First of all, we had the best waitress, Neidy! ❤️ The food was fresh, excellent portions, and sooooo good. My sister had turkey wings, mixed greens and yams. We also had the chicken wings, cornbread, and cabbage. You will NOT be disappointed.

We waited about 10 min to be seated as the waitress continued to walk pass without acknowledging our presence so we asked can we seat ourselves the waitress said yes . We sat for 30min no one came to our table . They took orders from tables for takeout that were already served instead of serving us after 10 more minutes we left we tried to be patient . The service is terrible the waitress don’t even say hello . The food looked delicious but I’ll never return. Date night ruined .

I went with my aunt today for a brunch . The place looked good online . When we walked in it was nobody to greet us for 10 minutes and no chairs were set up but online it says it opens at 12 and when we walked in it was nearly 1pm. We had to walk up to the kitchen to b acknowledged,We finally got sat , they bought out cornbread as soon as we sat and didn't take our drinks. The cornbread was good I got a lemonade and my aunt had a uptown. The uptown was extremely sweet. The waitress informed us cornbread comes with the meal. When the meal came out my aunts fish was cold. The sides were good and my food was still hot . We asked for the cornbread the waitress explained the corn bread that came out when we first sat came with the meal . I was confused because if that was the case why would we get the cornbread so early . Me and my aunt put in a extra order of cornbread . It never came to the table , not once were we checked up on after the food was dropped off . The waitress was nice enough to take the cornbread off the bill and still give it to us. I usually don't write reviews I'm a server myself but the service was lacking and the food could of been better . The banana pudding was excellent though !

I'm allergic to fish. So, when I call the staff always is there to assist me in getting my order correct and they bring it out to me since I can't come inside because they serve fish. Recently I moved out here from my home state about 3 years ago back home we got tons of soul food spots that are on point I was really hopeful this would be it cause a coworker recommended I’m starting to think my co worker hate me cause yall really did me dirty I got the fish meal and it was basically skin you sent me the Mac and cheese was regular like I could make that the potato salad was regular I want the type of soul food like back home soon as I get paid from work I’m telling the family we ordering the spot it’s Friday we spending money on the spot this did not happen like to the point I’m afraid to even try soul food in New Jersey like yall really got me contemplating soul food from Jersey like yall gotta do better for the people like this ain’t it legit the only thing I got was the banana pudding and that was like a couple spoon fulls and I was done here’s the skin of fish I got like when I go back to work imma ask my coworker if we have beef lol cause he sold yall to me but I’m convinced that he too ain’t never had real soul food God bless y’all and I wish yall the best I would not recommend yall to anybody cause I would be responsible for the poor choice of food I sent them yall be safe

I just ordered from them and the chicken was so salty and I can take a good seasoning. And I'm not at all a salt sensitive person at all. The uptown was so sweet that you could fill up one cup with a gallon of water and you can still taste the sugar. They were very stingy with the portion of cornbread. The mac and cheese was okay portions they were stingy with the portions of their sweet potato fries. Overall, I expected more out of this place with the hype around it. I was a little disappointed I really wanted to like this please but I don't think I'll ever try it again. It's money wasted to me for me personally, Popeyes tastes better.

This place used to be one of my faves, the service is terrible. Ordered online, went to pick up 45 mins later (1 platter mind you). I get there it’s no food, claim order not received and then they proceed to make the wrong order, bagged it and sent me on my way. Also, why are the collard greens sweet? And they downsized the portions significantly since I was there last. It’s a hard pass for me from now on.

OMG!!! Everything was delicious...the staff is friendly and the atmosphere was a definitely vibe. I haven't had soul food that this good from outside in a very long time. And I'm from the area which says a lot.. Nice job guys I'll definitely be back ????

The food was delicious!! However, the service was bad. We walked in didn't get greeted, sat for about 5 mins before getting menus, and another 5-10 mins waiting for a server that we had to go get, our server was not attentive, and when the bill came it was very confusing. She was not able to explain the bill to us that we understood, and the only reason we tipped is because we're fellow servers. It's a shame because the ambiance, vibe is really cute, and the food is REALLY good! In the future I will stick to ordering from home.
First off, I almost didn't make it since my GPS was acting up! But thanks to a local and the young lady at the restaurant, I was able to finally find the restaurant. My son and I were craving some soul food and decided to give The Juke Joint Soul House a try and do not regret it! I was greeted with a smile and the atmosphere was nice. The food was delicious! My son had the catfish, mac & cheese w/potato salad. I had fried chicken, mac & cheese w/potato salad. I even ordered two extra meals for tomorrow. I did order takeout, but they do have a dining area. Pass by and give them a try. I do recommend. Thank you

Somebody mac'd the cheese, very dry & unappealing and the Turkey chops were tasteless one was tough and the other wasn't. The gravy was seasoned well and the chops should've been smothered in the gravy longer. I wouldn't order them again as this is my time getting them. I will give the peach cobbler high marks!
