Blended Flavors - Bloomfield

I ordered the oxtails and it taste like they add flour into the gravy. It was so weird. The mac & cheese was good. The oxtail is not how I like oxtail. Even the rice to put it over it’s not your regular rice and peas or even white rice that you put oxtail over. I’m so curious on how they cooked it. It does not even taste like an unflavored oxtail. It is just a weird tasting oxtail.

Order two fried whiting with yams and Mac. The fish look old and was poorly breaded. You could see black on many of the pieces of fish. The yams were hard as a rock with only a few edible pieces. The only decent part was the Mac and cheese. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Order. Whiting with collard greens and cabbage. 10 pc hot honey wings.

Whiting: best part of order 4/5
Collard greens “with turkey”: withered, looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot. Lacked flavor, had a bitter taste. Had no Turkey. 0/5
Cabbage: I don’t mind soft cabbage so the texture was good but peppercorns were over whelming. 1/5.
Wings: biggest disappointment because I looked forward to this. Lacked sauce. Wouldn’t have been an issue if the wings as a stand alone were good… but they weren’t, the crisp looked beautiful but the chicken lacked flavor 2/5 (because it can be revived with bbq sauce I have in my fridge)

I ordered via Uber Eats, food came well packaged. I had the oxtail Mac and cheese and the corn bread. The oxtail was just poured over the Mac and cheese, it wasn’t as tasty as I expected. The corn bread was good but it got saggy by the time to me, because the butter was poured in it.

I think when it’s a delivery butters shouldn’t be poured on it , rather it should be put on the side.

I ordered on Uber eats, everything was quick and easy so no complaints there. The food is definitely overhyped.The chicken was okay. It tastes like regular hot honey butter sauce , but other than that the chicken itself didn't have much taste. Also if you like small wings, this isn't the spot for you these wings are pretty big. The potato salad was white as ever with zero flavor besides slightly sweet. It was overcooked, kind of tasted like sweet, lumpy mashed potatoes. The greens didn't have taste either, no salt, no real flavor. The price isn't the worst but the food, definitely sub par.

Since I refused to cook on Thanksgiving Day yesterday. I opted for some real food today. My food was simply delicious. The Fried Wings were cooked to perfection with a nice amount of Carolina BBQ on top. The Potato Salad was very tasty. But, the Uptown Tea is like no other. I will happily recommend Blended Flavors to anyone that is seeking great memories on a plate.

From the moment we arrived, the service at Blended Flavors was outstanding. The waiters were incredibly attentive and kind, and Chris and Melany took especially great care of us.

The drinks and appetizers were an easy 10/10. The Bang Bang Shrimp was a standout crispy, full of flavor, and impressively sized. The mac & cheese was creamy and packed with flavor, and the whiting was perfectly crispy and delicious. The Rasta Pasta had a good kick to it, with bold flavors that worked well together. The chicken wings were another favorite, with great crunch and that amazing Bang Bang sauce that quickly became our table’s top pick.

The only dish that fell short was the banana pudding, which could use some improvement as it didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the meal.

Overall, a great dining experience with excellent service, good music ,flavorful dishes, and a few standout favorites we’d definitely come back for. Thank you for a great experience.

The food is seasoned to perfection. I ordered the catfish with yams and cabbage. My husband had the fried shrimp with Mac n cheese and potato salad. The butter cornbread skillet was melt in your mouth delicious.

Good food, I would want to come back if the one guy at the counter didn’t act like it was the biggest burden of all time to tell us what the lunch special was. It really puts me off when someone is so unhelpful to the fact that you’re trying to spend money at their business.

SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT BLENDED FLAVORS. I had a great experience here i will always go back. My mom & I went here for our 1st time for lunch & the Vibes are great from the door. The music puts you in a nice mood and then Mani customer service skills are amazing he is so nice and patient he knows his customers he really ran the whole front show he sets the tone & baby when my food came out it put the icing on the cake the whole place is a vibe and a good one at that. CHEF TONI/(TONY) in the kitchen throwing down to perfection. Presentation on the food is the best i have seen in a long time in Jersey. That Bang Bang Shrimp & JerkChickenEggrolls really a 10/10 for me. The cornbread was the best bread ever. I also want to take time to enjoy the fact of them using CAST IRON SKILLET PANS to server certain dishes. Man i tell u the thought process they put into this restaurant was amaing and as a customer i really appreciated the cast iron pan idea. I plan to go back for sure because the banana pudding was calling my name & the way the Bang bang shrimp hit it made me want to try so much more but thats a next time trip lol which will be real soon. Everyone go support i need them to stick all the way around lol.

Fun tiny eatery with the BEST cornbread I've ever had. It comes in it's own little skillet with crispy edges & a warm soft center. I ordered the catfish mask that find with 3 pieces. Would have looked it to be a wee bit crisper, but was def. flavorful. My mom got the street 🌽, which comes in 5 bite size pieces & all the fixings. My dad got himself she crispy fried chicken, also 3 pieces. The mac n cheese is outta this 🌎. Has good coleslaw too. I'll absolutely be going back to try some different s meals & sides. Very friendly efficient staff. Clean
