Happy Family Chinese & Thai Restaurant

The staff was super friendly and nice. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the bourbon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, roasted pork lo mein. Couldn’t even get a good photo of the food cause it smelled so good.

I'm Suzy's husband. Happy Family were making the pork dumplings and other food delicious. Now everything tastes dull, they are skimping on pork in the pork egg rolls, and the size of their meatballs in the pork dumplings. Plus now, the pork dumplings aren't being drained of fat at all, like they were.
We're not eating there again. This was the 3rd time they beat us, so we're out. We can't afford to eat like this, anymore. The first few times, when they knew we were new, they made it better, and bigger, so we'd come back. Stay away from here. These are predatory people, not good people.

I've always gotten take out so I didn't get the to experience dining in but I am very pleased with the food here. Great quality and they can never stuff too much food into the containers (always spilling out the sides lol). I found out recently the owners are my neighbors and they super friendly, very neighborly. Ivy came over was willing to barter delicious food for as many figs she can pick from my fig tree, pretty awesome. I highly recommend, all of their dishes are authentic.👍

I got general chos with white rice and a cheesesteak egg roll. Worse general Cho’s I’ve ever had cause should be thick it was watery like they poured a half of bottle of hot cause in there. I never experienced general chos that was watery. Definitely don’t recommend.
Ps I never leave reviews this was so bad I had to.

An excellent family restaurant. Pleasant staff. Tasty menu. I have not had a bad experience ever in the many years if patronage. Truly a Happy Family experience. And if you time your visit right you may get a delightful live piano performance.

Why did they change the rice?? Disappointing!! They went up on delivery fee as well!! I live in philly but when I come to jersey I order from you guys. Will be a long time before I do it again!! Will have to find another place!! I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

I had delivery so I don’t know about atmosphere, but this is the 4th time ordering the shrimp and walnuts dish, spring rolls, dumplings, and wonton soup, delicious

I got a delivery and the food took an hour called store and was told it was already out for delivery they lied last time i orderfrom them

Usually order Thai food and its OK. Place could use a good cleaning and all the kids toys should not be kept in the front of the store. Prices are competitive.

I ordered a delivery meal. I got 2 egg rolls. They were average. I also ordered Fried dumplings. They were of poor quality , tough and difficult to chew. The sauce was much too sweet. I would not recommend them to anyone 1/2 is very generious .The highlight of my meal was the House Special Fried Rice . The flavor was great the protein and rice were both tender.

Ok, so…I almost left a bad review due to communication errors. My order included egg foo young, in which the gravy was sour/spoiled tasting. I called to notify the restaurant, and originally their resolve was to send out a new gravy…which they did. I was very dissatisfied, as I had poured the gravy all over the dish and requested they remake the dish. My mom drove to the restaurant at 8:00p, immediately upon walking in they knew the order. Once she explained how the gravy was poured over the dish the chef, without hesitation, told her to sit while he remakes it. The dish was remade, new gravy, fresh rice, and a free soda were given. I’ve been a customer for over 30 years and the customer service has always extended beyond that to customer care. I’ll continue to drive past other Chinese’s food establishments to go to Happy Family.
