In the decade I've known my husband, who grew in Mountainside and is a frequent visitor to Goodman's, he only JUST took me to try their incredible sloppy joe corned beef sandwich. I was offended he waited this long. WOW. It was worth the $18 to make it "lean" because corned beef can be fatty and these sandwiches can be heavy. This was absolutely perfect - I love the half sour & sour combo of pickles they give you on the side. Can't wait to be back!

I come here specifically for the lean pastrami sandwich. My opinion is this is the best in this area. I highly recommend giving Goodmans a try. You won’t be disappointed. Trust me I have no personal gains by touting Goodmans I just think their pastrami is

We came in with six people which for a small deli was a challenge! But they met the challenge. Food was great. My husband and I split a large pastrami and that was very satisfying. Could not believe their matzah ball was as light as mine!!

I have tried many many delis all over North America. Goodman's is unpretentious and focused on making great food, the way Jewish delis are supposed to. It is a one hour drive each way, but worth every minute of my time to enjoy the superb pastrami. I don't make the trip often enough, but when I do, as I did tonight, Goodman's reminds me why it is my favorite of all delis.

Awesome deli/sit down restaurant (they also do takeout). Have been coming here since I was a kid. Ordered a takeout order and they forgot the French fries. The owner called me immediately and apologized. Next time I went in, they comped the fries and also threw in a dessert free of charge. Now thats customer service. The food is great too btw…

Walked in and just want an veggie sub/sandwich. Like any other deli/sub place in America that has a basic veggie sandwich…They don’t. It’s 2023.They were we can charge for a grill cheese by the weight and this and that.. I said you can’t just make a sub with couple slices of cheese, lettuce, onion, mayo etc… and they said no. Something deep fried food and meat … I don’t know.I just wanted a simple veg cheese sandwich and this place in 2023 did not and could not make it.Not a veg friendly nor customer friendly place.
