their chicken is the real deal... it's the perfect excuse to go to belmar beach... hands down our favorite fried chicken...

I ate here twice in August 2020. The Cruz Bay Cafe is located on the Belmar Boardwalk near the beach and ocean. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar wrap for take out and it was tasty.

this is an absolute gem of a find... the real deal chicken speaks the truth... surprised to find chicken this good at the boardwalk... we came back to belmar just because we love the chicken so much... and at this pandemic times the takeout came with an insulated bag...

Great food! Nice to enjoy while on the beach. Good portions and tasty. Easy to order and food was ready quickly.

Very disappointing, I would give them below zero stars if I can. Never ever buy again from that place - zero quality. 6/13/20, I ordered a crab cake sandwich ($12) and fries ($4). The sandwich was mainly 2 slices of tomatoes and lettuce on a hard bun and tartar sauce was on side. As far as the carb cake patty itself, it is very small piece that is less in size and thickness than 1 tomato slice that was in the sandwich; I should have taken a picture but I did not. To give a visual, it is smaller in size than a fish patty that McDonalds or Burger King put in a fish sandwich. For $12 sandwich, you would think that the fries is included with the sandwich but it is not; all other surrounding places include the fires and the overall price is way less. I should have gone to other places in the same street but I did not want to wait in long line due to Covid-19. Now I know why other places are packed this place is not!

Excellent crab cake - may be the best I've ever had. No filler, nice size, shiny bun. Wish it came with a side dish for the price though. Easy ordering at the counter and located right on the beach/across from the lake.

Walking the boardwalk and decided to stop in and try this place. Was disappointed considering customers are few in between in this COVID-19 time. The chicken platter. The potato salad was the only thing good in it. The chicken was old and not hot or warm at all. To have a sign claiming the best chicken. Today they did not show they are the best. The cold slaw was not to my liking at all. The crab cake sandwich was not good at all. Little crab and the bread was very hard. For shore area food this was not a good stop.

I would like to give this place a higher rating but had to round down due to pricing. We stopped here for lunch after a few hours on the beach. They were unfortunately out of the crab cake :( so I got the mahi-mahi tacos, S.O. got the cheeseburger, sister got the chicken sandwich and we added 2 orders of fries to share. We weren't expecting too much from a beachside shack which made our experience all the better. It was all so good! Highly recommend the mahi-mahi tacos! Everyone really enjoyed their food. Wish I had taken some photos. The only downside is the cost. Nothing came with a side, so $9 for a sandwich is kinda painful. Total for 3 entrees, 2 fries, and a THREE DOLLAR SODA was $40. But it was tasty.

The iced tea was ok. That's the best I can do. Hamburgers were hockey pucks. Fries were not worth it. Overpriced and BAD.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I saw this place on Instagram where it looked to be great and tasty. Wasn't even going to the beach but I planned on trying for lunch so I came down. That's the foodie person I am. Plain, plain, plain. Expensive sandwiches don't come with any side like fries. $30 for a dry crab cake sandwich and a dry chicken breast sandwich. Tragic. I get it's Belmar. I get it's beachside food. Sandwiches were dry although they are advertised per menu with tasty garnishes. Tragic and disappointed but I learned my lesson and will never give my business to such an establishment. If you are going to advertise a certain way, don't sell frozen bland food. No Caribbean fusion of any sort here! A joke man. I've been bamboozled and I get really mad when I have bad food! Smh
