I stopped by Mr. Exquisito for lunch recently, and the experience was made outstanding thanks to our waiter, Edwin and his coworker. From the moment we sat down, Edwin was welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive.
He had great knowledge of the lunch menu, offering helpful recommendations that suited both our time frame and appetite. He was quick to take our order, made sure our drinks stayed full, and ensured everything came out promptly and perfect for a midday meal.

I took my boyfriend here for Father's Day, seeking authentic Puerto Rican food that reminded him of home. The interior had a charming Spanish vibe, and the food was tasty with great portions. Unfortunately, our server was inattentive and inexperienced. We waited well over an hour for our meal, with no updates. Despite enjoying the food, the long wait made this our first and last visit. Be prepared for delays and bring your patience.

We were really looking forward to eating here because of the reviews and pictures. However, our experience did not meet our expectations. First of all, we waited close to an hour for our food. And, second of all, the meats were dry and flavorless, the tostones were overcooked and the maduros were undercooked. The juices were amazing! That’s about it. We ate the food and didn’t complain because we didn’t want to wait another hour for new food.
They had the nerve to charge us an automatic 18% gratuity. When I tried telling the waitress Cata that the food wasn’t good, so we didn’t want to pay the automatic gratuity, she gave me an attitude. Definitely not coming back. You don’t make people wait for bad food and then charge them a 18% tip. Presentation isn’t everything, the food has to have taste too.
For reference, we paid $106.67 for a pork chop that was 75% fat and bones with a side of mofongo, a thinly sliced chicken breast that could’ve been half or a third of a chicken breast, half a plátano maduro, half a plátano verde, a kids chicken tender and fries, and three drinks. Again, not worth it.

Unfortunately waited about 1 hour and 15 min for food, restaurant was half full at the time so definitely not too busy. a third of our food came to our table and the steak was room temperature and we had to send it back.. it's like it had been waiting for a while. one of my kids got their meal the other had to wait another 20. The waiter did own up to the mistake of bringing us meals that were meant for another table however this wasn't disclosed until we asked for updates 3 times. My kids meals were both just rice and beans, these sides are usually things pre-made from my experience so we were confused as to why they couldn't just bring the other kids meal to at least have them both eat. Such a let down from the videos.. Operations are lacking and need help. No point in having good food with poor service. we observed tables getting dish by dish in sporadic moments too, tables that arrived after us getting meals before.. etc. a mess.

We came today Father's Day despite the wait for the food it was great. The wait was worth it because everything was fresh!!! Seasoned great, not too bland, not overly season. We had the Mar y Tierra (Skirt Steak, Lobster, Shrimp, White Rice, Tostones) Mar y Tierra Mofongo (delicious) the same as above minus the white rice/tostones. The monfongo didn't need sauce in my opinion. It had great flavor and not hard/dry. Skirt Steak Sliders with Guac (My favorite) Shrimp Ceviche (delicious) Shrimp in Garlic Sauce Everything worth it. Give it a try!!!

I had high hopes for this place because the food truly was amazing—flavorful, well-prepared, and worth talking about. Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by the poor service.
Our waiter was extremely rude and lacked any sense of hospitality, which was disappointing—especially knowing that gratuity was already included. There was no effort to make us feel welcome, and the attitude was indifferent at best.
To make matters worse, the timing was terrible. Our food took over 45 minutes to arrive, and both the appetizers and entrées were brought out at the same time, completely defeating the point of ordering appetizers.
While the kitchen deserves credit for their work, there are plenty of other restaurants in town that serve equally good food and treat their guests with care and respect. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, it’s very small, they made us wait a whole hour, and when we got inside they told us 15 more minutes and within the 15 minutes they never called us.
Edwin was fantastic and the food was delicious and well priced for the serving and quality. Definitely coming back real soon.

The food was amazing the environment its great well decorated, but it was too cold ? I was seated next to the entrance and as people will enter the cold breeze was hitting me like there was no tomorrow other than that the food 10 out of 10 service everything else 10/10, Edwin attended us.

Everything was excellent. I would recommend coming dressed warmly because the cold comes in every time they open the door but it is worth the sacrifice ? 10/10. Edwin gave us excellent service and I had a very pleasant time with my husband. I recommend them 100%
