in New Jersey when you come from Brooklyn, New York. They have the nerve to have a list of things that you cannot wear at the front door. This place is like a sports bar. They must have taken that sign from a fancier spot. We walk in and the bartender greeted us and said to take a table. I don't think that was her job but it's appreciated. About 7 minutes later, a server approached our table. Bar stools and chairs were hard. We ordered different wings, chicken fingers, fries and a volcano nacho. The wings looked good and were seasoned well. The chicken fingers were horrible and was returned. As for the volcano nacho... Fake melted American cheese, with no flavor on the chips nor on the chicken. Only taste was the jalenpeno peppers. This was also returned. The fries are good. We were highly disappointed. Now there are places in New Jersey, that if you go on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, you may get a bad meal because their top chefs usually work Thursday thru Sunday. Like at Hook and Reel. Went on a Tuesday and wanted to throw my food away. Then went on a Friday and it was amazing. In the case of Hook and Reel, my first visit was on a Friday (great). 2nd visit on a Tuesday (Horrible!). 3rd visit, a Friday (phenomenal). Unfortunately I will never know if this is the case at this establishment because I will not be returning. Side note, this was my first visit and it was on a Tuesday. Just saying. If you do go, I would just stick to the wings and fries. Make sure it's a Friday or Saturday but I'm not sure if that will help the situation. For what we got, we overpaid. A very disappointing night. You live and you learn.
