I am writing to share my exceptional experience at Bachannal Junction, where we recently celebrated my father's 50th birthday. We utilized the party hall at the back of the restaurant, and it proved to be the perfect space, setting an ideal mood for the surprise party.

The food was, of course, delicious. We selected the option that included Jerk Chicken, Rasta Pasta, Shrimp, and Plantains, and every item was incredibly flavorful. Beyond the fantastic food, the entire team contributed to making the event a success. The bartender was extremely friendly, and everyone, from the owner Tristan and his father to the host who assisted with serving the meal, was remarkably attentive. They meticulously managed every detail, from orchestrating the surprise to the presentation of the cake, ensuring everything was absolutely amazing.

I wholeheartedly recommend Bachannal Junction for anyone considering hosting a party. The space is exceptionally accommodating and welcoming, as are the people who work there. I cannot thank them enough for making my father's birthday so memorable.

I ain’t like my drinks.. the fish wasn’t good nor was my black rice. Very disappointed.

Appreciate the effort to set any tone, but you had the dj MAKING NOISE, instead of genuinely gaging the crowd and space to see if people wanted karaoke… it was annoying and disruptive to listen to over a meal. It’s one thing if your customers can’t sing and every paying customer is forced to hear.. but dj hush and play tunes man.

This place is beautiful! The parking is great. I’m sure it’s a great vibe for a party or even night out. I went with my husband and our two children under 3 on a Sunday after church. We were seated immediately, but the service was lagged the entire time. The server was new and made multiple mistakes. Like not asking how we wanted our eggs cooked, bringing our wings with sauce even though we asked for them without. The food came out lukewarm warm so the food didn’t taste the best. It wasn’t terrible, but not worth ordering again. I called over the manager and she mouthed one moment and didn’t come to us at all because she was taking pictures…which any other server or attendant could do instead of her. Just not a service minded location. When I approached the owners son about all that had gone wrong he was also non chalant. Not a place I would recommend if you enjoy great service. To top it, when I asked for an egg cooked the way I liked the server tried to charge me for an extra egg. Nice that it’s in East Orange, but they should elevate the service for this place to get 5 stars.

Wasn’t what I expected being that I’ve tasted better Jamaican food. The oxtail gravy was packed in a sauce cup and tasted like soy sauce. Would overall rate the food a 3/10.

Came here for my cousin’s networking event on the last Thursday of the month.

I ordered the strawberry lemon drop, salmon bites, & yucca fries —- tore my food up. Lolol

My cousin wasn’t a fan of the fries & I wasn’t either. Had a strange after taste to me, but she liked her wings & her drink.

Bartender was accommodating & patient with all of our demands. We met the owner as well & he was cool too.

This is a real nice happy hour, date night, gurls/guys night spot.

It was a date night. We had Bacchanal sampler which was DELICIOUS. I the rum punch 2 might I add. It was that good. Dinner was Salmon with rice and peas with plantins 9/10 ( to much rice for mr personally and it could have been plated better), my boyfriend got the king fish ( didn't really like it, it was drenched with sauce) macaroni and cheese and plantins.

Customer service was 10/10. We didn't have a reservation and the hostess was able to squeeze us in. No issues, food came out fast and HOT.

Atmosphere is beautiful. Live DJ's both tonbe exact played great. Can't wait to go again.

With great anticipation, we genuinely wanted to enjoy Bacchanal Junction. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing.

Atmosphere & seating:
Chill with a live DJ who was loud enough to be fun but not overbearing. 🎧🎶🥳 #DJ #Music #Vibes

Food quality:
Regarding the food and beverages, I must express some disappointment. We ordered the Oxtail and Jerk Salmon. Regrettably, both dishes seemed to lack the vibrant, authentic spices and flavors typically associated with Caribbean cuisine. However, I will acknowledge that the Oxtail did achieve a commendable level of tenderness. The Jerk Salmon was slightly overcooked, and its crust appeared burnt. Furthermore, the jerk sauce tasted more akin to barbecue sauce.

Overall experience:
We were disappointed with the culinary experience, as the food and beverages did not fully capture the authentic flavors, spirits and essence of Caribbean culture and cuisine. In addition to the aforementioned Jerk Salmon and Oxtail, the Sorrel with Bourbon and Ginger Ale was imbalanced, with an excessive amount of Maker's Mark Kentucky bourbon. Upon requesting a remedy, the solution provided was unique and unexpected. Our waiter returned with a supplemental shot glass of sorrel. Considering the recent industry practice of 20% service charge, we anticipated a more proactive approach.

Furthermore, the lingering kitchen odors on our clothes at the conclusion of the evening were unexpected and undesirable, particularly given our plans to attend a subsequent event.

I sincerely hope owners and operators will use this feedback to improve the dining experience. Bacchanal Junction has the potential to be a true gem for Caribbean diaspora, for which NJ scene is immensely lacking 🫶🏾

Double date night. 1st time trying this place. I’m sorry but probably won’t be back. Vibes are OK but food was 1-2/5. Salmon bites were dry and over cooked, curry goat was not hot. Rum punch was OK (3/5). Was OK to experience once. Won’t be back until food quality changes.

I love the food just mad that some items are only for certain days. And they need a dessert menu. Service great

Pros the vibe, out back parking, aesthetics, bar size, dj karaoke on Wednesday from 8pm on, service wasted little time taking orders, plenty of water was given and the menu was explained, karaoke selection was great just too small a crowd at the time.
The cons-MY ENTIRE ORDER WAS BURNED to the point my 6yr old son noticed the salmon burger was burned, the salmon bites were burned. Date complained about the drink being too sweet and not enough liquor/rum. They put gratitude at 18% I believe WITHOUT TELLING ME BEOFRE HAND, thus shorting her on cash tips anyway. No big deal just think it’s scummy to force gratitude on a meal that were served burned.
Order was ox tail, and salmon burger, salmon bites for apps plus her drink. The pepper sauce was good but couldn’t get drinks afterwards to calm the spice down after letting my son taste it. Willing give another shot but if anything is burned m leaving right then and there

Idk if the chief went and personally gather the grilled chicken and shrimp from the SALT lakes in Utah and forgot to rinse them out prior to grilling but they were both overly salty, to the point where the salt was cutting ur tongue, mean while the rice had absolutely no salt or flavor jus bland rice. The pasta in the Rasta pasta was over cook to the point that the fork couldn’t hold it you hand to scoop it up to eat, the salmon bites were the only thing I found to be decent that I had tasted, there was some wings I can’t remember the type but I won’t comment on them as I didn’t consume any.

I did however ordered a lychee lagoon and boy I shouldn’t have, when it did come it tasted sour like the coconut flavor had gone bad and sparkly due to the prosecco….. I think the lychee was either on vacation. Or retired from the drink but they were still using its name cuz that bad boy was not present in any of the two sips I took and left the drink right where it was because NO ! The garnish for that drink was lime and lemon wedge not even lychee from the can sigh

I would give them a round of applause for the music it was a little bit of everything the vibes was vibing Dj was doing his thing, how ever it was just a little too loud, we came to dinner not the club if we wanted to not have a conversation with the people we are breaking bread with we would have gone to the club but for a place that a sit down dinner turn it down a tad !

Nice Place to come and chill with friends. I noticed they had Tv’s to watch sports which was a plus. The DJ was great. Daniel was my server which was also great! However I ordered the Rasta Pasta, it was terrible. It was basically noodles with Alfredo sauce and “Jerk” flavored sauce on the Salmon which the Jerk wasn’t spicy at all. I will come back and try something different because I did get the chance to see some of the other dishes that were ordered by other people.
