This is the second time I've reviewed this bar and I'm compelled to do so because of how much has changed. To review, when I first went about a year ago, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't find the waitress' outfits to be that skimpy and most of what they show is the midsection. Second thing I noticed was the bad service. No one seated me. No one asked me if I needed a drink or menu. No one smiled. Food was awful. I stopped going for months. I recently came back and it's obvious there is new management. Food is better. Service is more attentive and the screwface waitresses are gone. I mostly enjoy the clientele, the energy during sporting events and well priced drinks with a good selection. The bartenders are friendly. There isn't another bar in Bloomfield like this one with this kind of energy, diversity and space to watch screens. I have fun here.
I visited this location for the first time to celebrate my sons birthday and it was a disappointment. We were not received by a greeter and when someone acknowledge us we were directed to a table. The table, the chairs and the floor were dirty with oil and french fries. I had to ask the waitress to clean it up. When ordering, there were two menu items that were not available to us. One cup with soda was broken and leaking on the table. To kill time we tried to play pool but the pool sticks were broken. We were never given utensils or napkins. We waited over 45 minutes for our food even though it was slow and we were the only ones there. Thats about the same time it took to see the waitress again after ordering. Finally, another waitress brings our food out while the original waitress is walking around out of uniform. The food was cold which makes me assume that the food sat waiting for the original waitress. The original waitress must have went to lunch since she was in pants and a sweater. Overall, the service was poor and the food did not meet expectation. I've visited other locations like the one in East Brunswick and never have I had an experience like this. I don't recommend going to this location at all.
Worst restaurant ever!! the food was horrible. the fries were disgusting, they definitely used old oil. food came out at different times. My mom ordered a french dip and the roast beef looked like the most fake piece of meat i have ever seen. you know their food is bad when you go there at 5:30 on a saturday and we were the only ones there (minus the people at the bar). the floor was also dirty, looked like they never sweep. I will NEVER go back. we ended up walking out. i have no clue how this place is still open.
Chopped salad, not a chopped salad, medium rare burger not medium rare, didn't know how to make a whiskey sour, loud music. BUT the staff was great and did GIVE me a burger to take home. Server was very nice. Not expensive. Cute but skimpy outfits. Didn't bother me, basically, it's a young person's place.
AVOID if you're looking for a fun night out. Two friends and I were at Tilted Kilt Bloomfield last Friday- the place was virtually empty to begin with, and after being physically threatened by THE MANAGER and his friends, I now understand why the place it struggling to get patrons in the building. We had just walked in and ordered our first beer when we turn around to have our seats (jackets on them) taken by two clearly intoxicated individuals and a third older dude. After a brief verbal altercation we decide it's not worth it and just move, aiming to finish our beers and promptly leave. A moment later out of nowhere we're approached by these two guys and the third older guy who ends up being THE MANAGER named Larry, are physically threatened and called every name int he book. At this point I'm hoping the hired off-duty police officer at the door will step in, only to find that he's apparently the one dudes cousin! The officer was a complete gentleman and we immediately chose to leave, but I couldn't believe the audacity of this manager sanctioning his friends threatening paying customers for literally no reason. Not sure if it was a racial thing, if something shady is going down there or what their problem was. Still waiting on an alleged return call from the general manager about the incident and looking very forward to filing a formal complaint with the town of Bloomfield tomorrow. Worst restaurant/bar experience of my life hands down- stay away.
