Tiktok brought me here. So glad it did. They can compete with best cheesesteaks in NJ. Thats a fact. The Fat broad is legendary and the best cheesesteak ive had since i last went to philly for a cheesesteak. Cheesesteak, so good i went back to back days looking to get a fat broad lol. However, i dont ever accept a menu item as is, i have to customize it in some way so my suggestion is to request the bread toasted and i add cheese wiz on top , so that sandwich has cooper sharp in the inside and cheesewhiz on top and chipotle sauce on the side. If you don't like a saucy sandwich this suggestion is not for you.

This place is incredible, always friendly and the cheesteaks are some of the best ive ever had.Im 35 and my family used order Joeys in Belleville all the time.Ever since they closed I havent found a decent cheesesteak spot until now.This place is a gem and honestly Im honored to live in the same town as this establishment.Best cheesesteaks in not only Bloomfield but in essex county.

A buddy told me about Christos in Bloomfield, and since it’s right near the bike shop, I stopped in. Philly-style cheesesteaks on semolina bread—that’s already a win.
The guy at the counter was cool, and the sandwiches were on point and they came out pretty quick.
Neighborhood feel, solid prices, and staff that make you feel welcome. They’re talking about staying open later on Thursdays for the games—sounds like a good reason to roll back through.
My only caveat is that there’s not a lot of seating Kind of a neighborhood spot so people get a lot of to go orders and cheesesteaks travel pretty well if you’re gonna get a to go order.

One of my buddies told me about a few of his favorite spots in Bloomfield and mentioned Christos. Since it’s near the bike shop, I decided to check it out. If you don’t know, they do Philly-style cheesesteaks on semolina bread. I love a good sandwich on semolina.
The guy up front was super friendly—I forgot his name, but I’ll get it next time. My buddy ordered the Old School, and I went with the New School so we could swap halves. New School won.
I don’t even know what a real Philly cheesesteak is supposed to be, but the New School was slamming. This place hits all my marks—neighborhood restaurant, great food, not pretentious, and staff that actually care. They’re only open till 3, but might start staying open later on Thursdays for game night. Go see them. Make it happen.

Amazing cheesesteaks, came here with a bunch of guys for a bachelor party and the owners and staff of this place are incredible. We’re all from Philly and these are hands down the best cheesesteaks in the area. Don’t sleep on the buffalo chicken cheesesteaks either, absolutely incredible. I will definitely be coming back anytime I’m in the area. Thanks for everything!

Great gem for ds this spot and it has great cheesesteaks
I got the Phili cheesesteak with onions and for sure this was THE BEST cheese steak I had around this area! I prefer the bread to be more toasted but this one was really GOOD! Lamar at the register helped us today and he was very welcoming and greated everyone warmly. Overall, this is a place that should be on your trying list if you are in Bergen county or close by!

NJ.com recently rated Christo’s as having the best cheesesteaks in Northeastern New Jersey (Passaic, Essex, Bergen, Hudson, and Union counties), and I must say, my taste buds agree. Real shaved ribeye, seeded rolls, and even Cooper brand American cheese, all the hallmarks of an excellent cheesesteak. I got two cheesesteaks, one with cheese whiz and fried onions, another with cooper American, fried onions, cherry peppers, an Italian long hot pepper, and chipotle aioli. The fries were typical of most Jersey delis and diners but the corn nuggets were really awesome. They’re also known to have really good breakfast sandwiches and even a Boston North Shore style hot roast beef sandwich that I will have to come back for in the future. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was that of a typical Jersey neighborhood deli.
