Recently dined here with a large party for a birthday celebration. The food was very good - hot, flavorful and large portions for the price. The ambiance was very pleasant and nicely lit. I appreciated that the music was soft so you could speak to each other without raising your voice, like in many restaurants. I liked that the owner came around to personally check in. However, the waitress assigned to our table was curt bordering on unfriendly and disappeared at the end of the night when we needed to pay the check. I had to ask another person in the kitchen to get her attention after too much time had passed. Multiple guests at the table commented on her attitude and lack of attention, saying that it didn't match the vibe of such a classy place. Soda was forgotten and had to be asked to be brought to the table. Menus were presented but she did not check if we wanted an appetizer for a long time. As a result, others at the table decided not to order one who otherwise would have.
Overall, I was glad to support a local business in my town but the service severely dragged down what could have been a much better experience. I would think twice about dining here again as a result.

Had a great Valentines dinner here. We recommend the spicy shrimp with stuffed rigatoni and the short rib ragu. Excellent food and service.

Amazing experience at Skratch! The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was outstanding—friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, with the chicken savoy and filet being a standout. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. To top it off, the carrot cake dessert was incredible! I can’t wait to come back—highly recommend!!!!!!!

Just went to Skratch for the first time with my wife. We really enjoyed everything from the food to the service. Though the restaurant was busy, everything came out in a timely manner. The chef came out to ask how everything was as well, which I always appreciate. Definitely check it out!

Skratch Kitchen – A Must-Visit in Bradley Beach
If you haven’t been to Skratch Kitchen in Bradley Beach yet, now is the time to go before the summer rush makes it one of the toughest reservations in town. This rustic, cozy spot has an inviting atmosphere, and Chef-Owner JT delivers an unforgettable dining experience with every dish.
We started with the Comfy Meatballs & Grits, a warm and satisfying appetizer. The Fried Eggplant Carrozza was crisp on the outside and creamy inside, while the Grilled Shrimp was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The Roasted Cauliflower was another highlight, bringing out deep, rich flavors in a simple dish.
The Pappardelle Bolognese was the ultimate cold-weather comfort meal—hearty, rich, and deeply satisfying.
For mains, the Chicken Parm was generously portioned, crispy, and covered in just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The Bistro Filet had a bold, robust flavor that stood out, and the Shrimp & Grits was a bowl of creamy, savory goodness that hit all the right notes.
Dessert, though, was the real showstopper. The Carrot Cake was easily the best I’ve ever had—and might be the best you’ll ever have, too. Moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with incredible frosting, it was unforgettable. The Classic Tiramisu, with a dusting of pistachio, was a fantastic take on the traditional version, bringing just the right amount of sweetness to end the meal.
It’s no wonder Guy Fieri made sure to stop at Skratch Kitchen during his visit to New Jersey. If you haven’t been, don’t wait until summer—go now and experience this gem for yourself!

Came here last night with a party of 13 for my graduation and it was incredible. The service is top notch, everyone was so welcoming and kind. We shared a bunch of apps, everything was delicious especially the grilled artichoke hearts & roasted cauliflower. The bistro fillet was cooked to perfection! The pork chop was so flavorful. Shared the bread pudding & pistachio tiramisu for dessert and both were amazing. Love that it is BYOB. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!!

Appetizers were great, my pasta entree was way overcooked and lacked the flavor. Service very good. Tight squeeze ... literally sitting on top of each other.

Our first time. Tried this restaurant on a whim, google search. It was absolutely fantastic! Great service by our waitress Theresa, fantastic food, and the chef came out to see how our meal was which I think is such a nice touch. Had spicy clams and artichokes for appetizers, chopped salad, then shrimp and grits and a fish special. All 10/10. Will definitely be back and will be spreading the word!! Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Everything was AMAZING! Ate in the outdoor courtyard. Jonathan our server was great. Presentation and flavors were wonderful. Recommend the clams and Chicken Savory. Guy Fieri was spot on with his episode.

Very well executed dishes. The Cajun clams are not to be missed. The broth of the cioppino was so rich and deep. This place is a hidden gem, rightly exposed by Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives....and it's literally none of those three, it's a well done, well executed small bistro type amd you can tell the chef cares when he walks around greeting his guests.
