Prices have definitely climbed in recent years—but if you’re looking to treat yourself and splurge close to home, Bloomfield Steak & Seafood House is a solid choice. The surf and turf is outstanding, and the drink selection is equally impressive, with a wide range of wines, beers, and cocktails. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. In the warmer months, you can enjoy lots of outdoor seating and even live music. Come hungry for great food and good vibes—just don’t forget your wallet!

When one walks in the door of a lavish steakhouse, it’s that delicious aroma of a fine selection of perfectly cut steaks, chops, and the soulful ambiance is always so romantic and warm.

Housed in one of the oldest buildings of the Pre-Revolutionary War in Essex County, and with the basement once a stop on the Underground Railroad, this family-owned and operated establishment has been serving the Bloomfield area for over 20 years, and it's where we decided on dinner tonight. The reservation was easily made by calling Bloomfield Steak & Seafood located on Franklin Street.

Upon arrival as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the host and shown to a table in the cozy dining area in the back with a maritime decor vibe. They have outdoor seating in warmer weather with a live band and cozy fireplaces in the cooler months.

Whether one’s a meat lover, seafood enthusiast, or vegetarian, their diverse menu offers appetizers, soups, salads, pasta, burgers, and, of course, steak and seafood.

As appetizers, we decided on a dozen Blue Point Oysters and Beef Empanadas. For our main meal, we opted for Pork Chop with Jersey Peach Sauce, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Mac-N-Cheese, Steak Frites and accompanied by a side salad. Some of us even saved room for Key Lime Pie. Complimentary bread started our meal.

Everything on the menu was made with such care, love, fresh ingredients, and tasteful deliciousness. Each cut was cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, flavorful, and tender in all the right ways.

The staff makes one feel welcome and well taken care of; our server, Andrea, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Excellent price for the quality compared with other places. Excellent all around, which we can recommend.

Bloomfield Steakhouse: A True Gem for Meat Lovers! I’ve only been to Bloomfield Steakhouse twice, and I’m already completely hooked. This place has quickly become my new favorite steakhouse, and I can’t wait to go back!

From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is classy yet comfortable, and the staff makes you feel welcome and well taken care of. But let’s get straight to the best part: the food .

The meat is nothing short of spectacular. Each cut is cooked to absolute perfection, juicy, flavorful, and tender in all the right ways. Whether you're a fan of classic ribeye, filet mignon, or something more adventurous, you won’t be disappointed. Every bite feels like it was made with care and expertise.

And the sides ? Oh wow, they’re not just an afterthought. They’re delicious on their own, but even better when paired with the expertly grilled steaks. Creamy mashed potatoes, crispy asparagus, you name it, they do it right.Highly recommended! You owe it to yourself to experience this place.

I took my husband here for Father’s Day & let me tell you. I am blown away by the service, the ambiance & the taste of the food! All absolutely exceptional. In a widely caucasian neighborhood, me & my Hispanic husband were treated with the utmost care & hospitality.

There was also an issue with the kitchen, they had not received me & 2 other orders from the high demand of guests/take out orders… so our entrees & last round of drinks were on them! ($100 taken off our bill!!) We most definitely did not expect that but the hour wait was totally worth it. They had a lot of rounds of bread & butter come to our table in the meantime & appetizers were served pretty quickly as well!

Bloomfield Steakhouse is an absolute gem in North Jersey!
I feel so lucky to live just around the corner from this incredible spot. Everything on the menu is made with such care and love — from the expertly crafted cocktails and sangria to the mouthwatering appetizers and the decadent desserts. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, patriotic and inviting, with great music and an energy that makes you want to stay for hours.

One of my favorite things to do is grab a drink at the bar and work my way through all the appetizers - each one better than the last! Nicole and her team are always so welcoming and friendly. The service is top-notch every time!

This place deserves nothing less than five stars. Highly recommend!

While up scale prices, the taste was great and the portions large.

Cute little spot with a lot of charm. Food and service were good. We’ll definitely be back.

I want to thank the owner, Andrea, and her staff for an amazing dinner experience. She and her staff were very nice and attentive to our needs. Food was good from the appetizers to the main course. My husband had steak, yellow rice, and brussel sprouts . I had a rack of lamb and garlic mashed potatoes . The food was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in NJ.

Arturo made this historic family-owned restaurant into a truly “ at home “experience with its delicious dishes. The meat cuts are fantastic—dare I say, even better than Mama’s butcher! It’s definitely a local spot worth revisiting.

A lovely family owned restaurant with great service and yummy food & drinks. My husband enjoys the burger medium with everything and I am a bg fan of the fish tacos which comes with rice and beans.

Our friends enjoyed the steak and lamb chops. If there is ever a problem with any of the food they will address it immediately and with kindness. The owners walk around to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals and are always attentive.

Great place to enjoy a quick happy hour cocktail or a great meal.
