We just tried Hooked Cafe in Belmar NJ for breakfast and we are so glad we did. The breakfast sandwiches we ate were delicious, and hit the spot. This is not for fancy food, just very comfortable and satisfying and very fair prices. The service was perfect. The two ladies doing the cooking and serving were terrific and friendly and knew what they were doing. Coffee was perfect as well. This is a great place for a friendly atmosphere and terrific food. They were open for breakfast and lunch until 1 PM. We will make it a regular stop.

My prior review which was 5 stars was for the prior owners Peggy and John. I'm sorry but myself and friends have separately tried the place since ownership change and it was disappointing.

We were very disappointed with the food and the prices. Not sure how they got a high rating. Sorry

Food was delicious, attitude of our waitress was crappy. We’ve never been to this place before, and they only take cash or Venmo. My mom only had credit cards, she jokingly said “I’m not from here.” And had to walk to a dollar general, as she walked out; the waitress mocked her saying “I’m not from here.” ? proceeded to give us a look as we walked out after paying. Fix your attitude and face.

Happy Wednesday Adventurers! While in the area I saw this place for breakfast and decided to stop by. I grabbed a to go because I had somewhere to be. It's cash only or Venmo, which I find its pretty normal for smaller local spots. The thing about this location was that it reminded me of Maine, the walls are painted this beautifully brilliant blue with nautical inspired decor. My favorite was the fishies above a fishing boat, which I had to take a snap of. I ordered 3 eggs over medium, with rye, and a side of bacon. The eggs were still a bit too runny, but its a standard breakfast. I want to go back and to sit there because the staff were super nice. If I lived closer then I'd prolly be here all the time. I saw a reviewer complain about the sign showing open, but they weren't. Honestly businesses making that mistake all the time, but to point it out is just whatever. Highly recommend stopping by here early because I have a feeling they're super busy with the locals.

I am a Local. Has not been good since new owners. Both times I went the eggs were made on a dirty grill and you taste other breakfasts. Seems like the servers are aggravated.

Great little hidden gem for breakfast. Had pancakes and pork roll, egg, and cheese and they were both excellent.

Best pork roll egg and cheese I've had in ages. Incredible hash browns. 5 stars for sure. Loved it.

I have worked in the food service industry most of my life and I have never turned a customer away for “being too busy”. We walked in at 12:15 pm to a place that closes at 3pm and we’re turned away because they’re “too busy and not seating anyone the rest of the day”. I can’t imagine a restaurant would turn down the opportunity to make more money. It’s not that I was dying to go to this place but more so the principle and ridiculous response that didn’t sit well with me and prompted this review.

Wow wow...oh so good. We sat outside and had the best lunch. I had the shrimp po boy and my wife the fish tacos. Both were excellent. The po'boy roll toast and soft ( not a hot dog roll). Crispy shrimp cole slaw and sauce. Home made pasta salad. Toasted pita chips. The fish tacos with guacamole were so so good. A place to go back to again and again.

My wife and I came for a late lunch. Wow...fish tacos and shrimp po boy were the best. The roll for the po boy was toasted. A soft roll( not a hot dog roll) filled with crispy shrimp and cole slaw and sauce. Falling off the side. Home made pasta and chips. Toasted pita chips. Fish tacos with guacamole and overl load of taste in every bite. Sitting outside under the umbrella. Excellent service. A place to come back to again
