Awesome little place with family atmosphere and great choices.
Love the basil white pizza.
My dad has brought me here since I was a baby, I’m almost 30 and bring my kids now too. The food is really good, portions are large, price is amazing. YES, if you call to order ahead you should call back again in a few minutes to make sure they’re actually making it. The owner frequently forgets to give the order to the kitchen, he’s an older gentlemen, it’s no big deal. You can always ask for Francisco to take your order and he doesn’t forget. Bergenfield Pizzeria is an old-time traditional pizzeria with a parking lot, offering a simple and straightforward dining experience. The restaurant provides vegetarian options, including plain bread with marinara, pasta, and olive oil. While the atmosphere may not be the main draw, the food reflects the unapologetically old-school Italian style, with classics like plain pizza and chicken parmesan heroes. Customers praise the excellent portions and delicious, basic old school Italian food such as pasta fagioli, linguine in clam sauce, and marinara pie, which takes about an hour to prepare and cool before cutting. The cheese steaks are large and tasty, and if the bread runs out, the owner makes his own. The sausage and meatballs are also highly recommended. Although the food can be salty and orders may take some time, the prices are very fair, and the staff is friendly. The laid-back atmosphere offers a nostalgic feel, like being back in 1983. The owner is hardworking and clearly cares about the quality of the food. Overall, Bergenfield Pizzeria is a hidden gem in NJ, worth trying for those with realistic expectations.
